More time went by without any updates, so I tried calling back, just to realize that my phone number had been blocked. I assumed maybe the line was just busy, and gave him the benefit of the doubt. I continued trying to call each day, with the same results - nothing - for weeks. Finally, after a couple months of no tracking # and no communication whatsoever, I left them a bad review on the internet. Well, that sure changed things.. All of a sudden, my phone number was unblocked and Matt was blowing up my phone, begging me to take down the review. At this point, he was finally honest in the fact that he did not and never had the product, and that he had lied about the shipping. He ends up sending me an entirely different product than what I had ordered, but I just chalked up my losses and was grateful to finally be able to ride my bike again.. Flash forward 10 years, and Matt Shine is now calling me out by name in his responses to his other unsatisfied customers in his Google Reviews!! Dude intentionally took advantage of and scammed a 16 year old, and then held a personal grudge against that 16 year old for 10+ years.. Over 1 single bicycle tire. That should tell you everything you need to know about Matt Shine and his integrity as a human being. Let alone a business owner. I would avoid Time2Shine like the plague. Garbage business ran by a garbage human being. Matt Shine is not to be trusted!

I resigned on 1/12/2024 after 3+ years as an Account Manager. HPS Seals is run by an antiquated, nepotistic, and predatory leadership team and I would highly advise any competent individual to stay clear of HPS Seals for any role as you will constantly be let down by management, culture, work life balance, and compensation. I've listed a few specific reasons below. - Leadership will decrease established salary - CEO does not lead by example. He is never around, constantly arrives late to work and meetings, talks over you in meetings, and consistently leaves early despite requiring all other employees to be on site until 5pm. When he leaves early, he will delegate all his work to the Customer Success Team which has dwindled down from 4 individuals to 2 (throughout my tenure) after constantly being overworked. - Due to the toxic culture, unsupportive upper management and unrealistic goals, sales rotates through new managers like clockwork. I reported into 4 different sales managers within the 3 years I worked here. - Lack of flexibility and work life balance. The company refuses to modernize to a more hybrid work schedule, and requires all national sales representatives and office employees to be in office four days a week despite this being unnecessary to business needs. Employees are permitted to work from home one day a week, but it cannot be on a Monday, and it has to be a different day each week. - HPS is founded on Nepotism, which adds significantly to the toxic culture. Family drama becomes work drama everyday, and even in meetings. You will also be watched like a hawk by CEO's son who was placed in management after getting a MBA to create unnecessary and redundant processes. He will reprimand you for arriving a few minutes late or leaving early. - You will be forced to sign a non-compete which they will enforce if you decide to excel your career elsewhere. (Even if you are a sales rep who did not handle major accounts, and is willing to negotiate scope/territory) The CEO took me to court to keep me out of work for 3+ months when I was simply trying to escape their toxic culture and find a position that better suited my personal needs and career goals. Again, if you are a capable, qualified, and skilled individual, I would highly encourage you to avoid submitting your application to HPS Seals.
