Linda (the owner) gave us a fair&unbeatable price for the Larger poolside suite despite it being Mardi Gras, Valentine's day, as well as it being the weekend when we arrived. Linda was a DOLL! She took care of us, fluffed our room when we were out & reloaded our fridge with breakfast daily. She showed us around the place and welcomed us like family. I truly felt like I was at mom's house. True southern hospitality. We had a few good talks about the history of her house and her life as she once lived in New Orleans. My fiancé enjoyed talking with Linda as New Orleans is where he was born and raised. Despite our talks, Linda does not hover! Which was so appreciated, when you're on a "romantic"vacation. We had our own privacy during our stay as each suite is separate and inaccessible from where Linda stays in her home. We came and went as we please and used the hot tub at night as late as we wanted. We had our own private entrance, which was incredibly nice. The privacy was appreciated as I didn't know what to expect when we first arrived, but I was prepared to be open minded. I think I will always choose a Bed and Breakfast over a lousy hotel in the future. The rooms were grand and clean. The bathroom was nice and the shower as well. Everything was clean. Its just an old house, but I loved the cottage vibes. It was home-y. The town is walkable and cute! A Mardi Gras parade came right through down the street, during our last day there, which was nice. The poolside porch and hot tub made me feel like I was at a resort. The beauty of the home is breathtaking! Romantic cottage vibes! Perfect for couples or even a small girls trip. I will definitely be back to Linda's next year when we visit again for Mardi Gras. Linda has made me never want to stay at a hotel again.

The lakefront is lined with beautiful, raised, opulant Creole Cottages and huge trees dripping in spanish moss, it is a beautiful area. Needless to say, we did not opt to pay the additional fee for something that should be included in the price. If they are going to call this a bed and breakfast, guests shouldn't have to pay extra for breakfast. Also, the owners have a child, or possibly children, who made it difficult for us to sleep. This is because we could hear screaming, banging and pounding above us, well after 10:00 P.M. each night. We did not experience peaceful sleep any of the nights we stayed. Finally, even though the binder that the owners put together with guest information states that our room will be tidied up daily, it was only done three of the four days we stayed. They skipped a day for some reason and we weren't informed about it ahead of time. Will not stay or recommend this to anyone.

I checked in online and used the digital key, so I never interacted with the front desk, and I checked out through the app without reviewing my bill. A few days later, I noticed a bar charge that wasn't mine. As a cancer survivor, I don't drink alcohol. I emailed the hotel manager right away to request a credit but received no response. When I contacted the Hilton helpline, they said the manager had confirmed the charge as valid. I pushed back, and about a week later the charge was finally reversed. It was only $17.30, but it was about the principle. Staff should verify names when posting charges to a room. Be sure to review your bill at checkout.
