This is a portion of the email I received from the owner, it is to long to post on Yelp, their rules not mine. As of now she is not willing to refund my money. She brings into question the validity of my claim. I had to wait over 2 weeks for my lips to heal. I contacted Living Social first to ask for a refund and went rounds with them. When they wouldn't I contacted her and it took her a very long time to get back to me. I never received a call or a text from her. I also got married on October 4th and then left the country for my honeymoon for a few weeks. I contacted her within 3 weeks of the procedure when it was obvious that there was zero color in my lips. I contacted her again when I got back in the country. I did a Yelp review as a last resort. I find her customer service appalling. I will be considering other options at this point, contacting state board, the BBB, heck maybe even small claims. It isn't about the money, it is the fact that I paid for a service and it didn't work at all. It is not my problem that she will have to pay some money out of her pocket since Living Social took half of the $199. I actually asked her to pay her the whole $199 initially and she refused, maybe that is her way of not having to give a refund if someone is unhappy with the procedure. She offered to do the service again, I declined, there is no way I am going through that again. Her only option to make this situation better is a refund but she refuses. Horrible customer service! Dear Ms. Ledgewood: I did respond via email as well as responding to your review on Yelp and told you what I am willing to do for you. It is unreasonable for you to request me to honor a refund especially since that refund is in excess to what we were paid for on the service by 100.00. (It took repeated times of me sending various messages before she responded) I'm very sorry you are so dissatisfied with the results you received from the procedure. I am also baffled as to why someone who claimed to have such a horrendous healing complication would wait nearly a month after the fact of all healing to take place to reach out to me about it. Your first contact to me was sent via a message on Facebook on September 25th when you had the procedure done on August 30, 2013 even though we had communicated several times via phone and text prior to your appointment. (I am also in the industry and the only thing she would have told me is to put some ointment on it, there is nothing she could have done for me!) When the swelling was so severe the first two days after your procedure that you felt it necessary to take off work, I would have expected you to contact me then. When you didn't hear back from me on Facebook, instead of contacting me in the manner which you did initially when inquiring about the procedure, you again messaged me on Facebook. Because I was not notified of your message, I was unaware that you even contacted me, it was not that I was ignoring you. When I received your email which was sent through my contact page on our website as it should have been initially, I promptly called you and when I got no answer, I texted you but never heard back from you until reading a nasty review posted by you to Yelp. It is not uncommon for someone to inquire about the healing process and then abandon the inquiry or even my response when they realize all is well. This is what I thought the case was with you when I didn't hear back from you. (Again I got married and LEFT THE COUNTRY!) It would seem likely that with your healing process as traumatic as you have claimed, with chunks peeling off your lips and requiring you to miss two days of work, that it would warrant a visit to a physician or at the very least a phone call or a text to me since that is the form of communication that proved successful in the past. Heck, to be honest with you, if healing complications were bad enough to require me to take off work, I would have presented myself at the establishment I had the procedure done at for observation by the technicians who worked there. (I am not going to pay more money to go to a doctor nor drive all the way back out to her business, it is very far from me. Again the only thing her or a doctor could have done would have told me to put ointment on it!) While we do hundreds of these procedures and have a 98% satisfaction rating with Living Social Clients, those who do take longer to heal always contact me directly while they are questioning the healing process(within the first 3 days) not weeks later after the fact. Based on the severity of your description, this just doesn't resonate as logical to me. (So now I am a liar.....) I hope anyone that sees this review thinks twice about doing a service with her. Be careful before you purchase. I used a Groupon for Stella Bella and felt that with her advertised experience I should have a positive experience with Kristin. While she was very personable, my experience was extremely costly both in time and money. I started with an eyebrow tatoo and trusted her to find the right color for my blond hair. Wrong! I ended up with charcoal and it was just awful. Six months later she said all she had to do was touch it up with a golden color and it would be fine. Nope! It was a little lighter, but still did not work. I ended up using blonde eyebrow color to make it presentable. Two years later I am spending $500 to have the tatoo removed and color changed by a real expert. Costly mistake for ME! Next, when I was in for a collagen treatment. That was fine and I did see a difference. She talked to me about doing lip color so on the spot I said I would be willing to try it. BAD experience. Not only did the color not take, I had cold sores all over my mouth because she failed to mention that I should take prescription medication if I had a history of cold sores. It was a month before I looked decent enough to go out and the lip color did not stay. In fact, I have some residual bleeding that looks bad and makes the outline of my lips look distorted. To make matters worse, because of the cold sores I ended up in Urgent Care because one spread to my under eyebrow area. I found I was allergic to the antibiotic they gave me and ended up with another bill from a dermatologist and another month of itching and downtime. It was a disaster. Kristin offered me no refund, just a free collagen treatment (I had already paid for three). I like her as a person, but will not go back because of her lack of professionalism and poor results. I should have investigated further and paid for someone who really knows what she is doing! read more

