Where to begin .... We were so excited to be sending our…read moregrandson his first cookie/candy bouquet! He's 4 and a half. We called the store on the Thursday prior to the long weekend to ensure delivery to be made on the Tuesday- his first day of school !!! Sadly Nana and Papa are far away and couldn't share his first day of kindergarten. We were absolutely heart broken to find out the store delivered the next day - Friday !!! So the moment/excitement to the day... irrelevant, lost and gone forever. We called the store, so upset and they agreed to give us a full refund-we would have rather had the experience but at least they honoured service levels ... NOT !!! NO, What the ?? We waited until the following Wednesday still waiting for our credit of $70+. So we called back the store, spoke with Sam, who apparently runs the store owned by her parents- We did ask for parents name but quickly told None of our business and that we were not going to get the refund as promised during our prior call. She would refund the $10 delivery. I asked if she truly understood the disappointment of what happened and was told she really didn't and couldn't care less. I asked to speak to some else .... No. So I again repeated, you didn't deliver as requested, you spelt his name wrong, you agreed to a full refund, then that didn't happen but you couldn't begin to understand why we would be upset. We had the pleasure of dealing with the prior owner Grace for many years and always such great experiences. So... in the end ..... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!!! so that you don't go through what we did ... they truly don't care. Oh, did I mention Sam chose to hang up on us too ??? The world is small Sam.... You made a choice in how you handled the business ... yours and ours. We will continue to share our experience with you and Artful Cookie every opportunity we get, solicited or not. Bob and Vicki

Everything was great until I went to the register to check out. I paid for my items once, received confirmation from my bank via text at 8:51pm. The cashier insisted that the store didn't receive the transaction and to charge my card again. He retrieved what appeared to be the Supervisor, who insisted again to charge my card and that the text from the bank wasn't sufficient evidence of me paying. Against my better judgement while have my child begging for these items, I did indeed charge my card again. Especially after being assured if I emailed the Manager, it will all be sorted out. I charged again at 8:59. Ultimately the store received my money twice. I was refunded the next day, after emailing the Manager to sort everything out. I was pleasantly surprised at how this was resolved. The only thing I will say is that the workers and the women from accounting who called me all said, this happens often. Here's a tip, get the POS system looked at so another customer doesn't have to experience this.

It seemed to me to be a very typical store selling very typical items. I give them more of a 2.5 rating because although the store does contain nice items, it's not one of my 'go to' places.

Items are not cheap but there's a story on every item. Ten Thousand Villages help men and women in poor countries have another fulfilling life - abused women in general. Buying here helps you less fortunate have another take on life. The items are actually not bad but like what I've said, a bit expensive. A ceramic tea pot cost $29 without a filter, 20 ginger teas for $ 10 and small plant pot for $ 22. I'll come back here and buy a boxed items with stories behind it. Because it's the story, the charity that I'll here for.
