RELIEF! This experience was tragic for us. But their experience & confidence in what they do made…read morelife so much easier for us to endure through the process beginning to end. My husband had surgery Dec 8, 2016. Before going in he had been having very high blood pressure, had several episodes of kidney stones, was in chronic pain especially his heels, knees, elbows & wrists, he battled chronic fatigue, sleep apnea, heart burn & extreme moodiness. Up to being on the stretcher going into surgery I requested pillows to help prop up his knees & lay across his lap to rest his hands on to try to make him more comfortable which he still was NOT. After going back to prep for surgery, have surgery & wake up in recovery approx an hour my husband was in better mood! He had his IV out & was talking. I asked him if he needed his pillows back & he said he was fine & wasn't hurting at all. When discharged a couple hrs later he was ready to eat! We went back to the hotel by shuttle & ate in their restaurant. He ate mild hot wings, blacked fish & seasoned veggies with lemonade to drink. Fasting for surgery and being about 4 pm (this is food & drink he generally can't tolerate on a normal day!!!) I was surprised he did well. When we got back to the room we played a full game of rummy with him wide awake (out of character with his usual preference to nap without being in surgery). After the game of cards he wanted Pizza so I ordered a pepperoni Pizza with great warning! But he tolerated it!!! That night he tried to get us up & on the road to head back to the Panhandle of Florida which took us 6 hrs to get there due to road construction & heavy steady traffic. When we got home he proceeded to go out to work in his garage! He has surgery less than 24 hrs ago. He has so much energy compared to before. He (we) now sleep all through the night without to 10-20 episodes of apnea that waked us up before each night. His blood pressure is now within normal limits & NO MORE bone & joint pain. He had a small growing lesion above his left eye lid for a solid year BUT it disappeared. I am hopeful he won't have anymore kidney stones. My happy, friendly husband is back! He had been missing for 12-14 yrs! This group of persons that work there were all extremely kind & informative. They answered questions I did not think of yet. The doctors are extremely confident about their knowledge & surgery of the Parathyrold. While we were there waiting for him to come from surgery we met people from New York and out West. One had previous surgery at a Mayo clinic but they were not complete in their surgery & she needed another so they referred her there. I am so THANKFUL for their practice & expertise! Worth the surgery!!!!!

Definitely 0 star if I could make 0…read more Men Beware Found Dr Richman of Advanced Urology in 2021 with difficulty urinating and Prostate issues. Advanced Urology and Dr Richman were more concerned about selling me a snake oil procedure than actually helping, the Rezum water treatment therapy. I was sold on the fact it would help. Stating it was the next best thing. It is not. As I came to the office procedure he was irritated, in a hurry for the staff to go home because the Urology Surgery center only allows a small window of time to do a procedure before charging more money causing the doctor to rush the procedure. I was not informed I needed a ride and he would not preform the procedure until my ride arrived. Allowing for the numbness to wear off leaving me screaming in excruciating pain during the entire procedure Rezum water vapor therapy. . Now I have worse symptoms of bph and have side effects because of the Rezum treatment and he would not follow up with me after this experience. Because after I had asked how much out the door it cost. I paid what I was told my part would be. Months later when I had an appointment, they would not see me because they were charging me more causing me to lose additional follow up care. Now after losing my insurance, I am left suffering the after effects with no one who will take the responsibility of a faulty procedure. . It has left me now with a damaged prostate, damaged my testicle operation, painful and difficulty urinating, worse symptoms than when I had previously come in for. As well as Suffering from long term side effects from prescription medication. . I would never, ever refer anyone to Dr Richman or Advanced Urology unless they would like to be treated as a transaction, not a patient. Our Medical System is Flawed and Patients do not matter at Advanced Urology. Profiting off of human guinea pigs is the goal leaving you robbed, maimed, disserviced and damaged for life with no remorse or reimbursement, unless you pay more money for the service rendered leaving me damaged .. on to the next victim, in your revolving transactional service. BUYER BEWARE I am looking into acquiring a lawyer to bring about a class action law suit. Anyone interested may contact me at jamoore1962@aol.com

I was a patient of Dr. Ankur Shah at Florida Urology for a urological concern and a general…read moreevaluation. He expressed concern about a possible neurological or spinal condition and referred me to a neurologist and for an MRI. I appreciated his attention to those possibilities. My concern involves the billing for a subsequent hospital encounter. During an extended hospitalization involving extensive neurological testing, Dr. Shah briefly stopped by my room. My wife was present, and she remembers the interaction the same way I do. To the best of our recollection, it lasted approximately one to two minutes and consisted of a greeting, brief comments about my condition, and an indication that we would follow up at his office. When I later called about an unexpected copay bill, the office explained that it was for this hospital encounter, separate from my office visit. I asked what was being billed to my insurance and was told $512. That is the amount billed to insurance, not my personal copay. What made this especially troubling was that, of all the doctors involved in my care during that hospitalization, Dr. Shah was the only one who billed me separately for his time. Yet, in my experience, he provided the least amount of care by far, only a brief one- or two-minute interaction, compared with the hours of care and attention provided by other doctors involved in my treatment. I understand that a physician's work can extend beyond the time spent at the bedside, but the difference between the amount of care I received and the charge I was billed left me questioning the transparency and proportionality of the billing. Patients facing serious illness are already carrying significant physical, emotional, and financial burdens. They deserve clear explanations of their care and its cost. Even an additional copay can matter greatly to a struggling family. I share this respectfully, with the hope that Florida Urology will review this charge, explain the services it represents, and address any discrepancy. I believe compassion and accountability belong together in medicine. My experience has left me feeling that the billing did not reflect the care I understood myself to have received. At the same time, I do not believe this concern is unique to Florida Urology or to one physician. Similar billing practices and other forms of misconduct can occur throughout the medical field and in many different healthcare settings. When patients are charged for services they do not understand, or when billing is not transparent and proportional to the care provided, it undermines trust in the entire healthcare system. These concerns deserve broader attention from medical institutions, insurers, regulators, and professional organizations. Patients should not have to navigate confusing charges or question whether they are being treated fairly while they are already dealing with illness. Greater transparency, accountability, and meaningful oversight are needed across the medical field.
