This Staybridge opened about 2 yrs ago and it is great. Clean and modern rooms, a clean pool with a small waterfall, a mini-golf area for the kids to enjoy, comfy beds, a theatre room, and a wonderful continental breakfast buffet with lots of breakfast faves. Dear Westay, Firstly let me tell you a back story on why we chose your hotel. I have family that lives in the area, their house flooded in 2016 we rushed down to help gut the house to prevent further damage all while they are tucked away at your hotel (formally Staybridge) with their two doggie kiddos. They RAVED about your hotel! So a year later when we planned a family trip there was no other option than to stay at your hotel. Our 4 kids loved the movie room and the pool and my husband and I loved the fact that there was free breakfast and dinner 3 times a week! For 5 days our stay was around 950 I think. Fast forward to Thursday 2/24/22 my husband and made a business trip and decided to to surprise my family in Louisiana. By the time we got there we had been on the road for 24 hours, we ate dinner and proceeded to your hotel. When we entered the gentleman behind the desk was talking with someone, he stopped and greeted us and checked us in. He told me the price was $243 plus the pet fee $258. Little expensive but we're tired. We head to the room and we realize this is not the same great hotel we once stayed at. Theres a large stain in the bathtub, the walls are dirty, you can tell where the plaster has gotten wet and not been fixed so expected mold there, look at the ceiling and it looks like its been flooded from above and theres mold on the ceiling AND on the back of the bathroom door, the door itself had spots and hair on it. Back in the main room part of the flooring is up but its fine a table leg was set on it, theres something on the counter thats a white powder, the plaster around the air unit is peeled off and on the floor, the bed was so creaky from the metal springs and the frame that we tried our hardest not to move, the phone line was CUT(which I would think would be against some sort of regulation) and there was no Bible. Where do I start. We booked 5 rooms back at the beginning of February this year for our family reunion. Just found out this week only because I called to confirm our reservations that the property is under renovations and there is no pool to be used. With kids, a pool is a must! I can't believe that management hasn't contacted their guests. Not to mention that the website photos are misleading because I was told that the units had ovens like pictured. My family canceled all of our reservations just in time to book at another property. Time is of the essence. Our dates were check-in June 27th and chevk-out out on July 1st. I have never had an experience this bad at a hotel before. I drove nine hours to get to Covington. I called ahead to let the hotel staff know I would be checking in very late, and would have two cats. The girl I spoke with was very helpful and friendly. When I got to the hotel around midnight, it was pouring down outside. The guy behind the counter was gone for a minute, and when he got there and checked me in I told him I had two cats and asked where the carts were. He pointed out where they should be and there were none. I asked again where the carts were. He was dismissive and said he guessed people kept them and then went back to eating. I walked around upstairs looking for a cart in a hallway before giving up and I had to make several trips over the course of half an hour in the pouring rain through a side door that I had to prop open because the card reader wouldn't work (I was locked out the first time and had to go the long way around in the rain) to get two cats and a very metal pet carrier up the stairs as the elevator was much, much further from the side door. The carrier and cat's combined weight is about 40 pounds, which is a little under 1/3 of me. I know that the staff saw me on the first trip up the stairs (soaking wet, crying and wandering around trying to figure out whether I should try the elevator or take the stairs on my next trip with the heavy crate... couldn't make it to the elevator so that went up the stairs, too). I was so sore and upset and soaked that I gave up on getting any of my own bags inside and just got the bare minimum stuff for the cats. On my fourth and final trip with just the bag of cat food and water bowl, one of the women downstairs said "excuse me" several times and then asked if I was ok from afar while standing next to the man who originally "helped" me and another employee. I was upset shaken up (and JUST finished getting my stuff inside without the cart) so I just put up my hands and said I was fine and left. It was humiliating. I've also never stayed in a hotel, much less a pet friendly one, that didn't have something blocking access under the bed. My very traumatized cats got out of their kennels, bolted under the bed, and IMMEDIATELY found a hole in the lining to climb up in and I struggled to get them out for over an hour in the morning so I could leave. I had to lift and shake the entire bed, and then climb under the filthy bed area that has not been cleaned to get them out and back in their crates. When I finally got my cat out, there was a micky mouse band-aid stuck to her. This morning when I called to ask for a cart to be brought to my room when available, the desk clerk made several excuses before I went through my entire story, at which point she made excuses for the previous night ("There are only four carts. They're not allowed to leave the front desk" despite everyone including the front desk clerk spending all of their time in the dining area) I was told she would try when one became available. Half an hour later I had not heard back, so I called the front desk again and the manager answered. He told me that it was very busy with the carts and that there are only THREE for the whole hotel and that people were standing in the parking lot "poaching" carts from other guests before they even made it back into the hotel. After initially maintaining that it was just too busy at the moment during peak checkout times, I told him about my experience the night before and he relented and had someone send me a cart. At checkout he told me they had found it in a hallway and that people sometimes keep them in their rooms. I hope that the lack of carts, room cleanliness, and poor service will be addressed. It was an embarrassing and unnecessary experience. I have never stayed in a hotel that did not make sure that there were sufficient carts for their guests to use, and three is absolutely not enough for a hotel to function. It was really gross pulling a used band-aid off of my cat. I have never had a worse experience while traveling. read more

