They were very helpful here. Customer service is lightning fast. They take Apple Pay. They give succinct explanations that help you get on your way. The facility is well-maintained and clean. Prices are fair, considering that Nantucket isn't exactly the cheapest island in the world.

So traveling with them is so easy. They have tvs on the boats and it's easy to sit inside or outside. There is food and restrooms on board. They can take cars etc. The tickets are easy to get at the ticket office and there are plenty of times to get you there and back. Very easily handicap accessible.

We took the fast Steamship Ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket and then back in late December just before they discontinue that service for the season. The staff who get you on and off the ship are very friendly. The ferry is comfortable enough for an hour and the snack bar is pretty basic but nice. The port is a decent place to wait for a few minutes before you get on the ship. Oh and there's wifi on the ferry. I'd gladly use this service again.

We used The Steamship Authority on two separate occasions for our trips to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard respectively. Both trips went off without a hitch. The Hyannis to Nantucket fast service was great. We did not take the car. It was an easy process, masks are required while in the ship. They had a bar with drinks and food items. It was busy but efficient. The staff were super helpful and made the process seem easy. The second trip was from Wood's Hole to Martha's Vineyard a shorter trip but we had to drive to Woods Hole from Hyannis. Not a problem, however there is no parking at the terminal but The Steamship has designated parking outside the town and they ferry you to the terminal. Again we didn't see a car and the process was seamless. Again masks are required per Covid protocols while on The Steamship properties. Both ferry trips were expensive but it is what it is. We got to enjoy a beautiful ride and take in the beautiful sunset stress free. I would strongly recommend for a day trip to not take the car. It's so much less stressful and both islands are easy walking.

The Steamship Authority is a pretty standard way to get your Nantucket tickets. I'd say get them way in advance, especially if you have a car and need to get on the slow ferry. The station itself is pretty sleek and low key. There's only one cafe to get snacks - though there are options on the boat. The set-up is quite organized. You have to stand in a long queue to get your pre-booked tickets, but the set up for getting cars on board is pretty streamlined. The website for getting your tickets really sucks and is not fully intuitive, but take your time to make sure you're getting the right dates! Dogs are welcome on board the boats, which is a fun treat. Be careful about sitting out on the back of the boat outside. You'll inevitably be sprayed!

For first time ferry rides could have used more directions but otherwise great experience! Highly recommend the clam chowder on board really good! Clean bathroom and nice seating. Be sure to be on time! They will leave you!

I've been traveling on the Steamship Authority since the days of the Nobska. Gritty and diesel driven; wouldn't change a thing about it!

If you want to bring your vehicle, you have to book the slower ferry. COST We paid $45 per person per trip, plus $2 tax (only $2?!) for a total of $182 plus $90 for prepaid off-site parking for 5 days. BOOKING It was easy to book the tickets over the phone. You can do it online as well. You get an email confirmation with information on where to go. PARKING & SHUTTLE On-site parking at the port is $35/day. You're paying for the convenience of disembarking, climbing into your vehicle, and leaving. Off-site parking is $18/day and not always staffed and you have to wait for a free shuttle (less than a 10-minute ride) that has a few stops and for which you're requested to Venmo tip or provide cash tip. The shuttle runs every 10 to 15 minutes. I don't recommend prepaying the parking because when you get there, there are huge signs saying if you don't pay at the machine, you'll get ticketed and towed. They didn't provide a parking pass when we initially booked or collected the car make/model/year so there was no way to prove that we had paid when we got to the off-site lot. We had prepaid $90 for parking and then on-site paid $90 at the kiosk but after a couple calls and emails, they understood what occurred and refunded us for one of the two charges. CHECK-IN When you get to the port, you have to get to get in line to get physical boarding passes---digital passes are not an option---so plan to arrive at the port at least 30 minutes before your departure time. BOARDING Boarding occurred about 10-15 minutes before departure. The lines get long. If you have a big party and insist on sitting together, arrive early to get adjacent seats. They're efficient and leave on time. BOAT The boat could use some cleaning of the windows, as the joy of sailing is to be able to see out clearly and not heavy streaks on the windows. You could also go outside to take pictures and get a better look. The seats were not comfortable but you're not on there for very long. It got crowded in late June so I can imagine it being crowded even more in July and August. Arrive early!

We were served three courses for lunch but our bill at the end was for only our drinks, because the lunch cost is combined with the train ticket. If you tip only on the drinks bill, you do your server an injustice so be sure to tip extra to cover their exemplary service for the whole meal. It seems that the Cape Cod Railway might help their servers by distinguishing the cost of the meal from that of the train. Totally worth the money!

One was haddock with a lobster sauce. One was baked chicken and also eggplant Parm or a sandwich. I however chose the baked haddock, not realizing it have a lobster sauce on it, which I'm allergic to so because they cook it to order right there on the train they were able to give me one that did not have any lobster in it. The server Mary And was wonderful. She was very attentive on top of everything brought these beautiful customized bloody Mary, the girls that was evil and then she was very talkative and informative. We couldn't have much of what they were saying over the course of the ride, but every once while you catch a little hint of something they were talking about I think that they had them Talking louder or the speaker itself turned up. It might've been a little bit better. But other than that, everything was perfectly wonderful the food was exceptional and I would definitely love to take my grandkids on this ride in the future, but just not give them a lobster lol.Everything was just top

From the…read moremoment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by two friendly gentlemen at the front desk--Patrick and another staff member whose name I didn't catch. They noticed that we had bicycles with us and immediately offered a safe place to store them indoors near the breakfast/pool area. Patrick, being an avid cyclist himself, even gave us helpful tips on the local trails to explore. The next morning, as we were preparing to check out, I met the owner, Liam Monaghan. He is a kind, approachable gentleman who genuinely cares about his guests and his staff. I let him know how impressed I was with the level of friendliness and attentiveness we experienced--it truly made travel feel easy and welcoming. The hotel itself is clean, accessible, and very convenient. The parking lot offers easy access to the rooms, which was much appreciated. At one point, we thought we might need to stay an extra night, and although the hotel was sold out, the staff promised to watch for cancellations. They even managed to secure us a room, though we ultimately decided to stay with family further down the Cape. That extra effort spoke volumes about their commitment to service. The continental breakfast was another highlight. I would call it a super continental breakfast! Along with breads, bagels, English muffins, and Danish pastries, there were also multiple cereals, yogurt, and other options--plenty to start the day off right. We highly recommend the Hyannis Travel Inn for its perfect location, outstanding staff, and welcoming atmosphere. We'll happily stay here again on future Cape Cod visits.

Looked clean at first glance, but we had to move the bed side table and there were crumbs and a scrunchie back there. Very limited outlets near the beds. The two gentlemen at the front desk couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. The staff were also very nice.
