This was a lovely experience on my most recent visit to Nola, they are located approximately an hr. I was in town for the 50th Anniv Jazz Fest. Once we arrived the owner greeted us and explained everything, told us if we needed anything he lives on the grounds. Our room was very nice and clean, coffee machine outside the door with cream! The house was absolutely gorgeous, its historic and a gem. I walked around taking pics and then enjoyed the balcony overlooking the front yard. They do have rocking chairs for you to enjoy. I loved my room, lots of space, wifi, and the bed was comfy. We had a wonderful view from our room as well. Breakfast was homemade and plentiful, enough choices for all. I had a great experience and would return if in the area. They do have several style rooms you can choose from. I booked room on bookin.com.

I had a delicious lunch today at Butcher and Baker, located inside of the Inn!! I got the summer salad and potato soup, and my friend got the chicken salad on a fresh croissant. Everything was so flavorful and the service was excellent.

A-MAZ-ing window coverings - classic drapes & wall treatments, with added comfort for modern travelers- black out shades.

Very nice inn! We are NOT the B & B types, or the excited-by-Victorian-tchotchkes type either but this place is an exception! Excellent eye for detail and quality. Not only a great quality construction renovation a few years back, but the furnishings, fixtures and equipment are of excellent quality and interest - from the high quality art reproductions and window treatments, to formal Homer Laughlin place settings at breakfast, the inn keepers really have made a place with an eye for "the total experience." If not already betrothed, think about having your big event here! A couple of details I'd change: Again great quality foods at breakfast though could be more varied and the mattress was not as firm as I like. One hint: A bit more dusting/deep cleaning would help keep up the illusion of high style from other centuries.

The mansion is over 100 years old so don't expect it to be brand new, but filled with charm and a wonderful staff. Close to Toula shopping and restaurants, Five star restaurant is maybe 10 minutes away and is superb. Great couple getaway to relax and be on no time lines to help and destress from everyday life . Nice to wake up and talk over coffee on the gorgeous southern balcony. This is our third visit in 5 years and we always book the balcony rooms

This is a beautiful bed and breakfast. We stayed here for Valentine's Day. The property is gorgeous and it's nice to walk around the gardens. Our room was big and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable. There was a balcony that had lovely views over the gardens. They do have a pool and a hot tub to relax in. The morning breakfast was set up in a gorgeous dinning room. And we had the company of a pretty cat while we ate. I would definitely stay here again!

    Isnt it charming?!?

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!! The room was super clean and comfy! Direct tv! The air conditioning worked excellently!! THE GROUNDS WERE B E A U T I F U L!!!!! so beautiful that people even have their weddings there! Which is super charming! We stayed there over Mardi Gras weekend. The drive is fairly easy to New Orleans! I would stay there again next time I go to Louisiana for sure! I stayed in the venician suite and it made me want to go back to Venice! We woke up and had breakfast, which was SUPER delicious & then took a stroll around the land, we took a ton of pictures!! Don't hesitate to book you next stay here! You will NOT regret it!!!

This is my home when in the Hammond/New Orleans/Baton Rouge area. It is a quintessential taste of the south. The beautiful plantation style home with all of its creaky floors and hidden doors and interesting spaces represent elegance and style. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated, spacious and well appointed. There is a common area upstairs with a fridge and coffee set-up. The upstairs balcony is my favorite place to hang out with a glass of wine. The perfect way to end a day. The owners/operators of the Inn are friendly and accommodating. They live on site and are very prompt in their response to any assistance you may need. The grounds are pretty and for the most part, well maintained. There is a beautiful water feature in the front yard that gives this Inn spectacular curb appeal. As hard as is is to say anything negative, in the spirit of full disclosure I will add, it was under minor construction while we were there this time. There was some painting and serious landscape work going on last time. While necessary and only a minor inconvenience, it does in a small way take away from the experience of being there. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. My home away from home.

    So nice

Had a nice stay, with a tasty southern breakfast (grits, bacon, sausage). Worth the drive North from New Orleans

Ask the Community - Historic Michabelle Inn

I am trying to find a Bed and Breakfast place where you cannot hear the train running at night or early morning. Be honest - could you hear it? it looks close by.

I hear the train when I am out side. I live on the property so I am here all of the time. I suggest the Evangeline or Marie Antoinette rooms since they are on the opposite side of the house from the train.

It is located failry close to New Orleans, and we felt like we were staying in Disney's haunted mansion which we loved.

And this location is no different. In mid-September, I had a two week assignment in Hammond, LA. While there were other hotel options that caught my eye, I knew Home2Suites would have what I'm looking for: spotless rooms with a comfortable bed, a mini-kitchen area, great breakfast, large exercise room, and a modern/snazzy lobby area with plenty of space and electronic sockets. That's exactly what you get here. Plus the room also has a large comfortable couch where you can plop down in when you're exhausted. The staff is uber friendly and they cleaned my room every day. I'm hoping I get more assignments in Hammond just so I can stay here again!

