Management yelling at customers while I'm just trying to eat my dinner in my corner over here This place needs to get a grip on their employees, especially Miss Nicole, the manager on closing shift. Customer couldn't figure out a coupon, employee comes over and pushes it through for him, then afterwards the manager runs out from the back and up to their table while yelling across the store for him to come back with the coupon. The free fries are not worth losing your job, Nicole -- let the man and his family eat instead of causing a store-wide scene over a $3 fry. Thanks for the dinner and the show, but seriously get it under control Steak 'n Shake. That was an awfully embarrassing scene to watch unfold tonight. read more

Quick Affordable Lunch I ordered Original Double Steakburger with Cheese made with two steakburgers topped with American cheese, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and served with Beef Tallow Fries from the 4 Menu Deal Menu for $5.99 plus tax. The burger was made to order, prepared with fresh ingredients, served hot, and it was very good. I really enjoyed the crunch from the fresh ingredients, but I wish the onions were cut a little thinner and the pickle were sliced and not one long slice. I was super excited to finally get a steak 'n Shake in our area, but I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Every time I go, the service is pretty meh, with the employees being very indifferent about what's going on inside the restaurant. You order on a screen which obviously limits your interaction but still something just kind of feels off. It's always been very clean when I've gone and I've never had to wait a very long time for the food, and the food has always been very fresh and good. I guess I was just expecting something a little different for this location and I'm not sure if it hits the Mark for me yet! read more

The food was very good, staff was excellent, on site manager not so much. It was extremely chilly in the restaurant and when I asked the manager to raise the room temperature he said he had no control over the temperature. I knew better. read more

I LOVE Steak N Shake and so took my 2yr old grandson for his 1st visit to enjoy fries and the patriotic milkshake. To my surprise, I could not order with a human. I had to use the electronic menu board. No problem, except with my active 2 yr old in tow and having to scroll through all of the options, I would have so appreciated a helpful employee to assist with my order. None was offered, despite the fact that a male staff member (manager?) was standing nearby. I literally had to call to him and wave my hand for him to see me standing 10 feet away. To say he looked disinterested is accurate. He gave me brusque instructions (after I said this was a first for me), and acted like I really put him out. To top it off, after I finally finished my order and received it, it was wrong! Another man came to my table, asked my order name and walked away. No comment, apology, explanation why he needed my name...nothing. The best service and nicest staff there were the young lady at the window who welcomed me and the busboy who brought me a to-go bag. Your management staff (I assume it was the 2 men who spoke with me) have zero people skills. Decided to give this place a try being its new to the neighborhood. I ordered the bacon and cheese double, garlic double stack and frisco burger. Unfortunately due to being new and the hurricane about to come this place was packed with people both inside and drive thru . My entire order was incorrect , customer service is definitely lacking, however the food I did receive was very tasteful. I'm very allergic to milk, I checked their allergen menu before going and it seamed like no problem. Everything is done at a kiosk. So I asked a worker if they could make a dairy free burger or frisco melt he said yes but let me double check. I guess whoever he asked said there was dairy in everything. Before I went I looked at the allergen menu and godairyfree.org which said there's a very slim chance they cook with real butter but most steak and shakes use liquid margarine or beef tallow. Sounds a lot like the manager did not want to accommodate my allergies. Even though I was 90% sure he was lying I had to leave without food to be safe. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE STAFF AND INCOMPETENT MANAGERS! I ordered food one day and was told to pull up. They just left me sitting there for 30 mins, then when I went inisde to get my food the staff was sitting around eating without a care in the world. Then when I got home the burgers were plain with just the patty. I went there and was given a so called refund. The reciept says voided but its been over a month later and I still haven't received my refund. I've been going back and forth with my cc company which is Uber branch and they are horrible. They keep telling me the last 4 numbers of the card isnt on the reciept so they can't help me! I called the restaurant asking for some sort of resolution and the manager was mean and nasty! I would never be dealing with a missing refund if they had just gotten my order right in the first place. This is one of the worst restaurants I've ever dealt with! Went there twice. I waited an hour the first time and my order was not right, but luckily I was in house so I was able to ask them to correct it. This next time I waited an hour and 25 minutes for three kids meals in a an adult meal. Not only was our order incorrect, but they completely forgot the kids meal. The whole time I could see teenagers, laughing and fooling around in the back of the restaurant. These stupid computers hold no one responsible so there's no accountability for the order. They need to go back to having staff take your order because at least their would make eye contact when you wait way too long. I don't know who the manager is but they should be fired for the way they are running this store. At this point, I'm embarrassed to even be a patron to an establishment that is running so poorly.
