She brought ponchos so we could continue on as it rained. It was beautiful to learn about and see this neighborhood through the eyes of someone who grew up here. Toni knows so much history and seemed to know so many of the people, too! The tour has so much food - I was honestly more than full at the end and I didn't even finish all of my portions. I think it was a really good range of drinks, desserts, and food. Even though that coffee cup looks small, that's a full serving size and it was strong! I really really appreciate that this tour not only accommodated for vegetarians but also chose options for me that were realllllly good. Instead of the cubano, I had these fried plantain cups stuffed with veggies. They were SO good and seasoned well! And the spinach and cheese empanada was also amazing. My friend who got the meat options also loved her food. This tour is the perfect way to learn more about Cuban history, the history of the neighborhood, see all the street art, watch a game at domino park, and experience some of the best food in Miami. I cannot recommend this enough!!!

The time went by so quickly and it wouldn't have been the same experience without Mariela as our guide. She is so passionate and knowledgeable. Her energy was so upbeat. I think this a great tour for visitors who want to learn about a culture that shapes Miami as well as locals who want to learn about a neighborhood they may not know the ins and outs of. Alex our instructor was fun, engaging, and an intelligent instructor that broke the dances down for even beginners to follow easily. We first had bachata lesson at 8pm, followed by complimentary mojito and Cuban bites, then wrapped up with salsa lesson at 9:20pm. I wished salsa lesson was a full hour, followed by more fun salsa dancing with instructor dancing alongside (you know, cuz regular student folks won't keep dancing salsa on their own without pros' boosting presence) because afterwards everyone pretty much stopped dancing salsa after the last song after lesson ended. Then it was regular club time. Good vibe and we had fun. The wristband we got allowed free entry to the club downstairs so we could enjoy the cabaret performance and backstage live music band a bit too. Overall I would recommend Alex and Salsa Mia without any reservation for anyone with an open mind looking to have a good dancing time! Try it - don't be scared as there's no need to be! Appetizers were tasty, and enough for a couple of helpings. For the free drink, they accommodated the request for a virgin mojito. The captain handled it well. The service staff did the best they could, but it was obviously stressful for everyone to make such big changes last minute before sailing. All of our plans still worked out. Overall a fantastic experience on a brand new ship, specially designed for Caribbean or warm weather cruising with extended outdoor deck spaces for lounging and pools on lower decks in addition to upper deck so you can love the shade or the sun depending on the time of day. Fun rides and games great for older kids and adults like the Tee Time Mini Golf, Drop Dry Slide, Twin Racing Aqua Coasters, Glow Court Interactive Games, and an entire arcade with Duck Pin Bowling. Dinner options are spread out across two main dining rooms, a buffet, an Indulge food hall with international cuisine, local pub & cafe, and 6 additional speciality restaurants. Casual clothing is welcome everywhere on ship and all nights. The current cruise director likes to theme nights according to decades, plus a glow party night- main late night activity after main stage performers is dance party with DJ or sitting in a lounge listening to musicians or comedian. Excellent thermal spa worth the extra spend for the trip if you need quiet spaces to escape and relax, but doesn't offer any true hydro-massage, mostly heat therapies and cold contrast therapies.

However since we paid tripple that price I have to be way more critical. The staff makes it extra special. They were all friendly and had the "I can do it for you attitude." Kudos to the staff. Our "up-graded" room facing half ocean/city was tiny, a tad worn, had a very nice view, and non impressive toiletrees. The worst part of our room was the side of the hotel we were on. Our room was on the industrial exhaust fans side and it was extremely noisy. Had to keep our balcony door closed to drown out the noise. The location of the hotel, as others mentioned is ideal. Now here is the scary part...we got stuck on the elevator two times. It wasn't a long time but enough to scare me especially since I am very claustrophobic. I ended up taking the stairs to the 9th floor the rest of our stay. They did fix the elevator but this happened to quite a few guests and they didn't shut the elevator. Our complimentary breakfast (free with my Marriott status) was not the best. Breakfast is served in the attached Mexican restaurant which is not owned by Marriott. It is not a buffet. Small menu with the basics. Food was fair. We enjoyed the pool and the short walk to the beach. The pool restaurant has the best hotdogs! And we also enjoyed the quinoa salad.

