Stopped by a few times off and on when in the area and the last time was very disappointing. They cut my nails so short I barely have any nails. Also, I noticed what others have mentioned this time about the pricing. I didn't want to make a scene for the extra few dollars. But when I asked at the time when paying( because the owner/mgr said a higher price) I got a story about it how I was incorrect. However, when we were leaving we checked the main price board on the wall and realized what we thought the price was we were right & were overcharged a few dollars. Wish I had read the reviews before dropping in. Owner obviously has a reputation of being shady. What a joke! A regular pedicure ($30.00)is now a foot wash with a calf massage and a shoulder squeeze. Picked a color and was told there was a $3.00 surcharge for that one cause it lasts longer? When I asked if the girl was going to clip the remaining dead skin dead skin on the top of my toe she told me it was not her job. She just cuts the dead skin around the cuticle? When I went to register to pay the owner she charged $35.00 to my debit card. I asked why the extra $2.00. Because I wasn't paying cash?! Back to North Bergen's Latin Salons. A bit of a drive but you get a serious $30. pedicure and you come out with heels as soft as a baby's ass. You should be ashamed of yourselves. It will catch up with you if it hasn't already~ Shady lady...it's not the cost in the end. It's your lack of transparency and the terrible job the girl did. Are you satisfied with her job. I recently received a gel manicure and gel pedicure from this salon. The website says this combination is $55, however, I was charged $75. I mentioned having slight calluses on my heels and perhaps there was an up charge of $20 for this, if that is the case, it wasn't worth it as my feet are pretty soft to begin with and nothing they did was noticeable. The next day I noticed that almost all of the toenails on one foot were crooked, one nail had polish that was see through and the polish was not applied evenly and on the other foot, one of the nails was noticeably longer than the other nails. I called to advise of these issues and was told to come in so they could fix it. I hired a babysitter at $20/hour and drove to the salon to have the shoddy work fixed. I came in and after they clipped my toenails so they were even and repainted my toenails I was told I had to pay another $25. I explained the situation as indicated above and was still told that since they had to clip and repaint my toenails, I had to pay again. Needless to say, I don't recommend this salon and I won't be going back. read more

Came with a semi-large group for a friend's birthday (we called ahead so the owner was aware). Services were good but the owner charged a different price for everyone who got the same service. I was up charged $10 for 'callous removal' that I didn't ask for. Another person in our group was charged $12 for 'callous removal' that she also didn't ask for. Two others paid the regular pedicure price (all four of us got the same exact pedicure). We would have no problem paying extra for services but it was not discussed at all before it was time to pay. Seems that the owner has done this before based on the reviews. None of us will be returning. Update to the owner's response: Again, at no point during my service was I asked if I'd like to have the callous removal - I emphasized that I was only interested in receiving a standard pedicure. The woman at the register who charged us (who I'm assuming is the owner) never spoke with the girls who performed the pedicures before or during the time she ripped us off to confirm that we were asked if we would like extra services. The right thing to do would've been to settle this during the payment, but instead, you're just trying to save face after you made an extra buck off of us. Do better. read more

Very disappointed by their customer service and inaccurate signs. I went there yesterday for a gel mani, which was great, she was super nice. I saw a happy birthday to you sign and next to it said free regular pedicure. My birthday was the next day so I said I'd come back for my free pedicure. The girl and the owner said nothing when I confirmed that promotion at checkout. I couldn't believe when I went there the next day, on my birthday, that they didn't honor it. The owner acted like I made it up and said it's for the customers one year anniversary. I advised she correct the sign since it is false advertising and she laughed it off. No sorry, no happy birthday, not a care. So I left, took a picture of the sign (see attached) and would like to public to be properly informed in hopes that they improve their customer service and postings. read more

I had an appointment for two people at 5:00pm today. We arrived at 4:55pm and was told that the staff left. I advised the woman who was completing a manicure that I called at 12:26pm. She questioned if I had the right place. I proceeded to show her my call log on my cellphone. She said "everyone" left. Store hours indicate the salon closes at 5:30pm. Never returning as there's plenty of other nail salons in the area. read more

Since I don't treat myself to a good manicure or pedicure often, I tend to be a salon hopper. But i have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at Stella each time I've come, since their grand opening last year! I like that standard pedicures come with a choice of soak (lavender or green tea)-- honestly, feel so special! In the past regular manicures were great. Today I had time to get my first gel mani ever and so loved it. Chloe taking care of my nails while being lovely to talk to was just icing on the experiences. This mom of 2 got a well-deserved grown up break before picking up kids from school! The facility is clean and pleasing to the eye. I came to this place because I had a coupon and figured I would try it. I made an appointment and I still had to wait because they overbooked for my 2pm appointment. I chose a color, sat down and then still waited even more. The lady rushed through my gel manicure and was rough when removing my previous gel color. After she did my nails, which took about 30 minutes, I had to wait another 25 minutes just for my pedicure. Once I sat for my pedicure, it took the lady 15 minutes to come and start. Let's just say through my 25 minute pedicure, I had three different ladies do my toes. They were all over the place and didn't even massage me. I was so eager to get out of there since I was there for 2 hours and only spent half that time actually doing what I was there for. Go to Rashelle nails down the street, they are my all time favorite and really take care of you there ! read more

Three stars because the main woman consistently over charges and try's to get away with it. It's unfortunate because the women who work there do a great job but when you hand someone your credit card for a service that is $30 and the receipt comes back with $35 on multiple different occasions you get a little fed up. I'm not the only person who feels this way as I have talked to friends who have stopped going to this nail salon for that exact reason. I don't feel comfortable knowing that someone runs their business in such a shady way. If you're advertising something at a certain price then charge for that exact price don't try to be sneaky for an extra five bucks, it's distasteful. I came to Stella nails for a pedicure with my mom and called ahead of time to make an appointment, the wait was short, the staff was super friendly and the salon looked very clean and relaxing. The girls who did our pedicures were super gentle. They took time massaging and exfoliating, finishing off with a hot towel and even did a wax peel. Only downside was the parking, although that's what's to be expected on a busy street. Overall excellent service! Will definitely come back to try their manicures! read more

Friendly staff, reasonable prices if you're willing to pay in cash, plus it's clean, e.g. for each new customer, they use new tools as well as fresh liners for the footbaths. I usually just get regular pedicures and manicures--not gel, tips, etc.--so that's all I can comment on, but this is my favorite nail salon on Bloomfield Avenue! read more
