As Hilton gold members we are used to the Hilton quality in their hotel chain. This hotel did not measure up to our expectations for a Hampton Inn. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming upon arrival. I think managers name is Kim. She was very nice and professional. We were offered one of the new renovated rooms and felt like it was about 90% complete. If I were the owner of this hotel I would not be satisfied with the construction efforts. The workmanship quality is very poor. We stayed in room 314. - The bathroom door did not shut unless you used your shoulder to close the door. - The back of the bathroom door was not painted properly. - The sink cabinet looked worn and already scraped up on the bottom. - The caulking between the tile and the walls was not complete. - Toilet was wobbly. - We did not get maid service. Although we saw the maids on our floor the majority of the day. - The king bed came with only four standard small pillows. We asked for two more and they were provided by a friendly cleaning person. Yet we didn't get serviced?!? - We had no working phone in the room for three days. We did report it on day two and someone came out but it was not fixed and there is not a note left by maintenance. - The TV Guide provided did not match the TV channels. - a/c unit kicked on and off all night although it was set to high fan and not auto. I will start by saying I have never left a review before in my life, I also travel on a weekly basis and always stay in Hilton hotels. THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST DISGUSTING ROOM IVE EVER STAYED IN. We stayed here for a night while traveling to Texas and we had a pretty good time. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and offered bottles of water for me and my two girls. Little things like this go a long way in my book. Hampton Inns are usually my go-to places to stay. The front desk clerk gave us a recommendation for dinner, which turned out to be just ok, totally not her fault. Kim manages the hotel, and is great at the front desk. We were staying at the Hampton Inn to attend a family memorial on a busy north shore weekend in July. One of the out of town attendees is a busy DC lawyer who could stay only one night. When he arrived at his hotel he was told they had no record of a reservation While trying to resolve the issue there, he called us. We asked Kim if she had a room available - she had one left. We reserved it for our friend and picked him up. This situation was a potential disaster. Instead, the problem was quickly solved. PS This was our third stay at this hotel in the past 4 months. I will preface this by saying we didn't get to stay here, but I have a comment on management and customer service. On our way back north after enjoying warmer winter climes, we wanted to visit family in Covington. On Feb 5 I booked a 3-night stay with the front desk beginning Feb 13 after assurances we could cancel with 24 hours' notice. Unfortunately, on Feb 11 we learned our uncle texted positive for COVID-19, whereupon I called the hotel, was again assured 24 hours' notice was all that was needed, and regretfully canceled our stay. Upon arriving home I noticed my card had been charged $149.12, one night's stay, with the earmark "late cancellation." When I called the front desk to request clarification and hopefully grant a refund, it was finally determined that due to Mardi Gras and expected high volume, 14 days' notice of cancellation was required. I explained to the FD person what I had been told, both before I booked arms when I canceled (and that my initial booking was already inside the 14-day window!) but was informed this was above their pay grade abs offered top leave my name and number for the GM, Ashley Vanderhoff, to call me back. After FIVE phone calls AND a direct email message, 8 days later, I have yet to hear back from Ms Vanderhoff. Every time I called, I was greeted comfortably, informed that she was busy, in a meeting or off-site, but that she would return my call. I can even understand the policy, as a Hilton Honors member and former 12- year Hilton employee; what I can't understand is why I was misinformed (twice!), but more importantly, why Ms Vanderhoff has shirked my concerns. If someone is that busy, delegation seems appropriate, especially after the second, third, fourth or fifth messages. Is it because I didn't actually get to stay there that my concern is unimportant? Well, since it seems that I've now paid for a night's stay, I feel this gives me the right to voice my extreme displeasure. read more

It's Definitely Time for Renovation Great location for Our trip and we are Hilton Honors Member. Always satisfied with our past experiences and this national chain. However this location did not meet iur expectations. Too many bugs. Blow dryer a fire hazard. Trash (food bags) in hallway, probably put there by guest. But was there for entire 19 hours of our stay. Breakfast the OJ was water with an orange colored tint. Apple juice was water. Then there was more bugs. I will stop with negative comments although there are more. I've stayed here three times and each time it has been mediocre. The front lobby is updated and the staff is helpful and friendly. Both times I stayed here my room felt damp and had a wet smell to it. The beds are comfortable but the smell was really ruining it for me. This place was nasty. Room smelled so musty and moldy. The carpet was wet. The blanket style comforter was stained. Lamp base was rusted. Sofa dirty. Open the refrigerator and two bottles of beer still inside. The towels were old. The smell was absolutely the worst I have ever smelled. I do not recommend this hotel. This is an awful hotel!! I will never stay here! I booked a reservation for a weeks stay on 3/3 & was told that I could have my guest who was my sister check in for me since I was working late as she was listed as a guest on the reservation. I called twice to confirm and got a Yes for an answer. Well, this morning I received a call from the GM (Blaire) who informed me that Per hotel policy I couldn't have my sister check in for me since the reservation was in my name. This was no problem, she advised me to cancel the reservation w/ no penalty then rebook but in my sisters name. So i proceeded to do that until I seen the price had doubled in less than 24 hrs. I called the hotel to speak to blaire to see if she could assist but instead was told she was gone until Monday & was immediately greeted with nothing but rudeness & disrespect from some named Alicia who stated she was the manager. I told her that she was being rude & disrespectful & should not speak to me that way. She told me, "Sir! We are not going to lose our jobs for you." Then she told me, "she was not being rude & didn't appreciate the lecture." I was very much upset then asked to speak to Blaire the GM but she told me she was the MOD for the entire weekend. I then asked for blaire's contact info including email & Alicia told me, "No!" She then hung up on me. I called back & got hung up on again by Alicia. I called back a third time to get her name and was able to get it from the other desk agent. Needless to say, I got my reservation cancelled with no penalty & will be emailing corporate tonight as well as calling back on Monday to inform the GM of what happened. I will never stay at this Hotel due to this & so glad I cancelled to only take my $400 in revenue to another establishment who knows how to treat customers with respect. read more