I asked repeatedly for an early, 2pm check-in. When I go there around 2:15, the front desk area was in chaos. There were 2 people being waited on and I was first in line, but had to wait for ~10 minutes to get any attention. Even with repeated communication, the room was not ready. My kids were heading into melt down mode. Not a great start. I got a call at 2:45 that my room was ready. We headed back around 4 and then it was the same chaos, and very long wait to get our 1 piece of luggage. Once upstairs, the hotel is very neat and tidy and our room was a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, facing the bay and city. The condition and working order of the room, bathroom, and kitchenette were excellent. We loved the minimalist aesthetic. They did have a happy bday card and some chocolates for me in my room - a very nice touch. The main event downstairs is the pool area. They had a DJ playing vibey lounge music and it was packed with people chilling and drinking as mature adults. Definitely not a wild spring break scene. The pool is heated, too. The best is being in the pool as the sun sets - very magical as the place goes from day to night. Great hotel - lousy front desk. I reviewed the restaurant, Baia, separately - great waterfront vibes, so-so food, and disorganized service.

MUSTY room. Disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it…read more I booked a 3-night stay (Sunday-Wednesday... so no partying, all "school nights," and not during any major Miami events like Winter Music Conference, Miami Open, Formula 1, Boat Show, or SoBe Wine & Food Festival). This was a quiet work trip. As someone who grew up in Miami, I always thought of the Mondrian as a solid, above-average hotel. It was reputable, with good hospitality, nice amenities, all that jazz. Well... this stay was disastrous. The room was musty and clearly not properly cleaned. There were countless stains, dust bunnies, scratches and cracks on surfaces, and different hairs in multiple areas of the room. Just overall extremely unpleasant. I genuinely felt uncomfortable staying there. The robe in the closet had several holes (not small. very obvious, literally the first thing you see, and they still hung it up like it was acceptable). The toilet barely flushed, consistent plumbing issues. The bathroom had visible oxidation on the shower head and hose. The ceiling shower head and one of the lightbulbs were broken, and several other lights were dim. Front desk experience? Honestly shocking. I'd expect this level of attention at a low-tier chain, not here. Staff behind the counter were scrolling Instagram Reels or TikTok (with volume) while guests were standing there. Just incredibly careless. After my first night, I went to the front desk and asked if all rooms were this unkept and in such poor condition. They acted surprised. I showed them photos (with the dust, sticky residue on the bathroom floor, hair in multiple places) and they said they'd notify housekeeping to properly clean the room. Well... housekeeping never showed up. Not once during my entire 3-night, 4-day stay. Super disappointing, because this hotel has potential and used to be great. I even overheard another group at breakfast talking about how disappointing their room was and another woman in the elevator also had a similar experience... so clearly not an isolated issue. Valet was also hit or miss. The guys mostly just standing around, sometimes opening the door, sometimes not. No help with luggage when I arrived. Just an overall lack of training, standards, and any real sense of guest experience not just with valet but everyone else. Expect the restaurant staff, they were wonderful. And to be clear, l wasn't in a standard room. I booked a junior suite, and the only redeeming quality was the space (which was not properly used so it felt awkward honestly). Everything else? Terrible. Would absolutely not recommend. The property is in rough shape, and worse... it feels like nobody cares to fix it.

My trip to Miami started with a challenge: I arrived at an Airbnb only to realize I was never given a check-in code. After calling customer service and waiting 45 minutes, I was told the "owner" claimed they didn't even own the property. I then moved to a different hotel, but it failed to meet the expectations set by its reviews. Finally, I checked into Hotel Chelsea, and it was beyond great. I'd give the atmosphere a 4.8 out of 5; they even have an on-site bar and restaurant. The staff is truly what made the experience amazing. The hotel has a vibrant Cuban vibe with locals from Cuba, making it feel like a little slice of Havana. Between the beautiful pictures on the walls and the music, every detail captured the essence of Cuba. The hotel was incredibly clean, and I really should have stayed there from the start. Let's talk about the food: I ordered the seafood pasta, which featured very large shrimp, mussels, clams, and scallops. I could tell they were high-quality, authentic scallops because of their natural, irregular edges. I paired the meal with a cold beer, and the pasta was easily a 4.7 out of 5. It was the perfect meal to fuel a night of dancing in Miami! I highly recommend this place for both staying and eating.

However, added up altogether, it was not the experience we were looking for here: - Weird smell throughout second floor and our room - Loud! I had earplugs on me, but complimentary earplugs would be useful.
