My only knock is the thumping DJ during dinner service. I dont mind music, but house music cranked up during dinner is a bit early 2000's vibe for me. For me that was a 2 star knock, simply too loud and made table conversation difficult.

Olive & Ivy looked promising, but the actual experience was even better than I imagined. First of all, this is a fantastic place with a great atmosphere. Whether you're visiting with family, friends, or dining by yourself, it's a place where you can feel comfortable and enjoy a great meal. I was seated at the very nice and comfortable bar area, where the bartenders were fantastic, attentive, and ready to accommodate any request. The little bruschettas were a great way to start the meal. I followed them with a salad, they even accommodated a half portion for me. Then I finished with the short rib. Everything was delicious, well-prepared, and served in generous portions. I honestly expected this place to be more expensive, but the prices were extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. You can definitely expect to see me back here the next time I'm in town! Thank you for providing such a great experience. Keep up the excellent work!

I will say I think we ordered too much food We had the burrata and the hummus to start. I had the barbecue ranch salad with chicken and she had the rustic bowl with steak. Everything was really good. The hummus was phenomenal. I wish the chicken in my salad was hot versus cold, but I would definitely come back here. Service was great really cool vibes inside they do offer outdoor seating as well.

I will legit never come back here!!…read more The service is DIABOLICALLY LONG I cannot BELIEVE how long we waited for 1 coffee and 2 entrees to-go when the restaurant was EMPTY between 9:30-10:30. I am actually so upset. We ordered at 10:09 and recieved the cappuccino about 10:15. We waited and waited, watching the 3 workers scramble for something to do. Cleaning up the bar area, scraping bird poop outside, count the leaves on the trees. Idk. I understand they're not the ones responsible for the slow kitchen. We waited 30+ minutes for our food and finally at 10:41 am we got it. Wanna know what we ordered? Avocado toast and a steak melt. One of the simplest things on the menu. And remember there were maybe 2-3 solo customers doing computer work or at the bar, who had already ordered and were just enjoying the day. The only other customers vying for an order from the kitchen was a family with some small children. I cannot fathom coming here at a time that is more busy and having to compete with multiple other parties to get my food the same business day. Do not come here if you're really hungry. We ordered at 9:15ish to eat there and even that felt like it took long, when there was even less than 3 customers there. Thank you for the cold cappuccino and your lack of urgency for customers. I'm so glad we tipped y'all twice to do the bare minimum and serve us food whenever you felt like it.

The Roasted Beets - Beet & bean hummus, hibiscus, pistachio dust, smoked salt, chili oil, to start was great. The real miss was on the 40 oz wood-fired porterhouse, fire roasted chiles, charred spring onions, Alma steak sauce. Though cooked well I found the Ranch Beans, Esquites, Warm Tortillas, Escabeche, Charred Chilies to be way off the mark. The Ranch Beans were so watery I am really not sure what you were supposed to do with them. Having what I believe was a Serrano pepper on the porterhouse board could have come with a warning. I like spicy food. A lot. The rest of the table was caught off guard, including someone who had a wedge salad where the bacon, or maybe the Snakebite Ranch, caught them off guard as well. Having never been to the previous location, I'm not sure if this is a growing pain or just the way it is. The new place does look amazing. Large, modern, open, and inviting.

I was traveling solo, so I decided to sit at the bar, and I had such a pleasant experience. My server was incredibly kind and helpful, especially when it came to recommending what to order. With so many delicious options on the menu, I definitely appreciated the guidance! I ended up ordering an omelette with a pancake as my side, and everything was absolutely delicious. It was such a satisfying breakfast! The restaurant itself was very clean, bright, and inviting. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and it felt like the perfect place to start my morning. Overall, between the delicious food, extensive menu, welcoming service, and pleasant atmosphere, I had a wonderful experience. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place during my trip, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot in Arizona!