The rooms are pretty big and cute, with a mini kitchen (good sized fridge, microwave, sink) and working areas, and the included breakfast here was far far far better than anticipated! On the day I went, you can literally make yourself chicken and waffles! They had Arby's style potato cakes (could be crispier, but splitting hairs) that I prefer much more over those lame breakfast potato cubes, slices of cheese if you wanted to make yourself a sausage and cheese (biscuit) sandwich, cheddar egg bites, and tasty yogurt! And the sauces, Nashville hot sauce, yes please! Also they do have 2 EV charging spots through Blink, which is helpful. Would recommend!

We then noticed there was only 1 person handling complaints, front desk check ins, plus phone calls. After getting 2 rooms. After this wait we noticed we still needed pillow cases. In the second room it was missing a shower curtain. There is a reason this place had vacancy when other places were booked. This place was awful. We will not be back.

However, if you value your safety, I highly recommend you do not stay at La Quinta in Hammond Louisiana. I was greeted by the fresh smell of weed as I arrived. I was immediately grossed out, but wish that's all that happened while I was there. The bathroom, which I'm pretty sure supplied used toiletries, had mold around the bathtub. The curtain was filthy. The fluorescent lights made me feel like I was in a factory. While the surrounding areas had clean cut grass, the hotel itself had at least a foot of grass...possibly to hide the broken glass that was all around ... not to mention, the human feces. We felt very unsafe both because it was quite evident that there were attempted break-ins on all the doors... And then there was the drug deal that happened next door, in the parking lot and the stairwell. That one was fun. The dirty ice machine, and caution tape that had fallen into the dark green pool gave me the feeling of wanting to douse myself in antibacterial solution. We did our best this morning to pack the car up and get our fourteen-year-old out of there- while keeping our eyes down so as not to disrupt any drug dealings. La Quinta, either get yourself together and clean this place up, or add a disclaimer to your business listing at this location so that unsuspecting families don't walk into this death trap.

I stayed one night at Day's Inn in Hammond, Louisiana…read more My first impression was the check-in clerk. Reminded me of a police office I used to work with at a police academy. Felt cold and unwelcoming. My first impression of the room was not good, in fact staying here was a regrettable decision. I only stayed here because of the reviews I read and because I am a Wyndham member. When I opened the door, the room reeked of a stale swamp mixed with cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room. I choose not smoking rooms because I expect a cleaner environment and air. Smoke and allergens can trigger asthma in some people. Further into the room and near the sink area, it smelled like stinky socks or dirty underwear. Everything stinks in this room, even the bedding has a distinct smell of smoke, which makes me wonder if the cleaning person smokes. I opened the front door to the outside despite the humidity. Three hours to try and air the room, but it didn't work. I made sure to take my allergy medicine because the air in the room was making me cough. I woke up several times due to the bad air in the room, finally around 5 AM I turned off the air conditioner and that seemed to help. I could hear large amounts of water in the air conditioner swishing around as it turned off, which tells me, the mildew and mold swamp smell probably comes from it, especially since its not the kind of air conditioner with a drain on the back to get rid of the water. The carpet smells like mildew or mold too. I never took my socks off while in this room, except to shower. When I first entered the room, I began turning on the lights so I could take photos and when I walked into the sink area began to slip and fall because the tile was slippery and wet for some reason. I had to take a bath towel and wipe the floor dry. Can't think of a reason why a room floor that should of been cleaned five hours before I arrived would be slippery. The mini-refrigerator didn't seem to work. I checked its temperature setting and it was dialed to its coldest setting, but it wasn't cold, so I kept my food and medicine in my ice chest. This room had a table and chair which I cleaned the top of to work from, I couldn't trust my health to a dirty table, considering how poorly cleaned the rest of the room appeared to be. The rest room was probably the cleanest area, but I didn't feel like eating or working from the toilet. It had a small sofa couch and table. Normally, I'd sit on a sofa chair like this to do my work, but again, of all the motels and hotels I have stayed in, it just didn't feel like I should risk it. since they can't even manage the very minimal basic cleaning standards of a room. The TV worked but when I tried to power it off, the remote power button didn't work. I had to unplug the TV. When I plugged the TV back in, it turned on. I couldn't locate any manual buttons on the actual tv. Selecting a channel was dis-ambiguous and it had only a few channels. The Air Conditioner is cold enough, but due to the horrid smells of this room, I checked its filters and they were really dirty and hadn't been cleaned, so I cleaned the air filters to help reduce respiratory issues. The bedding smelled like cigarette smoke. The bed was squishy and lumpy like a worn out pillow, and the little square pillows were to firm. I woke up with a sore neck. Considering I have to drive 10 or more hours leaving here, its less than desirable. I woke up multiple times during the night. In all sincerity, I would have had a more comfortable nights rest if I had slept in my Honda Element at a truck stop for free and still would of had free internet and shower. The windows couldn't be opened, or I'd have cracked them open to air the room over night. I took photos which show the amenities if you really think you want to stay here. In my other reviews I discuss the amenities in detail, but I disliked this stay so much, I don't want to bother. As I am writing this review, I just heard, "Police! Open up" outside at a near-by room.
