Customer service seemed annoyed by the amount of questions that we had to clarify for pick up and drop off. However they seemed friendlier in email and in person. Pickup and drop off was quick, even though there was a slight hiccup in noting who was to pick up our items. The candleabras we rented were absolutely gorgeous. We had a bed of flowers sitting atop the candleabras and it fit perfectly. The linen was shimmery in silk and didnt feel cheap. The napkins held up the food stains well. Overall, a good place to rent. The price matches the quality you get. I would recommend communicating via email. They seem to be annoyed for questions via the phone. read more

Whatever you do, do not use Grand for any reason. If I could give zero stars I would. Back in February, I signed to rent a dance floor and tent from them for my wedding in July. Communication was off from the start - Brenna often didn't reply to my emails unless I called in or followed up. I was very clear from the start that we may end up canceling the tent if the weather looks good (knowing we would still have to probably pay the full cost anyways). It was always a backup plan incase rain was in the forecast. Brenna reassured my planner and I that this was fine and the delivery fees listed were worst case scenario. A week before the wedding, Brenna casually mentions that the dancefloor is unable to be put outside because of venue specific reasons. I confirmed with the venue back in February that a dancefloor could in fact be put outside, so I'm not sure why Brenna did not think so. A lot of back and forth later and they finally agree to the following: 1. Dancefloor can be put up outside without the tent covering it if there is no rain in the forecast 2. We can call on the Friday before the wedding to cancel the tent if the forecast looks good. So that Friday comes and the forecast looks good, so my planned decides to call them up to cancel the tent setup. However, they decided to setup both the tent and dance floor on Friday morning without notifying either of us. When we call to insist they need to come and take the tent down, they basically say it's not their problem and they can't send a crew out until Tuesday. They also start saying they won't allow their dancefloor to be uncovered because there's a small chance of rain Sunday morning. Not once do they apologize or admit there was a miscommunication on their end, instead Jill threatens to cancel our contract entirely and tear down everything because I was understandably frustrated on the phone with her. Again, this was a day before my wedding. More back and forth with Jill before she finally agrees to send someone to take the tent down and schedules a crew to take the dance floor down on Saturday night - although it was going to cost us $500 extra. $500 extra just for the original services we wanted back in February!! I've used Grand Rentals for years. The quality of their items and, sadly, customer service has changed. I was given a delivery window of 8 am to 6 pm the Saturday before our event. Their delivery truck was barreling down my driveway at 7 am! There was no phone call (I had requested a call),) and my husband and I were in bed asleep. We had to run outside to move cars and direct them. I'm sure no one in my neighborhood was happy about waking up at 7 a.m. on a Saturday to a very noisy (beeping) delivery truck. The chairs were very dusty, and all had to be cleaned. Many of the plates were scratched. After speaking to my rep at GR., she spoke with management, and they offered us $70 off for the dirty chairs. I rented a tent, tables, chairs, linen, plates and other items from Grand Event (GER) for an event on October 11th. I was pleased with the quality almost everything provided, especially the linens and glassware. I also had a positive experience with the equipment drop off and pick up. The exception was the 20'x20' tent, which had a significant number of pinholes in the roof (see attached photo). When this was shared with GER the day before our event, the response was "glad you will have beautiful weather" (see transcript in photos). It was not until it started to rain on the day of the event that GRE responded. GRE showed up after tables, flowers and place settings were already in place and while the caterer was setting up food. They offered to get on ladders to repair the roof holes, but it would involve completely disrupting the tables and delaying food setup for an event starting 30 minutes later. The effort and stress for me around this issue was not fun and GRE made it my problem to solve. I would not recommend tent rentals from GRE. I asked her if I could get a general time of when she might expect my rentals to be delivered the Friday before our event and she said anytime between 9 AM and 6 PM. What??? Are you really going to give me a 8 hour time window? We had our set up for our wedding Friday between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM rehearsal being at 4 PM. We wanted to ideally get the tables and chairs delivered by at the latest 1 PM so we would have enough time to configure how the tables and chairs were going to be set up for the wedding, which might take some trial and error. I kindly asked if we could get a delivery sometime before 1 PM and she completely shut me down and took no regard to how it would inconvenience our entire event. If they were to deliver the tables and chairs at 4:30 PM, We wouldn't even be there as we would be at our rehearsal dinner. It was not an option to set up the next morning as the bridal party would not be available they would be getting ready for the wedding. I explained this all to her, and she did not give a rip. Your telling me it's normal for customers to have zero idea when you are delivering the rentals, additionally you aren't willing to help a customer out with a time window request. What can i say about this company and the staff it employs. I think I'm on year five or six or maybe longer than that. Every year i rentals tables, chairs and table covers, i walk in to a happy team who greets me with a smile even when they are busy. I say the usual and they look me up, review my order and set the day and time for delivery and pick up and I'm done and leave with a bye and thank you. Delivery guys arrive deliver most times Christmas eve again with a smile and polite attitude and hello even in the rain. they drop the tables chairs and cloths off in the garage and they are gone. They return and pick up again with a smile and hello and thank you and they are gone. I love the fact they give me a call and say were here or we will be there in 10 minutes. As i said the service has never changed on both sides in all the years i have been doing business with them and i feel important to them even though i am a once a year customer. I booked a few tables and chairs from my son's 6th Bday that was planned for Sep 23. My kid got tested positive for COVID on 20th Sep and we had to call-off the party. I called up Grand Rental on the same day telling about the situation and asked them to refund or issue credit for future use so that we could get the items later when we replan our party. To my surprise they said 'no'. It seems the company policy does not have any provision for such special situations and they cant refund the amount because it was too close to the event(had surpassed the refund period). All our other caterers including food, cake, decorator understood the concern and did not charge me anything for cancelation order but Grand Rental team said they cannot do that and will have to forgo the order amount. Rather they asked me to cancel the booking. I had used Grand event in 2021 for same Bday event. It went well, no complains. Infact, I found the workers in the warehouse were very helpful. But this episode left me surprised and thinking that this company is making money of such situations where it actually demands human consideration rather pushing for a company policy. read more

