My fiancé and I came for a few days and I cannot get over our stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Only about 30mins from Nola, across a bridge, which wasn't bad at all. Linda (the owner) gave us a fair&unbeatable price for the Larger poolside suite despite it being Mardi Gras, Valentine's day, as well as it being the weekend when we arrived. Linda was a DOLL! She took care of us, fluffed our room when we were out & reloaded our fridge with breakfast daily. She showed us around the place and welcomed us like family. I truly felt like I was at mom's house. True southern hospitality. We had a few good talks about the history of her house and her life as she once lived in New Orleans. My fiancé enjoyed talking with Linda as New Orleans is where he was born and raised. Despite our talks, Linda does not hover! Which was so appreciated, when you're on a "romantic"vacation. We had our own privacy during our stay as each suite is separate and inaccessible from where Linda stays in her home. We came and went as we please and used the hot tub at night as late as we wanted. We had our own private entrance, which was incredibly nice. The privacy was appreciated as I didn't know what to expect when we first arrived, but I was prepared to be open minded. I think I will always choose a Bed and Breakfast over a lousy hotel in the future. The rooms were grand and clean. The bathroom was nice and the shower as well. Everything was clean. Its just an old house, but I loved the cottage vibes. It was home-y. The town is walkable and cute! A Mardi Gras parade came right through down the street, during our last day there, which was nice. The poolside porch and hot tub made me feel like I was at a resort. The beauty of the home is breathtaking! Romantic cottage vibes! Perfect for couples or even a small girls trip. I will definitely be back to Linda's next year when we visit again for Mardi Gras. Linda has made me never want to stay at a hotel again. read more

My aunt and I went on a road trip along the gulf coast to find her a good place to retire. We stayed at Camellia House in the smallest room, but it was perfect for our purpose and had so much charm. Linda was such a gracious host and a delightful person to chat with. The b&b is located in heart of downtown Covington historic district. Clean and cozy. Featured a wonderful pool partially-shaded by trees with spanish moss blowing in the breeze. The pool had lots of seating on the deck, and our room had a private balcony overlooking the pool. Perfect for hot July in south Louisiana! I loved that the breakfast quiche provided was not only delicious but all ready to go in the room with just a pop in the microwave in the morning so we could eat at our leisure. There was also a fully-stocked drinks fridge and fresh berries and cream. Linda even had the water for the coffee pot all measured out so we didn't have to figure anything out ourselves. For dinner, we ordered Waitr from a local sushi restaurant and ate it on our balcony. We topped it off with one of the delicious cinnamon buns in our room (meant for breakfast) with local ice cream from HooDoo down the street. Camellia House is just a short walk from all downtown Covington has to offer. There's something for everyone. We absolutely LOVED the English Tea Room two blocks away & highly recommend it. Camellia House is the perfect place for a weekend getaway, and it was our favorite place we stayed on our road trip. read more

If you want a lovely and relaxing place to stay then the Camellia House is it! It's so beautiful and clean. It's a very easy walk to delicious restaurants and shopping. Linda was so accommodating and gave tons of great ideas for places to eat and things to do locally. We also loved that she uses Young Living essential oils in the rooms and for cleaning...I'm kind of partial though:) A+ place to stay guys! read more

This is an absolutely lovely bed and breakfast and I am heartbroken to write this review. My husband and I stayed last July 4th and fell in love with the place. We decided to book again this year. The owner quoted us a price, but said she had a 3 day minimum. (We wanted to book 2 nights.) We rearranged work schedules and managed to get off for 3 nights. We called her the following day to say we could do the 3 nights. To our shock, she said it was a four night minimum, but she would do 3 nights, for a higher price!!! Be wary. read more

This B&B is purely amazing. We were greeted with a friendly smile and guided to our king suite by the sweetest lady I've had the pleasure of meeting. The room was beautiful. And it had an on suite separate breakfast area over looking the hot tub and pool. Speaking of the hot tub it was perfect for a December night, and the privacy of this place makes you feel it's just you and your significant other. This is an amazing place. We will return again. We love this place and the owners are so nice. The accommodations are lovely. Very comfortable room with lots of little personal touches. They supply everything for breakfast. Freshen up your coffee service daily as well your supply of clean towels, water bottles, etc. We really enjoyed the hot tub and pool which are both set in their beautiful garden. Magical, Comfortable, Charming This past spring my husband and I traveled to several cities to bike and sight see. One of our stops was the Tammany Trace, which has a trail head in the delightful town of Covington, LA. After much research we decided on the Camellia House Bed and Breakfast. This was absolutely one of the best decisions of our entire trip. Linda was the PERFECT host from start to finish. Her hospitality, kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail were all truly exceptional. It is obvious that Linda loves hosting folks in her beautiful home. She was gracious well beyond our expectations and her sincerity made us feel so welcome and grateful. Even though we did not arrive until about 9:30pm, Linda was there to meet us and show us our room and all the many thoughtful touches included in our stay. The hot tub was on and ready for us, aromatherapy was available, and her famous breakfast was set up and ready for us for the next morning. Linda's home is as beautiful as her hospitality - classic, graceful, full of southern charm and more special touches than I could ever list. When we first came through the back garden gate, we were literally agape. Beauty everywhere in sound and sense. I won't give away all the little things you'll have to see for yourself, but trust me, it's awesome back there. Our room was small, but very very nice with a glorious authenticity only found in older homes. High ceilings, pocket door, wood floors, super comfortable bed and pillows. And Linda really knows how to decorate to bring out the best in her spaces. The converted armoire was particularly amazing. Everything was harmony, grace, and comfort - a lovely extension of her personality and heart for others. All in all, it was perfect for us - a highlight of a pretty special trip and definitely above our expectations. Here is just one of the specific ways Linda went above and beyond as a host: It can be tricky figuring out where to park when you'll be away on your bike for most of the day, and traveling to a different city after your ride means you'll be in your dirty, sweaty biking clothes until you reach your next destination. We were absolutely blown away when Linda not only offered to allow us leave our car outside her place after checkout, but she also let us shower and freshen up after our ride! My husband and I are relatively new transplants to the area and decided to have a night away from the kids. Beyond blessed to have found this little southern charm. We truly enjoyed our stay.