Hampton Inn's are cookie cutter hotels and that's why I choose them. It's great to know exactly what to expect in a reasonable price range. Unfortunately, this one had a few minor issues. The first problem was a substandard cleaning job. While the room was mostly clean, on the inside of the bathroom door there was hair stuck to it along with brown stains. On top of that the the room had a funny smell. This was partially made up for by the breakfast which was decent as usual and the friendly and helpful staff. I would probably stay here again if I'm in the area, but I hope they get the maintenance issues straightened out. read more

This hotel needs some major updating. When we first arrived at 3:30pm (check-in is at 3pm) our room wasn't ready. We were given the excuse that the hotel was sold out the night before and that they were short on their housekeeping staff. No apologies. Fine, we went and had an early dinner. Arrived back around 5:30 and our rooms were ready. The lady manning the front desk is in need of some serious customer service training as well. She was rude throughout the entire process. Went to our rooms, the hallways are not air conditioned and were ridiculously hot to walk down. The rooms have an overwhelming musty smell to them and were disgusting. Our carpet smelled like urine and vomit. One of our blankets looked like it had feces stains on it. There was no blowdryer in our room, there was a place for a blowdryer but it was missing. The lamp shades were cracked and dusty. If all of the other hotels hadn't been completely booked then we would have left. The breakfast was average. Fruit is from a frozen bag. Check-out ladies were very friendly. Overall I am extremely disappointed and will absolutely never stay here again. read more

This was the absolute worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. The room had so much humidity in the air the beds were wet and the room smelled like mold. When I complained to the manager, Milton Segues he accused me of lying and demanded to see my dirty clothes to prove they were wet from the condensation. When I asked for the number of the corporate office he said there wasn't one that they were a franchise. So I asked for the name and number of the owner. He got very angry with me for asking and yelled that the owner was taking care of his sick wife who had cancer in Houston. First of all that kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and and inappropriate. Second of all who does this manger think he is by sharing this very private information with a guest. I highly suggest that you find a different place to stay as this Hampton Inn doesn't keep their rooms in working order and they yell at their guests and accuse them of trying to scam the hotel. When my family and I travel we always stay at Hampton Inn but we might start looking for a new a hotel to stay at. This Hampton Inn obviously doesn't subscribe to its own mission statement that if the guest isn't 100% satisfied then they don't expect us to pay. Very sad for the brand. read more

I was disappointed. The room was not cheap ($99 plus taxes etc - single), but I was on the road, had been driving all day, and decided to splurge. The front desk staff was great. The room is ok, but nothing special, although the sheets and pillows were great, the towels were iffy. Plenty of room, but the carpet had seen better days. The bathroom was well appointed but filthy, from the silverfish in the tub, to the mildew... which made me wonder just how clean the rest of the room was. I've stayed in Super 8s, for much less money, with cleaner bathrooms. For me, the most important component of any hotel is the cleanliness, without that basic requirement, all the impressive amenities are worthless. read more

The room was muggy and even after I told and showed them the pictures of the disgusting room they never sent someone to clean it. Not to mention the front desk girl was very rude. We asked for a room away from the elevator. Our room was next to the elevator. We didn't stay because the first room they gave us had black mold behind the wallpaper, a musty smell and a wet bathroom floor. The second room had roaches. And it was several doors away from the elevator. Not happy and checked out. Sad. Hilton can do better than that. read more

As good as it gets in this price range. Clean Rooms, Reasonable Rate, and most importantly a great staff that will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The rooms have mold and are a health hazard to those who stay. I overheard one guest complain about bed bugs to the girl at the front desk during one of my stays. I did not see any bedbugs, but the rooms are very musty and when it rained yesterday, my room flooded. I would not recommend staying at this property. The rooms are excellent with new appliances, micro, fridge and flat screen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When I needed milk to take a medicine at night, the lady at the desk provided it (fat-free, too). The continental breakfast is above the grade. The western omelet, turkey sausage and those waffles you get to make are great. Fruit, cereals, hot and cold, coffee and juices with a nice variety. My wife & travel across the country and this Hampton Inn in Covington, LA, provides top notch accommodations. read more
