Restaurant was clean. Healthiest fast food you will get. Grass fed beef and 100% beef tallow fries. Food was delicious, not greasy and such a reasonable price!! Honestly, I'm giving this a five because I heard of all the low performances of this chain. This was my first time and I enjoyed my meal. For a fast food restaurant I really enjoyed my garlic burger so I am biased because I love garlic. Milkshakes were solid. The staff at this franchise were very passionate. Ambiance was classic and clean, so yes I would go back for this very exact burger. I'm from California so I've been a fan of in n out but this has the same charm. Sorry! No hate here. read more

I moved back into into the Westchase villages recently and now this is the closest SNS near me. As at all the SND chains I absolutely love the steak cheeseburgers here. Lately my son and I go for the cheddar cheesy melt burgers which griddles some of the cheese and goes so well with those crusty burger edges! We add portobellos every time. This one gets a 5 star because of the service. They always get my order correct even with all of my crazy requests...they always repeat back exactly what I request to get it right (clarifying instead of guessing)...and they're nice about it! At the window you get nothing but respect. I'm so glad I moved closer to this one as it beats the Citrus Park location hands down. I no longer feel like service is better on the weekdays during such and such time. It's done right all the time by all the employees I've encountered. read more

Our group of four arrived on Sunday February 15th at about 2:45am. At first everything was fine; we were seated immediately, had our drink orders taken immediately, and then the server returned to take our food orders. But after that, the service spiraled downhill. We ordered one pancake sandwich, no egg no cheese; the sandwich had cheese even though we requested without because one of our members is lactose intolerant. We ordered one country skillet with sub bacon, and we still got a skillet with sausage and with unappetizing .scrambled eggs. We ordered two California skillets, one chicken one sausage. Although the chicken skillet looked fine the sausage skillet had no cheese (even though there was no request for no cheese) and looked nothing like the other California skillet. I had to come up to the bar and ask for a side of bacon, fries (we ordered fries but didn't get it with our order) and hot sauce (I needed it and the server said he would get it, but he didn't and I found out that they actually ran out of hot sauce [so then why didn't our server tell us?]). The cook was more helpful than the server. Around the restaurant there were dirty dishes still laying around, and a tub full of dirty cups on one of the tables. It was there since we got there which was about half an hour until we received food. We continued to wait for the fries which never came, and that's when we approached the manager to finally say something about our lack of customer service. The closing manager, Stephanie, was incredibly rude to us. She was very stuck up, rolled her eyes a lot, pulled an attitude because of all of the complaints we had, and had the audacity to argue about it! We got free food out of the argument but it doesn't change the fact that the quality of food was poor and so was the service from both employee and manager. We love Steak n Shake and often go for late night meals or breakfast, but this particular location turned us off! read more

They are far different than the "shakes" you get at other fast food outlets. If you haven't been to a Steak 'n Shake, then you should make it a priority.
