I cannot say enough great things about Leonard at Hollywood Piano! This was my second time purchasing a piano from him, and once again, the experience was absolutely outstanding. Most recently, I purchased a Yamaha G2 grand piano, and Leonard offered it at an excellent price--truly unbeatable for the quality and condition of the instrument. His knowledge is exceptional; he took the time to walk me through the details, answered every question thoroughly, and made sure I felt completely confident in my purchase. Beyond his expertise, Leonard is genuinely personable and a pleasure to work with. There was never any pressure--just honest guidance and a sincere desire to match me with the right piano. The entire process was smooth, professional, and enjoyable from start to finish. read more

My mother bought her first non-keyboard piano in the US from this store during the pandemic and this review is overdue. I believe they have also closed this location and shifted to a new location on Arroyo - but wanted to get my review in. As other customers have similarly noted, Leonard is very kind and patient. He does a wonderful job matching pianos to customer needs. He worked within my mom's budget, both recommending different pianos and giving her ample time to play each one. Based on her feedback, he would recommend a new piano, and the process would repeat. Ultimately, Leonard showed my mother a used upright Petrof which she bought and has been playing almost every day since. The music has been a great comfort to my father and me. They also handled the delivery with professionalism and care, esp. given the pandemic. I don't play seriously, but I'm impressed how well the touch and sound has held up on the Petrof since it was purchased - I take that as a sign of how seriously they take their inventory for their used pianos. It needs a good tuning after big weather shifts, but otherwise it sounds great. I'll post a review for their Arroyo location with the photo of the piano at a later date. read more

Leonard, the Piano Sales Consultant is an excellent example of what a professional salesperson should be. Not pushy, and just let me take the time to look around and wait to answer any questions. I came in just asking about a good digital Piano. But after I tried some of the digital Piano, I realized it's not too much of a difference from my own digital Piano even though if I wanted to get a better one. So I asked to let me check out the real Pianos!! Leonard was very patient to show me and let me just try different Pianos. Then when I asked some questions he started to educate me about how to choose a Piano based on the interior make up of it instead of just going by the big brands. I felt like I took a free class about how to buy a Piano from him more than listening to a salesperson pushing me to buy something in a rush. This was a very good sign that he actually cares for the customer instead of just trying to do the business asap. I am passionate for playing the Piano, so I really want to invest in a real Piano. But I did go to some other shops and they didn't make me feel confident enough that I can make the right decision about which Piano is the best for me. With Leonard, I felt like he was like a friend trying to share his knowledge with me so I can choose the best Piano for my lifetime purchase! And it's nerve wracking to make such a big purchase!!!! I am so thankful to have found this Piano store, I can tell the Sales consultant the Owner hires reflects his/her mission in helping every buyer to feel happy with such a big purchase. I am so so SO SooooOoo in love with my Piano purchase!! Their delivery service was amazing too! It was delivered to me the very next day and it was a super smooth and easy process! They also include one time free tuning. Listening to the sound of a real Piano is just so emotionally satisfying and therapeutic. I still cannot believe I actually have a real and all brand new Piano!!! I got a white colored Ritmuller brand. I love it in every way!! read more

A little off the wall post of appreciation and admiration for Hollywood Piano. We drove up from San Diego so my son could audition for Berklee College of Music; we needed a stop off near the audition site to warm up his fingers. We hopped in to Hollywood Piano and Leigh Moore kindly went out of her way, even when two customers were there, to set my son up with a gorgeous -- absolutely stunning -- piano for him. She even spent some time with me teaching me about some of the different makes there. They have almost a museum like assortment of pianos -- from in budget to extraordinary. It's a wonderful place, worth going to if you are looking for a family owned, expertly run piano shop. Thank you, Leigh! read more

We had a great experience at Hollywood Piano. Leonard is extremely knowledgable in pianos and really took his time to listen to our situation and went above and beyond in helping us. He referred us to a piano tuner who really understands piano to look at our over 30 year old baby grand Weber piano. When we traded in our piano and also had to move an old piano from one house to another, he sent quality professional piano movers that were affordable and efficient. Thank you Leonard and Hollywood Piano! I highly recommend going to see Leonard if you are looking to trade-in, rent, or buy a piano! Also, Leonard plays the piano beautifully and my daughter was in awe! read more

