Flowers By Johnny on Delaware Ave in Kenmore is our "go to flower shop" for any occasion. My husband and I met with Tim back in January in 2018 to plan and go over options for our wedding flowers. Tim is a true artist not only with his flower designs but him floral paintings. Tim and his team did an awesome job with our wedding flowers and can work with any budget. It's worth the extra small fee for them to set up the floral arrangements at the wedding venue. They came on time and did an amazing job! The favors were beautiful succulent plants for each couple to take home. Tim went the extra mile to spray paint the terra cotta pots a metallic rose gold to match some of the wedding tones and added Spanish moss around the succulent. My husband Dan has ordered arrangements for other special occasions since our big day. I have gone to flowers by Johnny for two of my fiancé's bridal showers. They made two gorgeous bouquets for me on short notice and were wonderful to do business with. The flowers lasted much longer than the typical grocery store flowers and I could customize each bouquet. I would say they were priced correctly. I would much rather support a local business than give more to a grocery store or a department store. Not only that but they sent FUNERAL flowers (that look just like weeds u can pull out of a backyard) to my sister for her 50th birthday. My grandfathers funeral flowers looked the exact same. I ordered flowers for my elderly mom, who lives in an apartment. It was supposed to be a horizontal arrangement for a credenza but, instead, was a round arrangement, which did not look like the photo in an ad. (Plus filler mums vs lilies) When I called to ask for the correct arrangement to be delivered, he said she would have to carry the first arrangement downstairs, wait for the delivery guy and exchange the first arrangement. Was really disappointed. Ordered through my Teleflora account. Hot pink, bright yellow, and blue. Smallish arrangement for a desktop. What arrived was pastel pink, pastel yellow, lavender and white and not small. YIKES. Looked like the arrangement for a baby shower. Recipient loved it, of course. Who doesn't love flowers. And I understand the need to substitute when flowers are unavailable, but this was not a substitution. It was a completely different arrangement. I am repeatedly beyond pleased with this florist! Since I do not live in the area anymore the purchase was made over the phone. They were extremely helpful in putting together an arrangement for my mother based on the color selections I was interested in. She offered multiple flower and color options within my price point, taking care also to exclude those I was not interested in. I was also given the option of stems (bouquet) only, as a vase was not necessary. This allowed for more stems to be included. The end product was absolutely stunning!! the delivery service was comically horrible. the man was extremely rude from the get-go and kept calling me while i was at work because he couldnt figure out how to get into the apartment... but you're literally a flower delivery man do you not do this all of the time??? i should also not have to be inconvenienced because you can't figure out how to do your job. it was 12:30 pm on a monday, everyone knows majority of people are working. he said someone might have to come pick them up, i said no one will be picking them up because i paid for them to be delivered. i could tell he was an older man so i kept my patience and remained kind. he literally forced me to give him the recipients phone number or else he wasn't going to go back, because i had never been there before, which shouldn't of even mattered. it was supposed to be a SURPRISE! and i told him that and he didn't care whatsoever. even after the recipient finally received the flowers, she also told me he was even rude to her as well, just for receiving flowers! she also had to go downstairs and retrieve them from him. come to find out there's instructions on the call box in front of the door the entire time. just completely unprofessional and unnecessary. i even prepaid his tip which i obviously regret doing. the flowers were fine but all in all i will never be doing this again. not worth almost $100 read more