Yes, it can be difficult to get through on the phone, but email and text work, and what really matters are the great results! At Stella Bella the work is professional and you get lots of attention and care. I told Kristen that she reminds me of a doctor because she really focuses and is patient and articulate. She seems to have a heavy background in the field, as well as an artist's eye. I have not found another salon where I respected the work this much. I plan to go here for a long time. So far I have had CRT, permanent eyebrows and lips. She has made suggestions that are spot on. A+++ Update 7-12-16. I take it all back. She will not return email, text or phone. read more

I had my eyebrows done by Kristin. She is such a perfectionist in a very positive way. When you are having permanent or semi permanent makeup put on that is exactly what to strive for. She offers expert opinion but always listens to the client. I have had makeup done before but Kristin is by far the best I've used. Highly recommend Stella Bella. read more

This place is horrible. Kristin Prowidenti was too aggressive with the CRT tool (she said prior technician at another salon didn't apply enough pressure) and I ended up with permanent discoloration on my face. Before I left the salon, Kristin talked me into purchasing two additional treatments and she refused to refund that money to me after I told her about the discoloration. Beware of prepaying services on Groupon and trying to get an appointment. Kristin the owner doesn't take appointments by phone. Her online scheduling calendar only had Saturday appointments available for the next three months and requires a credit card even if you have prepaid for the service. She did not respond to an email about this or return another followup call. I asked Groupon for a refund. read more

Had permanent makeup done here for 2 of my 3 appointments had to wait 40 minutes or more I used a Groupon so since they weren't making money from me had to have additional touch ups and add ons read more

I bought a permanent makeup coupon from Living Social and was able to schedule an appointment without any difficulty. My appointment was scheduled with Jen, who began to disclose information to me about permanent makeup just before the procedure. I was informed that 70% of the permanent makeup would come off and that I could return for a touch up if I wanted to, but that was not included in the Living Social promotion. That would have been good information to have posted on Stella Bella's website before I made the purchase or certainly within the time frame allotted for a refund. Jen began the procedure, which in my case was permanent makeup on my lips. She stated that she would intermittently stop and give me a mirror so that I could see how things were progressing. To make a long story short, the permanent makeup was botched. Jen did not trace my natural lip line, so my lips ended up looking very odd on my face. If you've ever seen recent Joan Rivers or Dolly Parton pix, you will have an idea of what I am attempting to describe. I told Jen I was unhappy during and after the procedure. She assured me that my lips were swollen and that the swelling would go down, which it did by the 3rd day. Jen also gave me an ointment to put on my lips to help prevent my lips from drying out. As I was applying the ointment with a Q-Tip (as instructed by Jen) I noticed that much of the permanent makeup was coming off. I have to admit, I was relieved because I certainly did not want to spend the rest of my with the lips I was sporting post Stella Bella. It has been five days since the procedure. All the color, except the disfigured outline on my top lip is gone. I am hoping that it will eventually disappear as well. My overall impression was that there was a lack of professionalism in dealing with clients as well as Jen's lack of artistic training. I would have liked to have had much of the information about the procedure and the fact that it would require a touch up at an additional cost. Bottom line: unprofessional, poorly executed procedure, lack of disclosure of information in a timely manner. read more

What a wonderful experience! Lynn customized my makeup and gave me a full session on how to apply each product I purchased. She is very knowledgeable, savvy and took her time to answer all of my questions. She knew what ingredient was in each product I was using and the reason why I would dry out or break out my skin. She has a wonderful personality and I couldn't imagine a better way to be introduced to this wonderful product line! Thanks again Lynn! I love this line and why it was created. Who knew such a really great place existed in that "Interesting" Beauty Mall in Scottsdale Arizona.... I know I did'nt! I have had both the lip volumizing treatment and the Collagen Induction treatments done at Stella Bella. Jen Kim did my treatments. Both treatments are good to great on different levels. Though the space she and the owner Kristen operate out of is small.... the results, professionalism and knowledge are MIGHTY! I am looking forward to my next microneddling procedure. I have had Fractional CO2 laser in the past and the needling is beyond better than the laser. The laser does give results... however it also gave me larger facial pores! The micro-needleling helps smooths out the appearance of pore size. Plus little to no downtime, no pain, and the money saved astounding. All I can say is come here and learn what both Kristen and Jen have well researched themselves on. This is the real deal and that is what they offer ...honest, professional, caring results. I travel 50 miles to get their services and it is worth every moment I am on that blacktop to get to them. Thanks ever so much. read more