A spectacular job! Wanted to say Leonard goes above and beyond in his way to help his customers. He truly is a piano aficionado when it comes to giving customers the best advice and unparalleled customer service. When we first arrived he wasn't quick to "sell us" but rather consult on what we need as far as specific requirements and the type of music that is played. The amount of comprehensive care he puts into assessing our needs is just one level above any sales rep I have worked with. With Leonard helping you, you always know that he puts you first and that you'll always be able to reach him under any troubles you might have! A job well done and I will be referring him to ANYONE looking to buy a piano. I'm already planning in the next few years of upgrading to a grand piano through him! Thank you for making my experience here wonderful Leonard! read more

Leonard helped me find a beautiful piano and assisted me every step along the way attentively and often a shoulder to lean on when fears assailed me about making my dream come true of owning a beautiful piano despite being an apartment dweller. I had given my acoustic piano to my brother seven years before because of difficulties living in an apartment and had an electric practice piano. I hated it but had tried to resign myself to the idea that an acoustic piano wasnt possible in my situation. About a year ago I had the good luck of wandering into Hollywood Piano on Foothill in Pasadena and meeting Leonard. He showed me wonderful choices and lit the hope in my heart that I could own an acoustic piano afterall. I fell in love with a Schulze Pollmann piano that had a device for apartment dwellers to practice softly. it was made in Italy and absolutely beautiful. At that time I couldn't afford it. in the meantime, I decided to leave California (where I grew up) and moved to South Dakota. Piano stores up here are virtually nonexistent. In June I was back in California for a sad event. a funeral. while there I stopped in the piano store and to my delight, Leonard was there! He helped me find the same kind of piano I'd seen the year before and, having received a small inheritance I was able to buy it. without Leonard's help and expertise I don't think that piano would ever have made the long trip from Pasadena to South Dakota. He shepherded it the whole way, from choosing an excellent piano moving company willing to go the distance, to answering many anxious texts from me. Leonard is really the best! My dream has come true. My piano is now in my living room which seems a miracle and I highly recommend Leonard- he is trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring. read more

Thank you so much to Leonard of Hollywood Piano in Pasadena. During these challenging times, Leonard went above and beyond to facilitate my upgrade for my Roland. They have beautiful pianos here, but what I needed was a digital piano upgrade and due to time sensitivity, I couldn't wait. My first experience about 1.5 years ago was great too, so I contacted them again. Leonard went above and beyond to take pictures and to send them to me. I couldn't go in to the showroom, but I knew the quality of Rolands, so I didn't even have to try it. The point here is that Leonard answered all of my questions and made the transaction over the phone and text very smooth. It was a delight to have someone who was just as excited to help me. He also followed up to make sure that I was happy with my purchase. The delivery was smooth and fast. Excellent customer service, positive, and so helpful. No pressure to buy, but just ready to help. I highly recommend this location and please ask to see Leonard. Thanks again! P.S. I forgot to mention that I LOVE THE NEW PIANO! Roland GP607 My first love is an acoustic piano for so many reasons, so please consider that first. Since I have access to an acoustic one, this digital piano was a great addition for variety of sounds, headphone capabilities, midi, volume control, bluetooth player and page turn. Either way, Leonard will help you in all the categories and there are many to choose from at their store! read more

This review is about a spectacular job one of the technicians at Hollywood piano , CHRISTOPHER FREEL did to fix our piano . We just bought a pre-owned piano from Hollywood Piano warehouse in North Hollywood. After the piano was delivered , I noticed a big scratch/dent in the front right side of the piano . I called Hollywood piano and they set up an appointment for a technician to come and take a look at the piano .Chris contacted me, very pleasant on the phone . He came in and not only cosmetically fixed ( sanded down , polishes snd painted) our piano like new, he also tuned our piano ! We are very pleased with our new piano and we honestly think that's all because how this guy spent time and fixed this piano to perfection !!!! Thank you Christopher !!! read more

Christopher Freel is a true professional! Came supper equipped to tune our piano and didn't leave before reaching the perfection. Totally knowledgeable about frequencies, he turned our second hand piano -that was moved twice, to an instrument that feels like a brand new one. Christopher was also kind and patient with our two year old who didn't stop talking to him while he was working. Thank you so much for the great job you did. read more

Amazing customer service, great selection of pianos at down-to-earth prices. I found my dream piano here.

