My husband and I made a last-minute decision to see a magician while we were in Vegas this past…read moreweekend, and Mat Franco's show quickly came up in my internet search. High reviews and a Groupon deal. It was a no-brainer. The seating at the venue felt similar to a comedy show. The seats in the back were behind high tables, and the seats in the front were arranged in several rows without anything in between. Just beware: if you purchase tickets on Groupon, you only select the section and can be placed all the way to the side, like we were. Nonetheless, Mat's show was so good that it was still enjoyable from a not-ideal angle. I don't want to spoil the magic, but I must say his show was so well-rounded. It had a variety of different tricks, and he puts a fresh spin on each one, so even if you think that's where the trick should end, Mat is always a couple of steps ahead. He also sprinkles comedy throughout, and a lot of it seems to be on the fly since it involves audience members. Mat even pulls on the heartstrings at times. I didn't even realize he had won America's Got Talent until some videos played from when he competed. I'm sure I watched him back then, but I'm glad I got to see him in person too! His show will not disappoint, and given that it was an hour and a half, I think the price we paid for the second row was well worth it. Also, after the show, I saw a guy offer money to get an autograph from Mat. So if that's what you're after, I think it's possible. No guarantees, of course.

Mat is great and the show was fun. Unfortunately the theatre…read moretemperature was around 50 degrees and they wouldn't move us. Next time be sure to tell guests to bring down winter coats.

A show well worth your Caesars tier reward, or even actual hard-earned cash…read more Paranormal is a show starring mentalist Frederic da Silva. It is located in the Horseshoe Casino at the Laugh Factory. This is on the 2nd floor near the poker room, which is on the side of the main casino closer to the Strip. However, the box office is a shared box office for all shows and is back along the main floor of the casino. Actually, it is on the slightly elevated level near hotel registration. If you need to redeem some sort of tier reward for free show tickets, you'll wanna go there first. You'll also want to give yourself plenty of time in case of issues that may arise so that you don't get in a little late like I did. Since we were a bit tardy, we kinda had to dig our way through curtains that had been closed already, then get help from an usher to find our seats. We ended up at one of the tables in the front-most part of general admission, and they weren't too bad aside from tall dudes semi-blocking in front of us. The premium section feels like a decent upgrade for out-of-pocket customers. I don't think we missed that much. Frederic was in the middle of some stuff with some volunteers from the audience on stage, which we saw most or all of the endings of. On that note, he kept having different people come up (mostly selected by frisbees or balls) throughout the 70-ish minute show to demonstrate that there's no way he has that many audience plants. He also states that he doesn't pre-arrange anything anyway. The show is comprised of quite a few mind-reading / prediction tricks, and a little sleight of hand in a so-called "intermission" (not a real break). Many of these effects are familiar to fans of magic/mentalism, but they still feel fresh since it's just plain cool to see them in person. Frederic himself also is charming, funny, off-the-cuff, and just an all-around good entertainer. His pacing is also great, with no real lulls. On top of that, the musical motifs are well-timed and not too obtrusive, and the sound volume and clarity are great. We didn't stay for the free meet-and-greet, but he was available for it tonight. Paranormal is simply a great show for fans of mentalism. It's lasted 13 years, reportedly, and that's gotta be because it's just a polished show that's appealing to all ages and audiences. Check it out if you have the chance!

Even sitting there knowing you should be able to catch something, you simply can't. Every trick left the audience looking at each other wondering how this was possible. What I appreciated most was that the show wasn't just about nonstop card tricks. There was a great mix of magic, humor, and audience participation, and storytelling that kept the pacing fresh from beginning to end. Whether you're a fan of magic of just looking for a unique Vegas show, I'd recommend Limitless without hesitation. I've seen several shows in Vegas over the years, and this one I'd happily see again because I'm convinced I'd have no idea how he does any of it.

The sleight of hand has a camera on the table or him so you can see it on the screen more easily, that means most seats are fine, no issues with visuals. They also have interactive parts with the audience, calculator math, card tricks, and bringing folks up onto the stage for interacting during the acts. The voiceover might bore some who are too young, though, it's not as flashy as some other magic shows. Wife combines cardistry with hoop acrobatics. Very cool story for those who follow, a pop in from the American Idol singer, and there's a meet & greet after for fans that pay for the VIP side. Located in the Venetian/Palazzo Theater.

Unfortunately I am often in Vegas for work, and am working at 3pm when his show starts. This time we had the afternoon free and I snagged a ticket. Mac King is superb. The first trick I had seen for the first time at the Magic Castle, but was delighted with the call back to that trick throughout the show. The comedic timing was fantastic. I love callback, and loved the callback with the cards, the fig newton, and colonel Saunders. My favorite parts included the fishing trick, the camping trick (traumatized a kid), and Colonel Saunders. I always looked forward to how he picks volunteers for his acts. The seating is strange, probably because the venue is also used for Thunder Down Under at night. But it enabled Mac King to run around and be his delightful self. The entire show was very Magic Castle coded. If you're unable to make it to the Magic Castle, this is a good option. If you enjoy going to the Magic Castle, you will love Mac King. Some how, our show started with Penn sitting right next to my husband. I am a firm believer in enjoying the moment and not taking pictures and recording during experiences due to most experiences being available online, but, Penn showing up next to my husband was amazing and I wish we would have memorialized it a lil more!!!! This is definitely a general audience show without it being too toned down that it turns into a strictly children's show. I will say that at it's current location at the Strat, I'd suggest buying seats that are further away from the stage if you don't want the tricks spoiled for you. My husband and I were seated next to the stage (stage left) and unfortunately could see how many of the tricks were done because of how close our seats were to the performance. (Ex: one of the fabric backdrops has a secret opening that up close, is visibly more dirty than the rest of the backdrop.) On the flip side, if you want to see how the tricks are done, get the VIP seats next to the stage. I won't spoil it by explaining which tricks get spoiled, but you'll see at least 4-5. My husband and I still had a good time but I think I'd enjoy it more if the tricks were still a mystery.
