I stopped by this restaurant to dine in as I was starving. I went through the reviews to make sure I wasn't at the wrong choice. The server was courteous and guided me to my table. To be honest, the place isn't vibrant, and the interiors are a bit dull. I ordered the Free Range Chicken plate. When I received the food, the chicken was as warm as room temperature, and the vegetables were a bit warmer. It seemed like the food was pre-cooked and reheated on the microwave . The food should had been sizzling. Can't say I liked the experience as I expected much more!

Nachos...oh yea, they're good.

We had just arrived in Madrid and needed some thing filling and tasty. We found Steak Burger and we're glad we did. The location was clean, modern and our server was welcoming. He answered our menu questions and even volunteered additional info. That was very nice. We were able to enjoy a sidewalk table and people watch. The food came out fairly promptly, but most importantly, it was very good. The burger was super tasty, however, the french fries stole the show. They were excellent. The nachos were also very good. I love the fact that they layered the toppings in between layers of chips instead of just sticking all the toppings on top... That little extra touch goes a long way. The only reason I did not give five stars is because it did seem just a touch pricey but you have to pay a little extra if you want it to be delicious. If I ever make it back to Madrid, my first stop will be Steak Burger.

This place was amazing. You can really taste the quality of their food. I ordered the Pollo a la Padilla burger with patatas orniadas and it was amazing, the portion was perfect and there were not stingy with the chicken or bacon. My husband got the British burger with patatas fritas and it was so yummy. I totally recommend this place after visiting the museum.

OMG this place is amazing. Best burger I ever had! In fact... i've never really cared for burgers. But this was by far the most amazing burger I ever had! I just had a normal ox burger medium rare. The meat had a texture like butter and melted on the mouth. I feel I should have had it without bread so not to mask any flavour. Prices were very reasonable!

A bit of a splurge but worth it when in Madrid and in the mood for a steak. Located a few blocks…read moreeast of Puerta del Sol, it's nice because there are no hordes of people you have to navigate to find it. This is a place for people who appreciate their food and the experience, not for the tourist masses that are looking to get fed quick and cheap. It is an interesting set up as they have dining rooms on both sides of the street. I was in the one on the east side of the street and taken downstairs into the basement which has the looks of a refurbished ancient cellar. I had a 2 top in the corner to myself with a great view of the room so I could appreciate what everyone else was eating. I had a very civilized time. Frenetic Tapas this is not. There are white linen tablecloths present, a small container of housemade chimichurri, menus on line, great wi-fi service, a full bar and wine list, and menus that are bovine centric. I had an Argentine Negroni (the Argentine nod is due to a splash of Fernet Branca giving it a slight minty taste on the back end) and a glass of affordable, high ranking Tempranillo. These were perfect with the olive and bread starters with EVOO/Spanish vinegar on the table to mix to taste and also served with compounded butter. I was there to eat and the Mollejas (veal sweetbreads) are a must in my opinion. They are listed as a house specialty and come on a charcoal heated sizzle plate served with a side of broad flaked sea salt to finish to taste. Crispy edges and creamy textures throughout with a hit of grilled lemon and they were simply sublime. I also took down an Entraña (skirt steak) that seemed larger than its described 300 grams. Also served on a sizzle plate it was perfectly cooked by some expert grill guys upstairs. To ensure that I ate something with color, I had a salad on the side that I dressed to taste with the EVOO/Spanish vinegar on the table. The service here is friendly, professional, and not overbearing. My meal was about $85 USD which is pricey by typical Madrid eating standards but it was worth it considering the quality, quantity, and variety of what I experienced. I would be happy to go back here again any time I'm in the area!

I had flap steak with fries and leek confit- beautifully prepared and the steak was the best steak I've ever had in my life- cooked medium rare to perfection. When I found out I was coming to Madrid I had to book a table. First things first, my suggestion is book way in advance. This place fills up fast. My friend and I waited too long and the only seating we could get was at 11:15 PM. No big deal though there's plenty of places you can get a light snack in the surrounding area while exploring the city. Walking in, the architecture immediately hits you. Low ceilings, gorgeous old brick, tight dining rooms, it really feels like you stepped back in time. The whole atmosphere is elevated without being stiff. Staff was super friendly and made the experience feel smooth from start to finish. There's also apprently a really nice wine cellar at the bottom I overheard other patrons bragging about. Food wise, I will keep it real, it was good, just not my favorite meal in Madrid. The sangria was solid, definitely one of my highlights. The croquettes were fire. Crispy, creamy, exactly what you want. My friend's seafood casserole was actually really good too, I lowkey wish I went that route. Now the misses. The sautéed vegetables with Iberian ham didn't do it for me. The veggies needed seasoning bad, and the ham leaned a little too salty, so together it just felt off. The suckling pig, the signature dish, was good, but I was not blown away. If I find myself returning here, I would explore other options. After dinner, there was a little show and they let you keep a souvenir menu, which was a nice touch and made the night feel more memorable. Overall I had a solid 3.5 star experience rounded up to 4. Sobrino de Botín is history, it is iconic, and it is worth saying you have been. Just do not expect it to be the best meal of your trip. Hit Botín, soak it in, then go explore the rest of Madrid's food scene, because that is where things really start to shine.

The last two visits I've been fortunate to be seated next to the kitchen for a front row view of the magic. They have a wood-fired oven, and the artichokes may be one of the best things I have ever eaten. I normally order the grilled chicken breast and my bf had one of the best steaks of his life here. The grilled Iberian "secreto" was tender and juicy and flavorful. The paella had plenty of squid, prawn, clams, and mussels, and the rice itself had a very strong (in a good way) seafood aroma. We hadn't planned on eating there but decided to drop in. The interior is cozy and inviting, while outdoor seating is available if you prefer to dine al fresco (though it can get a bit windy outside). In fact, our water glass toppled over with one gust of wind. Reservations are recommended, as the place seems popular. The menu features a wide variety of traditional Spanish dishes, and everything we tried was delicious. Our T-bone steak arrived perfectly cooked, served with grilled peppers and sliced golden potatoes, it was simple, flavorful, and satisfying. The squid was also very good, but the standout dish was the asparagus in tempura with almond mayonnaise. Perfectly fried and incredibly light, it was absolutely outstanding. Another highlight was the homemade Iberian ham croquettes served with candied pepper sauce which were creamy and rich on the inside with a delicate crisp on the outside and a wonderful balance of flavor. To accompany the meal, we enjoyed a few glasses of Rioja Azpilicueta Crianza (Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo, 12 months aging, 2021). It was a bit on the dry side, but helped take the edge off the chilly wind while we sat outside enjoying a late lunch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even indulging my enthusiasm for photographing the slicing of the Iberian ham. All in all, La Mi Venta delivered a fantastic, authentic Spanish dining experience with great food, good wine, and welcoming service in a charming setting. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Madrid.

The highlight of it was the truffle sauce which blended with everything including the boiled potatoes and my wife's fries. Her sweet and a bit spicy Iberian pork was juicy, but the fries were a disappointment. They had too much crust and were a bit over done. The Homemade Brownie was delicious with the Butterscotch ice cream. I wish the brownie would have been hot; that would have put it over the top.
