Miller's Rent-All

Miller's Rental Yelp Review…read more All I can say in one word to describe Miller's Equipment & Rent All Inc. is "WOW". On Friday, I arrived at 4:55 PM. They close promptly at 5 PM. They could tell that I was having a pretty "I-5 northbound Frantically Frazzled Frenzied Frenetic Friday." I had scoured the World Wide Web for an equipment rental company in the Seattle SMSA and the only equipment rental company that rented a Hammond B3 Organ and a one-person, four-piece moving dolly is Miller's on Highway 99 (between 230th ST SW and 228th ST SW). Miller's is located on the east side of Highway 99. The entrance to Miller's is one-way and is the second driveway on your right once you cross 230th ST SW as you continue heading northbound on Highway 99. The exit is located near the southeast intersection of 228th ST SW and Highway 99 (please see the two screenshots that I've uploaded). Once you pass 230th ST SW, you'll want to slow down a bit, or you will miss the entrance. Having been Frantically Frazzled Frenzied Frenetic Friday driving, I accidentally entered via the exit driveway. Yup, I missed the entrance. Luckily, there weren't many customer or employee vehicles in front of the building. I was able to park my truck at the front door and was not chastised by any of the staff awaiting the 5 PM start of their weekend. Their process for getting an equipment rental quote is pretty straightforward and can be found on their website. Select the rental category and follow the prompts. For me, it was moving and loading equipment rentals. Here's the link: https://www.millersrentall.com/revieworder.asp. I received an email with the equipment availability and quote from Emily. The reason I went with renting a moving dolly is purely financial. The cost of purchasing a one-person Hammond Organ moving dolly, on sale, is about $975. My daily rate was $33.21. Back to the rental. Kegan was really chill, which dialed my BPM from 130 to 65. It's now 5:04 PM. Kegan tells me to wait by my vehicle. He dispatches two of his colleagues that load my dollies into my truck with the two canvas straps. I said to Kegan, "I'll see you in 24 tomorrow." I do my move with the Miller's dolly by myself. The Hammond's weight is 475 lbs. The equipment was perfect. I was able to load and move the Hammond without any issue. Afterwards, I decided that I should follow up on a text message that I received earlier from CVS about protecting moi and my family from this year's flu bug. I received my flu shot this past Friday evening. Since I'm a musician and around a lot of strangers, it is important and wise to inoculate myself (someday, y'all will have to ask me about my last gig in Los Angeles, March 18, 2020, which was the eve of the statewide stay-at-home order ) and protect my family. I had a slight reaction to this year's vaccine formula. I slept pretty much all of Saturday and Sunday. I had planned on returning the dolly on Saturday. I mentioned to Kegan, who also checked me in, that my flu vaccination caused an adverse reaction which delayed my rental return. Kegan didn't need to do this. He says to me, "Don't worry, I'll split the difference with you." His generosity, kindness, customer care, and EQ (emotional quotient) were/are immeasurable! Rick Hedges, I hope you are reading this. There's a lot to be said about family-owned and operated businesses. Especially family-operated companies that have served our community since 1959! Wow. I plan on encouraging all of my contractor friends to rent ONLY from Miller's Equipment & Rent All Inc.

Front desk staff are consistently friendly and helpful, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, the…read moreexperience with the team loading equipment was a completely different story. I rented an aerator and mentioned that I had never used one before. The staff did take a moment to explain how it works, which was helpful. I also asked at the front desk whether I should use a trailer to transport it, and was told it shouldn't be necessary since they could load it into my truck using their ramp. Three employees loaded the aerator into the bed of my truck (with a canopy), rolled it in, and we closed the tailgate. As I was slowly pulling out to get onto Highway 99, the machine rolled forward, breaking through the canopy glass and shattering the rear window of my truck. What's most frustrating is that no one mentioned that the aerator can freely roll or that it needs to be secured during transport. For someone who has never used this type of equipment, that's critical information. When I returned to the store, I was told, "it has wheels and it'll move," which came across as dismissive. The owner pointed to a sign stating they are not responsible for damage during loading. While I understand liability policies, this situation could have easily been prevented with a simple warning or basic guidance. I've been a long-time customer and regularly rent equipment here, which makes this especially disappointing. I expect better communication and care, especially when safety and potential damage are involved.
