I had an unprecedented incident 2 days before my scheduled move. The home purchase did not go through and instead of moving into a home - I needed to find storage quickly. Needless to say I was in shock. Understanding my angst Melissa at Dixon Moving adjusted my move schedule at the last minute and worked to find me storage and took care of all the logistics. There was no way my head was in the right space to deal with this - and Mellisa took care of all of it. When I ended up moving - the crew was quick, polite and respectful of my property. I told him that if he was not going to stick to the price he promised me, in writing that he and his crew could leave right now! I had to fight with him and ask him and his crew to leave, before he finally agreed to be a man of his word and hold to the original price he said was "firm". Upon arriving at our new house to deliver our belongings, instead of talking to me, he complained to my wife, behind my back and he bitched and moaned to her, about me and the the job that he had to do. PUBLIC STORAGE 3601 W Blue Heron BLVD , Riviera Beach…read more PUBLIC WARNING / REVIEW THEFT INSIDE THE STORAGE - BE CAREFUL! I'm leaving this warning for anyone considering renting a unit at this Public Storage in [insert location or address here, e.g., West Palm Beach, Florida]. Today I went to pick up my boat and discovered that I was the victim of a major theft inside this storage facility, a place that's supposed to be safe and monitored by security cameras 24/7. Stolen items: (2) Marine batteries - $400 (1) Rockville marine amplifier - $280 (4) Kicker Marine bar speakers - $1,600 (2) Kicker 6" speakers - $250 (5) Life jackets (1) Battery jumper - $90 (2) Lock keys (wheel and trailer locks) Total estimated loss: over $2,600. What's most outrageous is the attitude of the staff -- extremely rude, cold, and indifferent, showing no willingness to help at all. Not a single employee came to inspect the scene, even after I asked multiple times. It honestly feels like they're already used to these thefts -- or worse, they know exactly what's going on and choose to ignore it. I spoke with several other customers while I was there, and everyone confirmed that thefts are common at this location. This means there's a serious and ongoing security problem, and the management does absolutely nothing to protect customers. The storage company immediately denied any responsibility, saying they won't pay for the damages -- even though the theft happened inside their facility, which is supposed to be covered with cameras that "mysteriously" never record anything. This is unacceptable and shows a huge failure in security and management. It feels like a complete scam: you pay a high price for a "secure" storage space, trust your property there, and later find out that robberies happen often and no one is held accountable. My warning to everyone: Before renting here, go visit the location and look around the back area. Talk to other renters -- many will confirm that thefts happen all the time. Don't trust the so-called "security" they advertise. I truly hope this review helps prevent others from going through what I did.
