Our most recent pictures were from our wedding years ago, so we decided to commemorate this year's anniversary with some updates. I was in search of a photographer whose talent would not rely on editing ability. Call me old-fashioned, but I feel like editing is an insult to real life. Heavy editing says that somehow the real moments--and the real people in the moments-- aren't good enough. We chose to work with Aaron because of his commitment to his craft. He pairs the proper tools with a healthy dose of patience to capture the genuine beauty of the moment rather than relying on photoshop editing. The photo shoot itself was casual and relaxed, just like Aaron and JoAnn themselves. We felt comfortable being ourselves and enjoyed visiting with them. There were moments when I forgot that the camera was even clicking. It's hard to describe, but I felt an unexpected rush of self-confidence as I examined the pictures. We looked great, and it was the real us. JoAnn's intuitive, practical, easy-going nature makes the reveal and selection process a pleasant experience. True photographic printing and presentation is intricate, but JoAnn skillfully navigated us through the decisions and helped us to assemble a collection that I know I'll be proud to share with others.
