I didn't have a fade or a soul patch but I managed to communicate with the villagers who worked there. We used signs and grunts given how little street cred I had at 60. We eagerly climbed to the top of the designated coulee in search of the cache to be greeted by black impending storms clouds. :( Retreat was the only option since there was no tree to take shelter under. Have you been to east central Alberta? If you have you know that there isn't an abundance of trees. We started our dissent into the reentrant of the coulee with the 100km/h winds right on our tail. After safely navigating our retreat we clamoured into the town of Drumheller seeking a refuge and came upon Cafe Ole. The service was warm and welcoming. Thankfully they didn't turn the riff-raff away when we sloshed in dripping wet, muddy and one of us had cacti stuck in them but sustained us with some stellar smooth americanos and a couple of steamed soy milks for the kid. Did I mention the decor? My husband even asked if his order could be delivered to the bathroom. Yeah it was that clean & inviting, leaving you in a state of zen on your departure. Cafe Ole is a treasure for anyone needing a retreat along their journey. They'll be seeing us back, likely for lunch next time. :)

The pumpkin scone was nice and fresh but doesn't have much pumpkin flavour. The croissant was very delicious and I lived that it had filling inside it as well. For drinks we got a Cortado and Mocha. I have never had a Cortado before but they mentioned it was like three quarters espresso and the rest milk. On first sip very rich and can def feel the caffeine but very smooth.

Yesterday I had a panini and today I ordered the California Chicken Wrap. The panini was a bit bland but the wrap was really good and both were right sized. The food prices are very reasonable here. The locals clearly appreciate this kind of a cafe because it was busy both times we were here. Even though it was busy there was no problem finding a table. Noise is well under control so it's a great place to carry on a conversation. For a summer there is patio seating out front with four tables. I can easily recommend Copper Creek and I will be back when we next pass through this way.

I'm towing a small trailer and still found street parking nearby. It might be harder to find parking on weekdays, but I don't really know. My coffee was delicious. I drink it black so I know a good coffee when I taste it. My breakfast panini was surprisingly good. It was pre-made, but was still better than most. Maybe it was the sausage meat inside but it was really good. The staff were fast and friendly. The cafe was pleasantly quiet which I sure enjoyed. Overall I couldn't have expected anything better.