Stayed here during the month of May 2017. I've never had a bad experience at one of these hotels. The lady working the front desk the evening I checked in was awesome. Kind, courteous and seemed genuinely happy to be there and help her guest. Every hotel chain need employees like her. I also like the afternoon happy hour and the awesome breakfast provided by this hotel. I will definitely stay here again. read more

I'm still at a loss for how I was able to walk in and be in the middle of checking in to a room and mid-sentence the front desk agent asks how he can help the person behind me and proceeded to get them checked into a new room. When I said something and asked if we could finish what we were in the middle of the response was "can I just finish with her?" After staying here the hotel is completely unacceptable. The shower is lukewarm and the tub fills up so you get to stand in your dirty water as you shower....disgusting. When I let them know about this they said a manager would call me...never happened. Also, none of the side doors work to open them...you're forced to use the front door to drag all of your things in and out. We will NOT stay here again and I'll be disputing the charge as it's unfair to pay for what we received. read more

One of the best hotels I've stayed in . After losing everything due to the flood in Livingston parish came to stay here. Very friendly staff and very accommodating . Pet friendly is a plus . Complementary dinner 3 nights a week and full breakfast in the morning . That's a major plus because being without home eating fast food gets old . Love this hotel ! read more

I never heard of Staybridge before and found them searching the internet on my phone while hurtling through Louisianna. I was looking for something cheap and safe for me and my three kids. This was initially more than I wanted to spend for a quick night's stay, but was very pleased with the outcome. Meghan (sp?) at the desk was very courteous and friendly during check in. The hotel was clean everywhere I went. When I walked by the laundry, it was clean and I saw a guy using the machines. The fitness room smelled clean and had sufficient equipment for me to burn some calories. I didn't use the pool, but the families in it seemed to be having a good time. They had an evening social where I had a great salad with tender and tasty chunks of chicken and other salad add-ons, hot (temp) wings, fresh cookies and a nice cold beer. My discerning food-critic-children were very satisfied with the quality of the food. The room was nicely furnished. I wish there were sheets and a blanket for the pullout sofa (there were extra pillows) and I'm sure they would have provided had we called, but it was very late when we found this out and just didn't want to wait. The kitchen supplies were sufficient for our overnight stay. The beds were comfortable. Like most hotels, the office-desk chair was malfunctioning as it sank to the lowest height immediately each time. read more

Do not stay at this hotel, I stay in hotels 4 nights a week and this is a dirty hotel. When I checked in my sheets were stained and the bathroom floor was sticky. Then they charged my credit card $561.00 for a 2 night stay. I would not stay in this place again. read more

Very big rooms with separate bedrooms... Kitchens with all amenities. The cleaning is by request on weekends which is a little goofy. The staff is very helpful but no restaurant just a closet with snacks and microwavable stuff. I was in convention on business. I would have liked room service and some amenities . They will give you a a book with restaurants that deliver. The TV system is old school no pay per view movies. They have internet and they treat you very well and they do try. The room is great for the price ... If you want a full service hotel this is not the place..But if you want a big room with a separate living room and a clear room with a kitchen this is a great place to spend a few days!!! read more