The carnitas hash overall was unfortunately a bit too tart for our preferences but the carnitas itself was tender. The americano omelet on the other hand was satisfactory, a good choice you can't go wrong with. Overall, service was fast and friendly. We came on a Saturday, and they were quite busy, but we were able to get seated immediately since they have a good amount of indoor seating and outdoor patio seating. They even had a live DJ, that made things more upbeat.

If you plan on going in the evening, consider making a reservation if you want to play safe, especially on a Friday or weekend night. Overall, would try again.

The six of us were seated across from the bar, and it was HOT . I started sweating and needed to use the menus as a fan and drink water to try and cool off. The restaurant had already been open for almost 2 hours, so I am not sure why it was so hot inside (others in our party were hot too, so I wasn't just me). Positives are the restaurant's beach decor and the hamburgers. Several people in our party ordered burgers, and they were cooked to perfection and the fries were really good! Negatives are very few seafood menu options and the fish tacos were terrible. They were drowning in a mayonnaise based slaw. The corn tortillas were really fresh and tasty, but when I bit into my taco I could mostly only taste mayonnaise and the pickled onions. Our friends even made an unsolicited comment that my tacos did not look good. Luckily, I selected fries as my side, because they were the best thing on my plate. With a name like Montauk, and the beach decor, I expected more fresh seafood options on the menu. More than half the menu was not seafood (Mediterranean platter, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, brussels sprouts, salads, etc.). Unfortunately, Montauk does not live up to the hype.

Our server came to the table to introduce herself and to take our drink orders. I didn't order anything to drink, but placed my food order. The description of double stacked AZ grass-fes beef was the golden line that made me crave this burger. I was not disappointed. The burger was definitely stacked. I had to cut it in half to eat it. The beef patties were seasoned well. I could taste them even with all the other toppings. The beef tallow fries were so good. I made a happy plate with nothing left but maybe a few crumbs. Additionally, we ordered a single pancake just to try and it was amazing. Our server mentioned they also have chocolate pancakes. I can't wait to try. The place was buzzing with loud electronic music and tons of people dining -- I think because the ceiling is so high the noise is amplified. Because it was so busy it took a while for the server to come over but he did with waters which was nice but then the menus are all on QR codes -- which is annoying because it is hard to look at everything and because the menu is very confusing it would have been nice to see everything on paper. The menu is confusing because the selections are very odd -- I thought it was a mexican-asian/sushi fusion restaurant -- which I guess it is but it was still really hard to create the best food experience when I couldn't see everything available. My friend was hungry so she immediately put in an order for calamari and I was being called to order the blood orange margarita slushie. When the margarita came it was like nothing I have ever seen before. It looked more like a milkshake or like a creamsicle. I dove in thinking it would be too sweet but it was actually quite delicious and I sucked it back in a second! Also I put in an order for the edamame which sounded really good in the description -- "woodfired" and spicy miso butter -- but when they came they were really spicy and the woodfired element was making me cough, strangely enough -- I couldn't finish them! Finally after waiting forever we got the drinks and apps. It then took another 15 minutes to order our food. Again it was busy and my friend and I were catching up so it wasn't a big deal. We wanted a fairly light dinner so we just ordered one roll -- the Fuego, which had yellowtail and a whitefish, chili, cilantro and cucumber plus a pico de gallo on top -- it was very flavorful -- although a bit spicy for those who are spice wimps like me. Overall, thought it was a good meal but wasn't blown away.

We ordered the medium seafood tower which is normally my favorite and even added on some extra crab and pasta to finish in the sauce. Unfortunately, I took one bite into a scallop and the taste of ammonia burst into my mouth --a sign of spoiled seafood. We sent back the scallops and the chef agreed with us and got shrimp as a replacement. Scallops are my favorite part and the bite was absolutely putrid so that was sadly a waste of almost $300 for that one dish. We also ordered the New York steak to share, medium rare, and it was undercooked and leaned more rare/blue but by that time my appetite had really gone down so we just took it to go. The waitress almost forgot to take off the replacement shrimp until we had to wave her down to get it corrected. Overall, a disappointing dinner considering the price point. I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be checking their seafood for freshness.
