You find weird stuff in your burgers sometimes (stickers from tomatoes etc) but service is always very friendly and I've never had a crazy long wait. The shakes are seriously good. read more

This place is very dirty, poor staff, very slow. Their food comes in small portions that will leave you still feeling hungry. I did not enjoy my experience here whatsoever. I write this sitting in the resturant, hungry and sad.. read more

Gag!!! THis place is NASTY! When you first walk in you are greeted with a very offending smell that smells like idk, cow crap. The floors are dirty, tables are dirty with rings from cups, food on the floor, and the whole place just looks seedy and every run down in comparison to the one in Auburn, Indiana that is close to my home. However, the service was not bad and out food was plenty warm and decent. All i can say is this place needs a complete remodel and overhaul. Its gross! read more

Undoubtedly the worst meal we have had in years along with the worst service. Our flight crew stopped here for a quick bite. Well that's what we thought it was going to be.. after a half an hour of waiting for a grilled cheese & Burgers we asked our waitress who was virtually non-existent where our food was. She said and I Quote "Let me go axe" we then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes before she returned saying that it would be right out. 10 minutes later she brought out what appeared to be a grilled cheese sandwich which consisted of two slices of American cheese slapped between two pieces of toasted bread. Emaciated overcooked burgers with accoutrements askew. We did not have any napkins or condiments on the table and she never came back needless to say we didn't leave a tip all our food was ice cold. We asked for the manager but we had a flight to catch. And it was another 10 minutes we were waiting for the manager so we just finally left my advice is don't eat here. read more

I don't think so. Hate their toothpick fries. Shakes are just mixed Fat and cholesterol and artificial flavored. They don't have good tastey food here, sorry. read more

This was terrible was in drive thru 25 minutes and then payed for food and three times they came to window to ask what we ordered

This place is horrible. When we went we waiting for them to mop the floor. When they did this they soaked out table so we had to wait for them to dry it. I got a bug it water. Waited 30 min for our food. Received our shakes way after our meal came. My wife's shake came in a broken mug with sharp edges. Finally left and went to the restrooms and they were dirty and had no paper towel so we had to leave with wet hands. Don't go. read more

So I was shopping on the west side of Jackson and thought I would stop and get something to eat. I thought I would try steak and shake because it had been a while. Well, after going there I realized why it had been a while. First of all the service at the window was atrocious! The girl was very rude and seemed more concerned with talking to her coworkers than being polite and kind and doing her job. She acted uppity and stuck up which is funny for someone working at a fast food window. She was more focused on her coworkers and talking than anything else. Now the food, I don't know why people like this food so much, it's not that good at all. The fries were kind of cold. I wasn't offered salt or ketchup for them. My burger was very under cooked and practically raw! It was disgusting I will never go here again!!!! I would recommend if you're reading this to not go there either, there are plenty of other options down the road. read more

So we went here last week for something different but really sucked we came in here at all. The floors are not clean. The atmosphere is horrible. The plates and silverware were dirty. Not just hard water dirty. You could see grease smudges on my plate and ketchup was still on my daughters plate and she hadn't used ketchup. Coleslaw came with my sandwich and it looked like they just slopped it on the plate. My daughter and her friend liked the thin cut fries and shake they ordered and the waitress was really prompt and friendly. About half way through my daughters friend had to use the restroom and when she came out said she was truly afraid to go in there. It was so disgusting and I am sure that bathroom had not seen the inside of a mop buckets or cleaning rags in a long time. How does this place even stay open ? Health department should be all over this place. I feel like you can tell a lot about a place by how clean the bathrooms are and this place was so unacceptable. Culver's the bathrooms are clean and food is good. Wendy's by the train station on Cooper. Bathrooms are clean and the food is good. I guess I think to myself if the bathrooms look like that. How sanitary are the employees making my food. Will never go into this place again. Food might be okay but if you care about cleanliness drive past this place and go to Culver's. read more

Double cheeseburger and fries. Food was good, burger was juicy. It seemed like chaos maybe shift change? Food took awhile. Abigail your service was excellent, you should consider taking your customer service skills to somewhere you can make real money. read more

Worst service EVER! Second time we've gone in a sat for over 10 minutes w/o service in a 6 month period. Asked a waiter for the manager and instead of getting him, he pointed and told me to get him from behind counter...WTH? read more

First off, I want to add that if yelp gave me the option to have negative stars, I would take that approach. Many things were wrong with my horrid experience at Steak n Shake on airline dr. We can start with the service with a subpar half dead zombie lady that I can only assume hasn't slept in a week. (And treated us how she looked) With half assed service and not understanding the simple task of splitting a bill it made our experience from a simple dinner, to a headache to pay for. I won't call out the waitress specifically but her name starts with S and ends with abrina. I could have forgiven the former if the food was at least subpar. But I sadly report that it wasn't even close to that. My burger was bathed in what I can only hope was grease, making the entire burger a sloppy mess. Their fries are a complete joke, and I could make better ones by a microwave package bought in bulk at Sams club. All in all had a great time and would go again. (Sike, u thought) read more