I rented simple tables and chairs for an event from Grand. They were flexible about delivery, adjusting their 8-5 low cost delivery to 9-5 so it would work for our venue. They also managed the delivery and pick-up days to work with their hours. When I started setting up the tables I found one that was broken. I called them. We have had two large events in the past few months, both seamless. Customer service, installments of party tents, punctuality, equipment were VERY GOOD. The only surprise we had was the food pan that rests inside the water pan was only a little over an inch deep. We had "big food" and a lot of guests. We rented enough chaffer set ups to serve down both sides of the long 16ft buffet table. With minimal pan space, two people volunteered to help me replenish the food pans. The idea was to have all food on deck so we could all enjoy and not fiddle with the food. So, heads up, ask for a deep food pan. The only reason for a shallow food pan would be for eggs benedict or a similar presentation. Also, arm yourself with three times the amount of glycol (gel) fuel. The chaffer sets came with minimal fuel. Optimal would be a four or six hour warming. Once you set your buffet up with boiling water in the water pan, it is nice to set the gel fuel on low to keep the food warm for many return visits to the buffet. read more

This was a difficult review to write because this was the vendor we struggled the most with. Let's start with an excerpt from their web page: "Our highly-experienced staff will guide you from the first event consultation to the efficient installation of your rental equipment for a variety of events..." So when my husband and I went to our appointment to pick out linens and dishes for our wedding, we were kind of flabbergasted when the "highly experienced staff" just pointed out where samples of everything was in the showroom and went back to their desk leaving the two of us to our own devices. That could hardly be considered being "guide[ed] from the first event consultation". Can you imagine going to a caterer's office and being led to the kitchen and told to cook what you think is good and then the chef disappears? We also had a hiccup getting definitive information about the availability of a piece of cooking equipment. Everything got sorted in the end after our venue owner reached out to Grand's owner via personal channels and installation and pick up were pretty flawless, less 40 missing butter knives that Grand rushed out. But if the owner hadn't intervened would the outcome have been the same? read more

I am not certain on all contracts, but I had the opportunity to change/add/subtract/cancel all the way until (2) weeks before our wedding, and they could not have been more accommodating in adjusting our rental agreement and hanging up lights. They also came as a preferred Vendor of "Wisteria Hall/UW Arboretum" + our caterer "Pyramid Catering"...DEFINITELY recommend using Pyramid Catering and Grand Events together. Sooooo much simplicity when others can talk on your behalf without you trying to describe what you want and where. All in all, Grand Events definitely fit our need and budget. I changed my order ~30 times over the course of 3 months leading up to the event, and they had a quick turn-around on updating the invoice each time. My main contact was Jennifer, and I also corresponded with Jill. Their responses were timely, they gave advice when I was unsure about logistics, and they were friendly throughout the whole process. Despite so many changes, everything came in perfect quantity and order. Prior to booking GER, I did a quote through a national competitor but going with GER saved me $1k! Also, the delivery window is the whole day, but if you call the day prior to delivery/pick-up, they are able to narrow it down to a 2-hour window. I called on both occasions, and the delivery/pick-up crew arrived right at the start of the 2-hour ETA. I'm super happy with my experience with GER! And happy to support a local business! read more

