I walked in on Friday, March 27th and was greeted by 2 of their employees that were nice, kind and helpful. They wanted to know what was it that I needed? I just wanted to see what my options were. With that being said, I started to play on few of their pianos, but didn't really get to the point of purchase. They have a variety of pianos: to rent, sell, they also come to your house or wherever that you have the instrument and will tune it for you for a reasonable cost. Also have movers to help you move your piano. This visit was mainly to check out and see what they had. Since I live in an apartment, our landlord doesn't allow us to have any musical instruments in the building. What a BUMMER!! They do financing and will work out a plan with you and negotiate a price for you. If and when I ever move into a house, I will definitely keep this place in mind. They've been established since 1928. By appointment only and the sale was going on March 27-29. Hours of operation is 10AM to 6PM. Don't know much about their parking situation, because I parked outside on the street.

I was waiting to see how Gus deals with it and whether he would be as committed to support me as he was to close the deal and sell the piano. There is another issue here that made things more complicate - I leave in San Jose, while Hollywood Piano is in LA. Well... I have only good things to say about Hollywood piano: (1) No pressure sell, (2) Fair price, (3) 5-stars service, (4) Large selection of brands When the piano was delivered, the Hollywood Piano technician flew-into San Jose to make sure all is good and I'm a happy customer. This is a VIP service you get only when you buy a Steinway piano, I received it with a Ritmuller piano from Hollywood Piano. Later after few issues came up. Gus himself drove from LA to San Jose to help. Then when issues continued with the PianoDisc system, Gus paid a PianoDisc factory person to come twice and clear all issues (that were PianoDisc related, nothing to do with Hollywood Piano). Pianos and PianoDisc systems are very complex, issues may happen. It is a question of how the dealer handles it. Does the dealer stand behind the customer and doesn't give up before everything is fixed. This is exactly what Gus was doing. He didn't give up. A token of thanks also goes to Andriy who responded promply to all my questions during the pre-sell and exploration phase. Bottom line, I strongly recommend on Hollywood Piano, no wonder they have the largest showroom, the most demanding customers (the Hollywood studios) and they are so many years in the business. He gave me his information and at first he suggested I go with the other store as they gave me a really good deal. After 3+ visits, the technician could not address my problems and basically said that's the way it is, unless I spend more money for a better piano. While my Steinway was being repaired, I told George I intended to have piano concerts in my home on special occasions using both pianos on. But George said most professional musicians would not want to play my Steinway because the keyboard and pedals were not in mint condition. Over time, when musician friends came to my home, they only wanted to play the Yamaha Grand. Then I visited a church with a magnificent organ, but paired with a terrible piano! I decided to donate my Steinway to the church, rather than restore it However, the church wanted me to either restore the Steinway Grand, or donate my Yamaha since the Yamaha was in mint condition! I decided to donate the Yamaha Grand, thinking that if I was going to restore the Steinway Grand, I wanted to keep it for myself! The story ends happily! I called George Ashikyan! He did a magnificent job of restoring my Steinway Grand Model L! Now all the musicians among my friends and family want to play it!