If you're going to eat here, go in. The drive-thru is a disaster. We had to repeat ourselves several times (because the cashier kept getting it wrong and we were just ordering combos, nothing complicated) and when we got to the window, our order was STILL wrong. We were the only people in line. Guess you get what you pay for. read more

Went for the first time last week. Clean and bright decor. Friendly staff. Decent speed of service. Good price. Would prefer this to M, BK, Wd's. read more

Usually a great place for a quick burger. Today, a Saturday, 2 waitresses. 1 cook, waited to be seated, waited for service, had to leave due to how long it was taking. Couldn't even get it to go, it would be at least 20 minutes! They need to get their act together if they dont want to loose regular customers. read more

This place is shit, Waited in line for 15 min for 2 cars, then got to the window and waited another 10 min for out shakes and 20 for our food. Probably the shittiest service ever and the lady was very rude. read more

Normally I don't have a problem here the service is usually fast...and the food is usually good...however tonight was not the night. My family came to the restaurant after my son's graduation with a party of 16 .I understand that there was only 2 waitresses working..but it's a Friday night..there should be more. We where seated promptly..but we wanted 30 minutes before we talked to anyone else about drinks. When the waitress finally came we told her that the other table was out party also..she said I can't take there order that's a different waitresses area. As she was taking the order she rapidly pulled the menus out of or hands. To speed people up....30 minutes later we had to go ask the manager where our drinks where and they said he would come to us...10 minutes later he finally came and asked us what drinks we ordered..at that time the waitresses magically showed up with the drinks...as we was sitting waiting for the rest of the food another waitress did come out and take the other tables order...and watched 3 people leave because of such slow service. Finally the food came and we had to ask 3 times for silverware and when it came it was just left in a pile on the table read more

Love the food. It's always good and the price is great. The serving staff leaves a lot to be desired though. My family and I went here for lunch this afternoon and there were quite a few waiter eases around and yet it took a long time to seat anyone who came in. The tables were left dirty. They missed things from our order and seemed really put out at asking about the missing items. The food is great but the service makes it nearly not worth it read more

My son and I went there today... our order was put in at 10:55 am and our food finally came at 11:40. I could understand if they were busy but there were 5 total tables that needed served including us. I will not be going there again for a long time especially if I am hungry. The server was nice and the food good but not really worth the wait. It was also a little annoying that she brought the bill for me to pay BEFORE we got out food read more

My husband and I came here to get some food after I got out of work. It was late. It looked like we had just missed a huge rush. There were a couple of large groups still there when we came in. Dispite all of this, our server Dy took excellent care of us. Even though I'm sure she was tired and ready to go home. We didn't have to wait long for any of our food or shakes. She made sure that all of our order was to our liking, offered to fix anything that might be wrong. (Nothing was wrong. Our order was perfect) This was one of my favorite visits because Dy made it a very enjoyable experience. Keep it up Dy, we will be back again. read more

Man this place wack asf, I ain't get my shake till after I ate my goddamn food like tf?‼

This restaurant was absolutely filthy. Smells like old grease. Spit on mirrors in rest room floors were not cleaned. Never go here again

This was our first visit to this location but have enjoyed other Steak and Shakes. Upon seating our server informed us they were out of Sprite, Root Beer, bananas, and two other items I can't recall. We ordered drinks for our party of four. She brought back three of the four drinks forgetting mine. We reminded her and placed out order. We waited a solid fifteen minutes for our meals to arrive in which time she did not return with my beverage. There were about 8 servers working and only 4 tables of customers. We watched our server stand and chat with other servers at the drink station but she still didn't bring my coke. When we finally received our meals we asked again for my drink and more napkins. She said she forgot and after another long wait when we were finished eating she brought my coke and charged us for it. Not pleased. We will not return. read more

Went to steak n shake for a quick dinner omg home ordered a number 5 with chilli cheese fry. The cashier was named Noah something a bigger kid the guy who make the fid brought it to him he picked up the chilli chest fry looked at them and chuckled said something the the guy who brought it he laughed also, so he then proceeds to grab a shit ton of napkins and sets them 9 top of the frys and hands them to me I turn on my light and check the food and it's just frys with cheese on top and half the frys are smashed in the lid. Then I waited for him to reopen the window and he just stood there and pretended he didn't see or hear me. They also didn't give us straws or a Fork to eat the nasty frys with. This place sucks it used to be good. I got home and called the manager Jake and I told him and he just would say oh okay hmm with pauses and then silence at the end of the call. I want my money back I'll be calling the corporate office on this one read more

