Wefted hair extensions you can buy yourself, or from Elsa, are weaved in with undetectable, beautiful, long lasting results, which usually last me for about 2 and 1/2 or 3 months and are safer than those messy tape in weft hair extensions, and an alternative to clip ins. In the long run, weaves are more affordable and still give me the same acquired beautiful results without paying the high cost that is essential to Great Lengths. Wefts at high quality should last for at least two installations, or six months. I get two rows which is one bag of hair. In a year, I pay less than $1000 in total for hair and maintenance, and if I were to chose Great Lengths, I would be looking at about $2000 for the first visit and can only imagine the hidden maintenance costs. I am Caucasian, but I prefer the beautiful work and the ways of dedicated Afro Stylists. Elsa tops the list out of all experiences and won't ruin your hair or trick you into paying more like other stylists who have let me down. She is the gem of Vancouver and I recommend her to the picky or anyone tired of paying too much! Elsa is highly skilled and is an artist when it comes to hair weaves and carefully attaches wefts of hair to very small corn rows braided carefully along the scalp without causing pain or scabbing, or leaving noticeable bumps that I have experienced at other solons. Elsa is also a very nice person to talk to and she said that she is very picky herself when others do her hair, so it makes sense that she strives for excellent results; for that reason she makes sure my hair is done beautifully, which is why I keep going back to herI There aren't many stylists who will do hair with such lasting results at such a reasonable price so beautifully like Elsa does. There was once I had a small issue, but Elsa said that she could fix it free of charge and even charged me less the next time she did my hair. She is located close to the Comercail Broadway Sky Train and is very busy so it is usually best to pre-book. I have been getting weaves for close to 10 years, and I highly recommend Elsa for weave extensions, colour matching hair to extensions, hair cuts, as well as corn rows. When Elsa does my weaves they stay in for the longest amount of time and are not falling out after three weeks or one month of wear. Elsa makes sure you get your moneys worth and has probably saved me money rather than other stylists who have pulled business stunts so that I pay more! For example, when an experienced stylist who usually is amazing does my hair and the work unexpectedly falls out in a month so that I get iit re-done at the same time she has an expensive, newly received product displayed for me to see, I know that I am seen only as an oblivious $ sign; then, I begin to seek an honest stylist. Elsa is honest, not not outrageously expensive, and it's worth paying for her quality care rather than having your hair destroyed like what I experienced at All Class Beauty. You walk out of Elsa's salon with your hair extensions done and included in the cost they are properly blended in and styled with either a touch of curl ironed beautifully, or flat ironed straight so that you leave her solon with your hair done knowing the final result! It sucks when I have just spent $200 in a salon only to have to hide my hair till I style it at home sadly realizing that my extensions need a cut and more time and money to be blended! For anyone seriously wanting beautiful long thick hair done with care should talk to Elsa. I also recommend Elsa for any new people who want to avoid experiencing hassles like unsatisfactory results driven by greed; getting charged extra for mistakes or serious damage without any consideration to try to make things better without paying another fee. However, there is following all business protocol rules as laid down by the Provincial Government, and then carrying them too far. While Lather is small in area size, the stations are well spaced. Sanitizer is available upon entry and masks are worn at all times by both the client and the hairdresser. What I find disturbing is that the owner of Lather appears to be unable to distinguish between normal or expected levels of Covid vigilance, and unrealistic or delusional paranoid beliefs and behavior. The front entry door is locked and even though there may only be one client in the Salon, you are told that you cannot come in to sit in the waiting area (which is empty) for the 5 minutes until your appointment. You have to stay outside in the rain, wind and cold until your Stylist is available to unlock the door and let you in. Not the best treatment of clients who are supporting your business, nor would this unnecessary practice entice future customers. JM

Not only did she ignore my request, but she also chopped my extensions into a much shorter, uneven cut. The result is a flat, lifeless style that looks like the worst haircut I've ever had. As someone with nearly 20 years of experience wearing hair extensions, this is hands down the most unprofessional service I've encountered. While the salon offered to have someone call me and attempt a fix, when I asked how they planned to remedy the overcutting of such expensive hair, there was no solution.