I have been at the hotel now for five days. Not ONE day has housekeeping come into our room to clean or to give us new towels. Each time I have had to go to the front desk and ask for towels. No one came in to restock anything, no dishwasher soap, no shampoo, nothing at all. Ever. Not once in the past five days. In addition, I chose this hotel for a kind of long stay because it said they had a laundry room. Today when needing to wash clothes, I found that both washers are out of order. I went to the front desk and asked them if there were any washing machines that worked. The man at the desk asked me, "What do you want to wash?" (I thought it was strange for him to ask that.) I told him I needed to wash my husband's clothes and he turned to lady who was working with him at the front desk and she said, "The new washers aren't coming in until next week." (That does me no good as I am checking out in two days.) Neither of them apologized or said they were sorry that none of the washers in the laundry room worked. Neither of them offered any type of solution to the problem. (I know that the hotel has it's own washing machines that they use for the bedding.) I was very disappointed in the response because having a laundry room available is one reason I chose to pay more for the "suite" type of hotel rather than a normal hotel room. The breakfast hours say that they close at 9:30 am. When my mother went to breakfast a few minutes before 9am, she was told by the lady who was working the breakfast area that they were closing in a few minutes, and that was why there was little or nothing being offered to eat. When I checked into this hotel, they asked if I wanted to be a member of their rewards club. I agreed, hoping that I would be staying here again since the location is so good. That is really a moot point now. I most definitely will not be staying here again. Five days and no housekeeping or new towels... that is ridiculous. Advertise amenities like a laundry room and then not have it and not being "solution oriented" or apologetic when I told them they were both out of order... not good customer service at all. Paying over $200 a night for a two bedroom suite, I would have expected MUCH BETTER service. read more

I travel a lot for my job and have stayed in more hotels than I can count. I always like staying at a Staybridge when I get a chance. This particular location was very clean and well appointed. It wasn't the most updated one that I've stayed at, but that wasn't a big deal for only one night. The staff was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was hot and tasty, so you can't ask for much more. Great place to stay for a wedding! I stayed here several days earlier this month while I was getting married. The rooms are gigantic and have full kitchenettes in them! The staff was amazing, very professional and accommodating. They upgraded my room to their largest suite, which really helped because I had my entire wedding party, family, and out of town friends there the day before my wedding to help me make bouquets and boutonnieres. I look forward to staying here again next time I'm back in town visiting family. read more

RUN AWAY! Dirty, smelly, tired rooms that are worn down!

We've stayed here three times so far and will continue to do so when we're visiting the area. The hotel itself is easy to get to and has adequate parking, although the spaces are kind of small. The lobby/dining area is really nice and features a double sided fireplace and a nice seating area with chairs and sofas. The dining area is in the rear of that space and has plenty of seating and large windows. We always get a queen kitchen suite and love it! It has a cook top, microwave, sink, dishwasher, apartment size fridge and all the necessities you need to prepare food. There is a Walmart and other grocery shipping within a few blocks for food supplies. The rooms are a nice size, nicely decorated and quite comfy. It really is a studio apartment set up and I love that. Other amenities the hotel has are, a gym, laundry, computer room, book borrowing, WiFi, satellite TV, a nice pool and BBQ patio, small snack store and elevators. We skip the breakfast. This is the star they lost. It doesn't start until 7:30 (problematic for early working folks), the dining staff are surly, they always scorch the eggs, the meat is dry, the fruit is canned and the coffee is terrible. I actually dinged them the star more for the 2 rude staff members. Not a good start to my day at all. The front desk staff and housekeepers more than make up up for the hospitality aspect of this property. They are helpful, sweet, customer service forward and know the area really well. read more

Very clean. Normal tasty hotel breakfast with good coffee. They even have a tasty lite dinner a few nights a week. Rooms are spacious with a nice kitchenette. Lobby has a nice fireplace that opens into the breakfast seating area. The pool is very nice with a waterfall. My only complaint is the shower head. It is to high up to reach so you can regulate the water flow. We would definitely stay here again. read more

