I reserved some equipment a month ago with a deposit. Two days before I was to pick it up, I got a call from Stellar telling me that the person currently renting the equipment "still needed it" and so they had to cancel my rental, or I could "pick another day". I explained that, no I could not pick another day, I needed it specifically for this weekend and that's why I reserved it a month in advance. Again I was told, "well, he be havin' it for 2 months and he still needs it". But I need it, that's why I reserved it a month in advance. "Well, I'm sorry. You can pick another day." The manager's excuse was "it happens in this industry, and that's just how it is." Um, no. That's not how it is "in this industry", nor is that how professionals should do business. The dude should have been made to bring it back as it was RESERVED by another customer. Not my problem he miss calculated his job time frame. While she did find another company who had the equipment I needed, it wasn't until the next day. What if nothing was available? I had already spent two hours finding the equipment I needed after they dropped the ball. We have a project that must be done and I planned far enough in advance, like a professional should do. I would never recommend this company. Horrible business practices. She was blatantly unapologetic and I got the impression she felt I should be grateful she last second found another place that had the equipment. Maybe your employee should have started off with that option yesterday instead leaving me hanging. read more
