She asked me when was the last time I cleaned the dryer vent with in the house. What?!? John taught me what to look for going forward. He was able to clean my unit out which was pretty extended of 33 feet, due to the way the house was constructed. John said that we made the top 10 list of the amount of lint and dog hair that came out of our system, over a 5 gallon bucket!!!!!!!; which consisted of Over 21 years of not knowing, the longest we have ever stayed in one house, many dogs, two kids and an active family life. John was professional, and personable. He provided more education on how often to clean, signs to look for if cleaning is needed sooner. He was very comfortable working while I watched. To replace my old HVAC system, I hired Santa Air to put in a SEER 17 Trane XR17, at a cost of…read more$16,327 (including furnace). The AC part of the installation has now failed 3 times. On May 31, the system quit (blank thermostat). Santa Air does not work weekend, so we were without AC until a tech came on Monday. He said that there was a loose wire that he reconnected and now it worked. On June 18th, same failure. Again, no tech on the weekend so wait until Monday. Tech stated that it was a furnace switch somehow affecting the AC unit, and replaced it. Then Aug 13th, same thing, black thermostat, no power. Luckily this was a Thursday, and the tech came on Friday. He tells me that there was a leveling problem with the drainpipe and the water backed up and hit a kill switch. He admitted this was probably the cause all along, and they had misdiagnosed. At this point, I asked to speak to the owner so that I could complain about 3 breakdowns in three months in the summer. Maggie is the person who answers phones and directs techs. When I asked to speak to the owner, she wouldn't tell me who it was or let me speak to him or her (if you go to the Secretary of State website, you'll find multiple filings. So either John Tran, or Duy Pham, or My Nguyen own it). Alas, at this point my only recourse is to leave a review for others to see what has been happening. I hope the tech is correct this time, but I have no reason to have confidence in that opinion. Clearly, if it breaks again, all I can do is report the company to the NC Board of Plumbing and Heating and to the NC AG for Consumer Protection.

This young man answered my call on a weekend when he was off the clock relaxing and was able to schedule me within a few days. He was very responsive, while some other companies I contacted, I'll leave nameless never returned any of my many calls. He kept me informed of his ETA and arrived right on time. He took the time to cover his shoes as well as educate me of the cleaning process. He explained everything in such great detail so I could understand. Earl was very helpful in finding a time that would work for us, and offered us a good price ($150 for all three). Ron, the technician who came over, did a very good job, especially on the rug that had had the most foot traffic and also tended to hang on to dog hair, and thus needed some extra cleaning. All told I think he was there for an hour and fifteen minutes or so. The rugs all looked nice and clean afterwards! I definitely felt I'd gotten a little more than I expected. I recommend them.