I had been to 3 other piano stores searching for the just-the-right new upright piano. In spite of the long drive, I decided to visit Hollywood Piano in Pasadena because of their large inventory. This turned out to be a good decision, because I was helped by Leonard Ezraeellian, who really knows pianos, inside and out. Basically he gave me a Piano-Buying 101 class, which led me to finding just the piano I wanted, a piano with great tone, beautiful and built to last. If you are considering a new piano - I would recommend that you start with Leonard and learn about pianos before making a major purchase. He's a delightful person, very low key, with no pressure to buy. I had a great experience. read more

The store has wide selection of pianos, from digital to acoustic grand and uprights. Remington Tang is very friendly and knowledgeable on pianos. We spend almost 3 hours at the store and Mr. Tang was very patience with us and we asked him to demo and compare. Very easy to work with, and not trying to upsell us at all. We got a piano we like within our budget and would recommend to anyone who wants to get a piano. We bought it on Saturday and it was delivered Monday within the scheduled time. read more

I recently purchased a Roland digital piano from Hollywood Piano and I'm very happy with the overall experience. Remington was accommodating and helpful in providing information about digital pianos and their specific models. The prices are reasonable and the whole purchase/delivery process was made easy. I had a great experience at Hollywood Piano-- I emailed to make an appointment to buy a piano and Leonard got back to me on the same day. I went in that day and he helped me find what I considered to be the piano I was hoping for. He was kind and very patient with me while I wanted to try all the pianos in my price range. He taught me something I did not know about European pianos and I ended up with a beautiful Rittmüller. I am so grateful Leonard helped me otherwise I wouldn't have known which was best. I did a review months ago about this business and the experience my husband and I had only to find out my review was removed. The other day the Yelp staff emailed me informing me that my original review was removed since I mistakenly wrote my review for the wrong Hollywood piano locale. This has not happened to me before using Yelp. Apparently, Hollywood piano made Yelp aware of this to get my review taken down. After re-writing a second review that Yelp welcomed, I was told that a Glen t. commented on my latest review. I opened up a Yelp account a long time ago primarily to let ladies know of the terrible experience I had at Carlton Hair in West Los Angeles. I did not realize my reviews could be removed for various reasons. Now I'm accused of exagerating, being inconsistent, and making up our experience at Hollywood piano company in Pasadena. This has been upsetting to my family and I. Our memories are sharp and it was a stressful experience we won't forget. Furthermore, the slight differences between my reviews would be that I felt it necessary this time to elaborate more on their sell, sell, sell philosophy. Since some people thought my phrasing was funny, I wanted to make sure that readers would take me seriously this time around. And in both reviews I wrote the same experience coming from our feelings. We felt uncomfortable and pressured. read more

My wife (who is an accomplished pianist) has been going to HPC for years and has NEVER had any bad or negative experiences. She has always been impressed by their professionalism and good customer service. In fact, she has bought 2 pianos from them already! The staff is very knowledgable, detail oriented and are able to help you find the right piano. In addition to that, their prices are fair and affordable compared to most other music stores in LA. They have been around for many years because of their fine reputation, integrity and their support of local music community. I encourage you to go check them out and see for yourself what makes them so great! read more

About 14 years ago I bought a beautiful B. Shoninger upright piano from Hollywood Pianos in Burbank. After many years of enjoyment I now had to sell and it was sent to the Pasadena store. I thought it was wonderful that they paid for pick-up, transportation, tuning and detailing. Now it has sold to some happy new owners and I am so happy with how this store has handled and cared for my piano. My thanks also to Candi and Ric in Burbank for the contract agreement and to Dennis in Pasadena! I would very much recommend these stores for any piano purchase. read more