A few months a go I rented some equipment for an event with a new and very large client with the potential for big future business. My rental included two large coffee brewers. Turn out one of the brewers did not work. I called them to discuss the matter but their manager was busy with festivals going on that weekend. I was told the manager would call me back on Monday or Tuesday so we could resolve the issue. I had to comp my coffee service and lost $500 in sales and who knows how much in future business because they did not check the equipment before handing it over. By the next week it had slipped my mind. I never received a call back! Today I needed to rent some equipment for a charity event raising money for lymphoma research. Remembering that this was never resolved I called them to see what we could do to resolve this so we could move on and continue doing business. Their response was shocking to say the least I extended an olive branch to them and was going to ask them to let me rent at no cost, or a discount, as a show of good faith a Cambro warmer and a heat lamp for my charity event. I never got the chance to ask them for anything. They told me the case was closed. And the were in no way responsible for my losses. And was told they credited me the cost of the pot, and the "case was closed end of discussion" then they hung up the phone on me before I could even discuss any arrangement to settle this issue. And move forward amicably. No apologies no "sorry" I don't like to write reviews but 22 years in the banquet business. As a professional I have never been treated so poorly and I am shocked to be treated with this blatant disrespect and lack of care for something so small as a broken coffee brewer. read more

I had a good experience with them. We rented a large coffee urn, coffee server, and plastic pitchers for our wedding. It was easy to reserve and and pick up and drop of was a breeze. They were quick to answer me and the pick and and drop off time period was very generous. The only complaint that I have is that I forgot to pick up the rentals the day before the wedding (with everything going on it slipped my mind) and I did not remember till the morning of! I rented 50 gold chargers along with other items from Grand Event Rentals for my event this weekend. My husband returned the items with no issues yesterday but today I received an email from Jill that one of the chargers was broken. I replied to Jill requesting photos of the charger and when I did not receive a response I went in and was provided this "broken charger" (see photo-my finger is pointing to the break). When my husband picked up the chargers against my gut instinct I did not have him take photos of the way the chargers were packaged. As I was discussing the chargers with a woman at the front desk two other women sitting at other desks behind her would repeatedly pop up at random and start to speak really loudly about possible scenarios in which we could have caused the charger to break including but not limited to: 1.) Stacking the chargers on top of each other (which is how they were packaged and provided to us) 2.) Packaging them in the wrong container which they could not fit in (they were returned in the container they came in and they fit just fine) 3.) Carrying a charger by the rim (not sure how else you would carry it) I called my husband and my day of coordinators and they all can attest that the chargers were returned in the exact way that we received them. Thankfully it was only one charger so we paid for it and called it a day but if this is something they repeatedly do to other customers claiming that items are broken then they must be making a killing. I've never received such terrible customer service in the way that the woman at the front desk (brunette and wearing glasses) spoke to me that a few times I had to ask her to repeat herself in awe of her condescending attitude. I am now the proud owner of 1 gold plastic charger lol! I was never sent any sort of notification or invoice or statement regarding the missing items, and when inquiring them on this matter when it should have either gone to the zoo or the coordinators for mishandling this item, they (Jill) just shrugged their shoulders and decided that it should ultimately be my credit card to be charged because that's what was on their file. BEWARE this company will probably scam you. I ordered white chairs for a bridal shower I was hosting this summer and they came completely rusted. I called to ask for different ones as I had someone else receive the initial delivery. At first the company couldn't deliver new ones, then they could for a cost, then it my fault because I should have known they were outdoor chairs?? Eventually they said that they would deliver new ones to "be nice". Jill was running their office at the time and clearly did not know how to communicate like a professional or service customer issues . Nothing in the website's pictures or description indicated the chair's were in poor condition. After many excuses Jill also noted that I could have come into the showroom to see the chairs. So I asked, "Do you keep rusted chairs on display?" As expected she had no intelligent response. The worst part of the whole thing was that they agreed to send me new chairs but then charged my credit card without my knowledge!! They also added some other unexplained charges. I spoke with my lawyers and because of the language on their website and invoice, they can do this. It is a common problem with businesses like this. We used GER for our wedding. Seemingly everything behind the scenes went well. The rented glassware, table settings, linens and dance floor were delivered and picked up in fine order from our home venue - a private kitchen and ballroom, in our condo building. Fully one month after our event, our wedding planner received an invoice for 25 assorted broken/lost/missing glasses and other table ware. One month! How can we possibly respond to their claim or trust their accounting process if it takes them one month to get us an invoice? I called their office and asked why it takes one month to inform us that inventory was missing. The answer was little more than "we're busy." I asked if they could send me images of the missing bits, so that I may better identify them if they still happen to be sitting in our venue. No... They did not have any images beyond the generic photos on their website, nor were they willing to forward any photos of the exact pieces they claimed were missing. I searched our venue and found 5 or 6 odd glasses and one cup, not nearly the 25 missing pieces they claim to be missing, not any of them likely belong to GER. They would not confirm ownership from the photos that I had emailed to them. Square one... From the outside, it seems to be a case of a business with a customer service problem. They have no compunction about turning their administrative and/or managerial problem into their customers' burden. I called and asked how this could be resolved. They said they would check into it. Never got a call back, no email, nothing. Now, over three months later, our wedding planner receives an overdue invoice for the same missing glassware. Awful, angering, disappointing. read more
