I have folled James work for quite some time now, followed him on facebook, and always admired his work; I am an artist my self and an amateur photographer. I was finally able to book him (not because he is not accesible, but rather I found the perfect occation). I believe his art speaks for its self and is clearly extraordinary and a visual feast! So I wont drive that home any more. With regards to his work and work ethic, well, that is what I wish to focus on this review. Fist off, punctuality was beyond reproach, James and his team where early for our shoot, a trait that is saddly beeing lost in our society now a days. Communication and accesibility, another A+ before, during and post his communications through email, text etc were promt and never seemed like I was a bother. During the shoot his bedside manner and demiener was also refreshing, great profesional direcction to get the best out the shoot for us. Honesty at every turn, also something we are missing, since people will either tell you what they think you want to hear, or are rude with an "im better than you" and "you dont know anything" "im the professional" additude. Not with James, he is down to hearth, courteous and yet prefessional, bringing the best out of you and for you shoot and final product. So, I think it goes without saying. Love James and his work, following our shoot i had my wife make sure she booked our family portraits asap. We are looking forward to that! I had to update the review since I just now figured out how to get my review to show up. I originally posted a review 3 months ago, but kind of let it slip my mind when I couldn't find the confirmation email. Until this morning while I was folding clothes after finally getting my baby girl to sleep and her big brother to quiet down. My eyes were drawn to my wedding photos above my couch. I've seen them hundreds of times but today I got to appreciate them even more. I wasn't just looking at how amazing my wife looked on that day, I remembered my heart wanting to jump out of my chest when I saw her coming down the isle. How my dad looked at me with pride in his eyes as he fixed the double Windsor knot of my tie. The look on my mother's eyes when she danced with her baby boy while trying to fight her tears. The pure joy I felt being surrounded by our closest family and friends. I can't speak highly enough about James Edward Photography! I have used his professional services for many years. He has captured my 3 daughters in such unique and creative ways. I have been extremely pleased with his work and always recommend him to anyone requiring photographs. I even sent him to Oregon recently to take pictures of family members as a surprise Christmas gift which were incredible. Some shots actually looked like magazine covers! I used to work in the entertainment industry and worked with some of the top directors and photographers in Dallas. When you finished a job, you felt like a star and like a somebody bc everyone told you that the director or photographer was super successful. When I'd shoot with new photographers, I'd always tell that they had a long way to go and that I was more like their guinea pig. James shot headshots for me and also some marketing material for me. When I found out how incredible he was and the kind of gear and clients he had, you would never have expected such a humble and approachable guy. He worked wonders on a photo shoot of my Roman wedding -- in a Basilica adjoining the ancient ruins, followed by a world-class session through the streets and monuments of Rome, then a week later at a reception at the Dallas Botanical Gardens. In fact, one of my closest friends said she met her husband after using a photo from my wedding as her Match.com profile picture! He is also great with commercial photography and headshots. But don't expect any creative direction or taking a vision to the next level. Recently I hosted a holiday dinner and party and knew I wanted photos from the night but didn't want everyone to sit with their phones and cameras out and not enjoy the party so I hired James and couldn't have been happier with the photos.
