Come for the cider, stay for the selfie with life-sized Bob Ross.

Wow, what a cute little place! We were wandering the mean streets of downtown Chelan last weekend and in the mood for some good cider, and Steelhead did not disappoint. With fall weather in the air, we sat on the patio (yes, they're dog friendly) and enjoyed their crisp, cool apple ciders while people-watching over the park and lake below. Their apple pie inspired cider was my fave, with hints of cinnamon and other spices it literally tasted like autumn in a glass. They also had a pretty impressive beer tap list, and lots of seating both indoors and out. Bonus points for their awesome Halloween decorations. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Chelan!

Neat local place with a great balcony that overlooks the river. The cider are very tasty. The owner/server are very friendly and set us up with a warm fire outside. They also have games that you could use. Limited menu for now as it is the slow season but we definitely are looking forward to be back.

$15 for flight of 6 ciders of your choice

$15 for a flight of 6 ciders is a pretty good deal! You can choose which ciders you want to include. We did all 3 house ciders available that day, and chose 3 from the guest ciders: - Peargatory - Chimera Cherry Apple - Backroads Boysenberry - Tieton Bourbon Peach - Independent Cider Lavender Perry - Union Hill Pink Heart The only one I really did not like was the lavender. I think the bourbon peach was my favorite of the others, but I kind of forgot which was which. We chilled on the couch upstairs with our flight, which we split between the 2 of us. They had a N64 up there! Though we didn't check out any games. They also had a small selection of board games available, and some TVs which was playing sports I think.

Friendly owner and cider maker. Serve other brands on tap. I like that I could create my own flight, selecting number of tastes and types.

Arrived when it was not busy. The bartender happened to be the brewer. Very personably and got loads of information about the tasty ciders they show cased. Of the 4 choices 2 are semi-sweet and two were dry. One of the dry versions was infused with ginger. Very interesting, I found a dry that I actually liked. There was a cherry semi sweet apple and a pear semi sweet with a nice vanilla accent. Growler fills and bottles for all the versions because my sampled. It is in the back of the building, just past the books store and bathrooms to the left.

Games on and the girls are watching!

Nice selection of ciders and beer. Great atmosphere and the bartenders are all generous. The pear cider is my favorite!

Where do we begin…read more. When you come in, the place looks nice, pretty and welcoming. You order and they walk you to the table upstairs. If you have more than 4 people you get the same table and chairs you'd get at your local church. Whatever. Now let's talk about the food. Mediocre at best, and I'm being generous. Luke warm pretzels, a very disappointing pizza that looks like a $5 frozen pizza from the store and retirement home apple cider. Despite all the negatives, they managed to make it even worse by taking forever to bring up the food. Not all at the same time either, but one item at a time and 10 mins in between each pretzel and pizzas after already waiting for half an hour for anything to arrive. Managed to screw up an order, too and when asked for another half of pizza to be boxed in so we can take it with us, they brought it to the table, not boxed and gave an attitude when we asked them to box it again for the second time. Anyways, drinks were nice, but damn, what a let down. Would not recommend.

My friend really wanted to visit this spot in Leavenworth, specifically for their wine flights, and…read moreI see why. The flight was a little over $20, and we got five pours that were selected by the staff at the front desk. They chose great varieties -- a good mix of dry and sweet wines from different European countries, which made the tasting feel well-rounded. I liked that the staff brought the orders directly to the table instead of calling out numbers, especially since the place was pretty loud with all the commotion of people being seated. The layout was also nice: There is an upstairs and a downstairs, with upstairs set up for larger groups, and downstairs geared toward dates, or smaller parties of four or fewer. There is a clean bathroom, but it is located upstairs. Do not go downstairs to look for it because you will end up wandering toward the kitchen area lol We also got the schnitzel, which was uniquely hung -- something that I have not seen. It came with two different cheeses, and I really wish that had been labeled on the plate. Not a big issue, but I like to know exactly what I am eating. Meanwhile, the wine flights had a little written card on the side to specific which pour was what flavor. Maybe that it is me being picky, but it would have made the experience clearer and more organized. This spot felt like a dive bar, but much cleaner. It was not bad

My tasting included pours of their pinot gris, rose, cabernet sauvignon, a Stemilt Creek cab franc and a bold "GST" red blend. They were all wonderful, but the pinot gris was the best I've ever had. No really - I'm already home in Bham and kicking myself for not getting more. The service was also top notch. Owner Cindy was so friendly, answering my questions and making me feel at home. I'll definitely be adding Archibald James to my winery rotation next time I'm in Leavenworth.

The cider is fantastic and the owner working there was wonderful and explained all of the ciders to us. Also--they had just got in a frozen slushie machine and I got a cider slushie and it was AMAZING. It was a perfect beverage for a hot day. I wish I would have taken a picture of it, so you will just have to take my word that it was incredible. They switch up the types of ciders for the slushie machine, I think mine had a peach flavor and something else. We had some tastings of their regular cider too and it was all delicious. I wish I had more room in my suitcase to have bought more bottles. They had one that she likened to a champagne for the way it was made--it was drier and very good. Not like other ciders I've tasted. Wish I would have got that bottle too! Oh well now I just have to come back to Leavenworth :)

I was visiting the area and attended over the lunch hour this past weekend. Hands down one of the…read moreworst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The servers were incredibly kind and friendly, but the restaurant owner was a different story. We had a yummy basket of fries and a nice chat with our server. After receiving our pizza, both myself and my friend thought that the pizza tasted and smelled of cigarettes. The sauce was very acidic and chunky, and overall unpleasant to eat. We each tried one slice, I couldn't finish mine- before deciding that we really couldn't enjoy it. We let our server know as much and offered to pay for a half pizza/kids pizza (still paying as expected for the rest of our food/drinks), and he said that he would have to ask his supervisor about our request. When "JP" came out, it was clear he had been drinking. He became argumentative quickly- claiming that we just didn't understand how oven fired pizza was supposed to taste, that we were clearly trying to dine and dash, and eventually told us to just "see what happens" and to not pay and leave. He took a photo of us which we asked him to delete (he didn't- he posted us on the business Facebook page- see attached, I've removed my friend's face) and told us he could do "anything he wants" since he was the owner. In all of the breath he spent yelling at us, he could have offered a better solution, or just kindly told us there was nothing he could do. I asked the server if we could just pay and move on- he told us it was fine/on the house, and it seemed like dealing with a drunk for a boss wasn't out of the ordinary. I am sorry to see this kind of unprofessional behavior from someone who claims to have been in the restaurant industry over 30 years. Save your time and the headache and go to Meza or Three Fingered Jack's. We had an excellent experience and enjoyed the food immensely at both locations.