Steak ’n Shake - Fast Food Near Me - Jackson, Michigan

What a nightmare this once wonderful establishment has spiraled downward to. Nasty melted shakes are the only thing one can rely on here. Ironic seeing as how this sad joint has the word 'shake' in its name! One star is all this disgusted customer can muster, the employees are friendly and welcoming at least. Indeed, the food takes eons to make it to the patrons. Even the simplest food is a challenge for the crew. read more

Prior to coming to the restaurant, I had an accident to where I hurt my ankle. Some friends and I go through the drive through and before we order Our meal I ask for a bag of ice for my injury. The lady at the window had a giant bag of ice in her hand ready to give to me. A+ on the service, food and hospitality! read more

I've live in this city for years, way before Steak 'n Shake came to town. I ate here a few years ago and I had a neutral view of this place. Recently my wife and I wanted to try some place out of the norm for us so we came here. The food was good, the prices extremely reasonable, and it was clean. We've visited this place twice since and have been very pleased. This is a decent place to eat if you want to go cheap and simple. read more

Floors were covered in grease and dirt, littered with crayons, papers, silverware and had mustard on the floor. Music was very loud and inappropriate. As we were leaving the bleach smell was very overwhelming to the point it made me want to vomit. We step outside and see the cook sitting in his car smoking what appeared to be a joint!! Will never visit this place again!!! It was appalling and disgusting! I wouldn't let my dogs eat here! read more

Very depressed. Waited a solid 15 minutes for 3 shakes. I forgot to feed my dog before coming and he's probably starved to death by now. The table next to us has twice the people and got their food and shakes delivered in half the time. Whatever the waitress is with the colored hair and the face piercing is doing with her life is beyond disappointing. But I give the shake an 8/10. Service is an absolute garbage/10. Also, the characters on their kids meal could not possibly have more original names. Shaker the Shake? Really? Might as well call me Humaner the Human. Salt levels are dangerously high. read more

Really terrible service for a fairly simple dining experience. Waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged by our server, and then she forgot our drinks and we had to ask a hostess to get them for us. When we finally got our food, my fiancé didn't even get what he ordered. Bummer, because we used to like coming here! read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. Yes I understand that I came into your 24hr restaurant at 2:00am but that does not give you the reason to forget your customers. At least 10 tables were littered with dirty dishes and looked like they haven't bothered to buss in an hour. It took us 20 minutes to get our shakes and 35 minutes to get our food with a total of 4 active tables in the restaurant. Our server never checked up on us, never asked if we needed anything, nothing. They have definitely beat Buffalo Wild Wings in horrible service. Do not come here late at night, you won't get anything. Oh btw, my food was cold too. read more

Food tends to be greasy. Went one time around 5am, and I sat in the drive through for a few moments. Then said "hello" to see if someone would help me with my order. Then I went to the front of the building and the one young blonde hair, tall server was on her phone, and the other person was a young male who was sleeping on the counter. ( sitting on chair but head and arms resting on counter). Ended up not being able to get my meal and went to another place, read more

The shakes here are awesome. Food is decent I like the double guacamole burger. 24 hours and drive thru. Cheap eats and they will send you coupons in the mail. read more

DO NOT order shakes to go! Fives times now I have ordered to go shakes and they have been terrible. I do not recommend ordering shakes to go. read more

Do not go here. They can't take an order to save their lives. Food was nasty. Fries were cold and hard. I paid $16 for food that was to nasty to eat. I'm pissed. Having recently spent some time in Austin TX I am now a breakfast taco devotee so I was happy to discover that SnS was offering them. Went there this AM and, yikes!, those were some miserable excuses for breakfast tacos. Got one of each and none of them met even the barest standard of good food. They consisted of skillet warmed flour tortillas, one of which had a big chunk torn out of it, filled with a scant serving of the various fillings and by scant I mean maybe a couple of teaspoons each. So basically they were egg/potato/sausage flavored tortillas. Don't know if they're this crappy at all SnSs, I suspect not and here's why. It felt like I did something to piss of the youngish guy who prepared them but since I'd just walked in and got these to go it's probably that he was either really bad at his job (in both food prep and customer service) and/or working through a nasty hangover. In short, really crappy food dished out with really crappy customer service made for an unpleasant Sunday morning. This should be a one-star review but the second star is for the pleasant girl at the register and that they sell bags of ice at a good price. An afterthought: somebody from SnS ought to take a trip to Austin (or even a quick trip through Google images) to see what breakfast tacos ought to look like! read more