When our house didn't close on time and we found ourselves "homeless" for a week, the employees of this hotel made us feel at home and like we were family. I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. Our puppies were welcome also, which was a huge relief. The employees were so accommodating with everything from helping us with faxing documents to the underwriter, as well as making sure they made chocolate chip cookies for my son that weren't on the same plate as the peanut butter ones since he is allergic to peanuts - they made a special batch just for him! Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. If you find yourself in need of an extended stay, please consider staying at the Staybridge Inn & Suites if you're in Covington! read more

Stayed here for almost three weeks while I was on an extended work detail in Louisiana. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The breakfast was ok, could've had a better selection imho. They serve food tue-thurs nights for the managers reception. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again on any future visits. If I had a complaint, it'd be that the parking is a bit cramped if you're driving a full size pickup truck or large suv. read more

My wife and I have stayed here several times and loved it but will never do so again. After the new manager arrived about one and a half to two months ago this place has gone down hill fast! The staff's attitudes have changed from happy love my job, to get away from me I hate my job. Rooms are, staff unhappy and hotel losing business fast. Should be out of business soon. The hotel is filthy. The lobby smells stale. The elevator floors are disgusting. Upon arrival to the room, the kitchen floors were sticky and dirty. There are stains on the carpet and furniture. There is an ominous brown splatter stain on the ceiling directly above the toilet, which really makes me wonder what it is. The housekeeping is abysmal as well. Upon arrival, two of the three beds in the suite were not only unmade, they didnt even have the correct linens on them. We called down and asked for the comforters and sheets for the beds. They brought up thin sheets and said they would come back with the comforters. They never showed back up with the comforters that night. On the second day, housekeeping came and took the used towels from the room and made one of the three beds in the room. Why only one of the three, who knows. It makes no sense... But, when we complained that they hadnt made the beds and that those two beds STILL didnt have comforters, the comforters were finally brought up to the room...at 8pm that night. The next morning, we realized they also hadnt brought new towels to the room to replace the dirty ones they had taken, so that we didnt have a full set of towels in the room that morning. Also, they hadnt replaced the shampoo, soap, etc. The front desk staff, based on their reactions to customer complains, is well aware of the situation. Not only did they not even bother to act surprised by my complaints, they at first attempted to blame me for the room not being cleaned. "Housekeeping has your room marked as" having a do not disturb notification on it. When I asked the young lady behind the front desk, "Well, if they werent supposed to enter the room at all, then why did they make one of the three beds and take the dirty towels?" Thats when she asked to visually inspect my room to see if I was lying. I wasnt. She stated she would notify the manager. She didnt sound overly serious when she said it... I realized how not serious she was about telling anyone when I was listening at the front desk on my third day of my stay to another customer staying at the hotel. This customer was complaining about the EXACT same issues I was having in my room. Her response? "I'll tell the manager." It was pretty hard to take seriously when she didnt even ask the guy for his name or room number, so that proper action could be taken. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

This hotel is horrible. Requested non-smoking room (what crazy hotels still have smoking rooms?? Very antiquated!) but was given a smoking. Once in room, the bathroom floor was sticky and filmy, weird black dried liquid on the back of the bathroom door. The underside of the comforter was COVERED in long brown hairs. Went to "continental breakfast" at 9:30 and the attendant was packing up the food even though the breakfast ends at 10:30. There was smashed food all over the floor. No fruit. Milk machine was empty and attendant refused to refill it. Cereal dispenser broken and wouldn't dispense anything. Eggs were very watery. Moved to a non-smoking room on the second day. Bathroom floor still filmy. Ants covering the air conditioner and window and wall. When I discount for the room was requested, only offered $13 a night. What a joke and slap in the face. Kids running all over the place. Hotel staff refused to calm the, down. Do not stay here. read more

Stayed here for one night while passing through town. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 large dogs. The hotel in general was newer, modern, clean and offered lots of great amenities. The dogs loved the green space available outside. The 1st floor suite we were give was wonderful and very specious. It was located on the corner of the hotel in a quiet area with very little foot traffic. The room had tall ceilings and felt very open. The kitchenette had all the basic necessities; stove, sink, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dishes & cutlery. There was one TV in the living room and another TV in the separate bedroom which allowed us to spread out and relax. The beds were very comfortable and there was no shortage of pillows or blankets. The free breakfast the following morning was delicious and had a wide variety of options. Overall this was a great hotel and I would definitely stay at a Staybridge again. read more