Wow, what a Negative experience! My Husband and i just bought a home with a large Living room and were excited to upgrade to the Piano of our Dreams! . A friend offered to swap a Older Concert Bechstein (needed some work) for one of my Husbands Sports cars. Before committing we thought we should look at few other Pianos. Our Budget was limited to $45K, which sounds like alot but really isnt when considering a quality instrument. I stopped on my way home from The Gym on a to look at what HPC had in Stock. It only took a few moments playing to know ..my Heart belonged to Steinway. But The Salesman/Owner? was down right rude.! His opening line." Do you want to buy a Piano TODAY?" Wow havent heard a line like that since shopping for used cars as a Teen! I feel Steinway does make the Best sounding Piano. I dont Need to hear a sales sales person make Insulting statements about other brands to convince me. Totally Low Class! No wonder that place was empty! Thank Goodness there is another Steinway dealer in the area, with sales people that actually have manners.! They helped us find a beautiful "B" within our budget! Our "baby" will be delivered within the week (: (: If You unsure about what kind of Piano you like There is another dealer in the Valley that has a large Inventory of Makes and Models! Unless you like to be insulted and pressured..AVOID Hollywood Pianos. There are so many better options when making an Important financial and musical investment. read more

The guy running this is honest and helpful. He helped me pick a model and I put down a refundable deposit to get it voiced so I can hear it again before committing. After the piano my daughter inherited from my wife's grandma gave out, we faced up to the fact that we were going to have to buy a piano. After searching around online, http://www.hollywoodpiano.com/ proved to be far and away the best source for detailed information about how to shop for one. When we were in Pasadena one day, on a whim, we decided to drop in (we had not looked at any other stores, yet). When we walked in we were greeted by the proprietor, Remington, who was very professional. He asked us what we were looking for, and he listened carefully, and throughout our experience he only showed us pianos that were within the range of our request (upright, used or new, good quality on a budget), even though the store obviously has much more. The first thing he took us to was a used Sohmer & Co (top tier) that had just come in two days prior and had not even been cleaned up, going for $3600. My daughter played it for awhile and fell in love! He then showed us a few new uprights in the $8000 range, and explained the details of the construction and the pros and cons of each. She played the new ones and even my untrained ear could tell that the sound quality was well below the Sohmer. I bought the Sohmer that day and we've had it for about 4 months and still marvel at the deal. I share this story with friends and would recommend checking out Hollywood Piano when piano shopping. read more

I recently purchased a Roland LX-series from Hollywood Piano in their Pasadena location. I settled on the digital Roland after a prolonged debate between the pros and cons of an upright acoustic at this comparable price range. Remington Tang/GM is both a teacher and an accomplished player. After spending a long while patiently explaining and showing me the advantages of the latest LX-series, he also helped me and my family compare the feel and sound of Roland's latest digital pianos against similarly priced upright acoustics and even concert grand pianos at a much higher price range. There was no sales pressure nor pushing of any specific product or brand. He was just there to educate and hopefully help me and my family find a suitable piano for our needs. His pricing was competitive and extremely fair given that it was a NAMM piano with 4 days of minor use. When it was delivered, it looked new and included accessories were all attached. In fact, Remington offered to trade up the included piano bench for free when I initially expressed my concern that it was not adjustable. Who can argue with that kind of service to ensure a happy client post purchase?! I also want to give credit to Denis McCarthy who was also very helpful in the beginning of my shopping process. If you are shopping for a piano, whether digital or a concert grand, you should definitely stop by Hollywood Piano in Pasadena before making your final decision. read more

I also had bad experience with HPC and I wouldn't recommend it. If you want to go there to see pianos....BE PREPARED and bring the money with you!! I could afford the most expensive piano in the showroom, but I wasn't sure what to buy at that time. The sales person asked me to go for a cheap one and he asked me to pay right away. He wouldn't let me go home to think about it. I felt he was being too pushy and I didn't like his attitude. When I decided to walk away, he got extremely mad at me for not buying. I ran back to my car because I was afraid he might throw rocks at me....LOL.... That was exactly how mad he was when there was no deal. :) read more

Neither my wife nor I knew what it would take/cost to put a baby grand in our living room. We wanted a piano for two reasons, for our son to conveniently play piano and as a beautiful piece of furniture. We had a tight budget, but Denis and Remington were great at showing us around, not pressuring us to get the most expensive piano, and really hearing our desire within our price range. They were also great at letting our 19 month old play all the pianos (even the expensive Steinways). We were able to find the perfect piano for us. The delivery service they have is fantastic too (they were careful with the piano and careful around our rugs, floor, and other furniture... And they were super polite).
