The Stedman is a little off the path but has a nice atmosphere and good food. Good for Breakfast and Lunch.

Love that Stedman's is doing a holiday take home dinner menu for Christmas!

Wonderful weekend dinner at this funky fun cafe. We've heard the breakfasts were great and decided to try dinner. The food, wine list and desserts were terrific. And our server was just fantastic. They are working on a basement wine bar (so smart), which we look forward to visiting next year when we're back in the area. It's just three miles from Chautauqua Institution, and all families should give it a try. Also, we're headed back to Stedman tomorrow morning for breakfast. Can't wait until next time!

The service was quick and efficient. The latté has just enough strength to balance the vanilla. Good selection of breakfast sandwiches.

Nice people, charming space and delicious, affordable food. Exceptionally light and yummy pancakes. What more could you ask for?

Can we get this in a Michelin guide for those traveling to Chautauqua or Lily Dale? What did we have? A perfectly juicy selection of lobster tail full of its own sweetness resting on top of a bed of pappardelle pasta bathing in saffron cream and sweet summer corn for pops of texture. A lumpy deep fried crab cake that crackled on the outside and then fell apart into juicy flakes upon breaking the fried shell. A sour dough bread with herbed butter that melted between the half sliced folds holding it together until fully pulling apart. Iced tea and lemonade Arnold Palmer with flavors that kept us guessing and curious about the added sweet spice profile. Definitely coming back, perhaps every single meal I can when I'm in the area.

The artichokes were unique, flavorful, and one of the best appetizers I have eaten. Housemade, crispy that dipped into a very good creamy spinach dip. Pizza and wings are on the menu. Additionally, the beautiful, historic Atheneum porch provides lakeside ambience that is nothing short of perfect on a warm summer day. The food was ok. We had a charcuterie tray, bisque, and a salad, and while nothing was bad, it did seem to be somewhat bland. Wine choices were also adequate. The service left a lot to be desired in terms of speed and quality. Our server was polite, but they were slow to greet and offer drinks, and even slower to return to check-up on our needs. I got the distinct impression that the servers were college students there to earn money for the summer -- professionalism seemed lacking. Think of the Kellerman's Hotel waitstaff in the movie Dirty Dancing, and you'll understand. Still worth it for the view and the history!
