Wonderful food and they were so accommodating on short notice with a big party! The selection of food was amazing and their burgers were delicious. I split half of my Red Mountain Dry (pic added) with another family member's Spicy one. Both were flavorful and amazing! The interior is cozy and seems family friendly too. Next time I probably will order the fries instead of the green salad. My instinct is usually to not order fries and share as most restaurants tend to give a lot of fries but this one face just the right personal amount. Ok so we were wandering around searching in vain for our (now out of business??) Yelp find when we saw this taste of America a couple doors down. Starving, we tossed a coin between this (boring - zzzz) place and the cevicheria a couple doors down ... Steak Burger won. And, WOW ... so did we! This place is anything but boring (as long as you are ok with a burger not being boring). The meat is fresh and tasty and the creative constructions are VERY delicious. I recommend the OX meat ... I woosed out and picked the beef, but wifey got the OX and man was it good! Not to dis my beef (I had the English Burger) in any way - it was fantastic but the OX was special. Anyway, pick what you will ... the meat is the star here. Lastly the fried potatoes were absolutely perfect. Overall, the burgers were okay. I had the jalapeño with guacamole, my partner had a basic cheese burger and our buddy had the Ox burger. The guacamole was not very flavorful, but the Cajun sauce was spicy and jalapeños hot. The French fries could have been fresher. Tasted as if they were cooked hours earlier. read more

We were starving and really craving a quesadilla, which was pretty hard to find in Madrid. Just as we were about to give up and settle for another jamon y queso sandwich, we stopped here. To be honest, I only stopped because I saw the words STEAK and BURGER together and my stomach automatically did back flips, lol! But low and behold they had quesadillas on the menu. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms, but it was such a good flavor mix with the chicken and cheese. I devoured that meal along side a smoothie that was blended to perfection. Fooled twice, shame on me. Let me start by saying it's clear the Steakburger waitstaff goes through high-level customer service training. Their attentiveness and drive toward customer satisfaction is an oasis in Madrid. By the way, the franchise I went to is the one on Fuencaral, in the Chueca/Justicia area. Now, the food. If only management would focus on quality in the kitchen as much as it does with front-of-house staff. Both times I ordered a buey burger "al punto" (medium) from the center column, choosing roast potatoes as my side. Both time the potatoes came out cold. Both times the servers graciously fixed the problem post-haste, and the taters were heated. The first time, my burger came out rare. Last night, it came out well-done; the server corrected the issue, issuing me another burger (along with me having pangs of guilt about wasting food). The server waited while I cut into burger #2, and I thanked him. In reality, it was rare. Too hungry at this point to wait for a third burger, and not wanting to come off as an even fussier guiri, I scooped out and set aside gobs of gooey, mushy raw meat and ate around the edges. The poor waiter was flagged down yet again when the sour cream that was on the plate the first two times went missing. I will say that the onion rings we shared were pretty tasty, served in a cute mini fryer basket. You know, if this was the corner greasy spoon or a service plaza on the highway, I wouldn't have any expectations of a short-order cook caring about the doneness of a burger -- nor would I probably be asked how I'd like it. Is it difficult to get the temperature of a thick burger patty just right? Absolutely. However, when one is being charged 16 Euros for a hamburger, and "Steakburger" is the name of your business, you had better get it right, at least on the second try. I don't think it will be worth the risk trying this place a third time. read more
