Rented a house at 100 CR 904 on Smith Lake for a family weekend and had a nice time until the last…read morenight. Our dog began barking in the living room and when we checked, there was a snakeskin on the coffee bar, the top shelf of coffee bar and on the floor. We sent Smith Lake Rental a message and told them we were leaving AFTER trying to locate the snake. We also sent a message through AirBnB as instructed in the listing. We received no response. None of my family felt safe in the property and we hurriedly packed and left. My son drove all the way back to Savannah, GA arriving at 3 am. When we finally spoke to someone who identified himself as "Benjamin", he not only implied that we were lying, but that it was decoration and we shouldn't have been bothered. He then apologized that it "bothered" us. We made coffee several times per day and it wasn't there, then it just appeared; but according to Benjamin and the home owner, it was part of their "decor" and they didn't feel that we should be in anyway disturbed by it although neither of them could tell us where their lovely snakeskin "decor" was located before it suddenly appeared on the coffee bar. Further, because according to them it was "just a rat snake skin", we were acting ridiculous. The final straw was when "Benjamin" told my husband "I am ASSUMING you're a grown man so you should understand this situation". Benjamin hung up on my husband TWICE after insulting him and our family (called all of us ridiculous and overdramatic for leaving early). I'm unsure how Smith Lake Rentals stays in business if their agents treat the guests in this manner. Thank you Benjamin and homeowner of 100 CR 904 in Crane Hill, AL for your insulting statements and disingenuous "apology".

Overall would stay here again and recommend staying here to others. Some details from our stay on…read morethe first floor room 1. Highlight was the charm and beauty of the property, quiet and safe nature, and convenient location - overall good value. What can elevate the experience more is below some notes: *Theres no breakfast, which we knew, but there can be perhaps some small pastries? *Outlets were limited....solo travelers probably not an issue; bring extension chords if having multiple outlets is going to be important *Hooks / Hangers were non existent; if you need to hang clothes, make sure to bring clothes you won't need to to iron Water filter inoperative in hallway during our whole stay; a bummer in case you want hot water, tea or coffee. *Lamps in room were nonexistent; it's either using the bathroom light or room light. No in between *Nice bathroom was spacious and a mix of character and modern. Shower pressure was nice and hot. No plungers found anywhere.....we didn't need it but another guests staying stairs was roaming around the hotel to find one for their room and eventually found on in the dining room bathroom. *No staff present - Unless we missed them, we didn't not see any staff present; it's clear someone was cleaning some of the common areas but no one cleaned our room during our stay and again the small details mentioned earlier (broken coffee/hot water machine) would have really elevated our stay. *Overall - Nice mix of classic features + modern touches in the property and room. Beautiful grounds and house with the garden, plants and flowers. You can tell the grounds were kept impeccably. Indoors was also kept immaculate with the exception of the small details mentioned earlier. We utilized the beautiful dining room on our last evening. *Quiet, safe area even for your car despite the transients and homeless in the area. We never felt in danger for ourselves or vehicle. No non-guests were ever seen loitering on the property grounds. *Parking - nice perk in the back of the house as parking is pretty strict in nearby business lots. We also rarely saw indication of other guests other than the cars parked outdoor and one guests we saw in person in the common area. *Great location - easy to find, walkable to stores and restaurants, short drive to grocery.

Reading the bad reviews is something I should have looked at before we toured the dirty, dingy and…read morein some parts run down property; but we still need a place, badly and this garbage company can't seem to get their information straight, whether it's included amenities, fees or eligibility criteria. In a way I'm glad they rejected our application but it's immensely frustrating and stressful to think things will go your way only for them to remind you that even with all the flaws in their operations you somehow have more that they determine at their own discretion and can't overlook, it came down to an income deficiency that we thought we had covered only for them to shoot us down with information different from what we had read. What a terrible company and I suggest everyone read reviews before doing business with them!

I'll be honest. I was nervous renting with them based off all the reviews. But I also know 9 times…read moreout of 10 people only leave reviews if they are unhappy. I personally am very happy with my experience, and if the opportunity arises again to rent from them. I'd be happy to. They were more than fair when it came to the move out inspection. They were as fast as possible when it came to maintenance request. They were polite when reaching out for anything I needed. Respect goes both ways, if you show respect. You'll usually receive it back. As long as you abide by the contract you signed, treat the home as your own, and pay your rent on time. You're more than likely going to be fine. There was a mix up at move out, and they were quick to go above and beyond to make it better.

I travel at-least 3 to 4 times a year and honestly this hotel has been the WORST hotel/suite I've…read moreever booked. For starters, I knew that parking would be off site but it's literally a 5 min walk from the hotel to off site parking. Honestly this aggravated me a bit at first but I was concentrating on enjoying my vacay so I thought a little cardio after drinking and eating and hanging with old friends wouldn't kill me. But then I find out the doors to the hotel building lock after a certain time, the first night I was locked out and was knocking on the door until someone came down to leave and they let me in smh. I immediately called the customer service number and complained about this issue. The next morning the manager called me and even came up to my room and gave me a scan card to get into the building. So at this point I'm basically like ok, no more issues I can just enjoy my trip and not have to worry about getting into my hotel. I proceed to again hang out with my old friends catching up having a great time @this point it's 1am almost 2 am. I'm already dreading this 5 min walk in the damn dark to the hotel but I'm not letting it get to me because I know I can at-least get into the building to my room RIGHT? HELL NO !!! I got to the front doors and scan the card the manger gave me was not working, I walk to the back of the building to the back doors at 1am almost 2am in the dark to scan the card and the door still does not open. I start panicking because at this point I'm outside by myself it's dark asf I can't get into the building. I had to call customer service and speak to someone overseas for them to text me a damn pin in order for me to be able to enter the building. My entire stay with mint house has been a complete inconvenience! Do not waste your time and money staying here. I've never had this issue traveling with a hotel and I travel often. This was unacceptable and it fucked up my trip I did not feel safe. This place is unorganized, and they have poor communication!
