This hotel has been overlooked by many including myself until now. Needed a quick find and decided to try Staybridge. I did not expect to stumble on this gem of place. Everything was ordinary until you open the door to your room. It was an extremely spacious suite with a work area along side the living room that had a fairly good size TV. I normally don't sit on the couch but it was so inviting so I gave it a try. I didn't get up for a good hour. And it wasn't because I was tired. The kitchen has everything you could need. Whether it's regular or decaf coffee. All the utensils and pots and pans are there. It's always nice to be an able to cook a meal instead of constantly having to run out for food. The shower and bed are the two most important factors when you staying somewhere. Neither disappointed. The bed was absolutely perfect. They made it extremely hard to get out of bed. They have an indoor pool but unfortunately I didn't bring swim wear. They have an area where you can sit outside with an adult beverage. It was just nice to go out in the warm weather and relax. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. The upside is that breakfast was free. And they didn't disappoint. I have stayed in countless hotels due to my career and the Staybridge I would put close up to the top. Breakfast you had many things to choose from. Eggs, sausages, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, coffee cake and pastries, cereals and snack bars. Different types of coffee as well. I would highly recommend staying at the Staybridge suite hotel. Staybridge Suites in Canton, Ohio provided us an absolutely fabulous 5-night stay with its large comfortable king bed, lovely sitting area, sizeable mini-kitchen and great complimentary hot breakfast. My wife was please with all the little extras and I was thrilled it felt more like a studio apartment than a cramped hotel room. The A/C was fantastic and there were a good selection of TV channels as well, even though we basically fell asleep instantly each night we returned to the hotel from a full day of activities. Mornings greeted us with a different meal item each day which was really nice. The apple and orange juice (I like to mix together) were exceptionally delicious and came out of the dispenser ice cold! I LOVED THAT!!! I also loved the openness and brightness of the 2-story dining room. But one of THEE BEST features of this hotel is its LOCATION!!! Restaurants & shopping galore are just a stones throw away. It also is within a few minutes drive of the Pro Football HALL OF FAME, which seems to be the main draw for the area. We were here mainly in support of a friend, but did manage to visit a few local gems such as Lanterman's Mill in Youngstown, Brandywine Falls near Cleveland and experienced First Friday in Canton, a monthly celebration of food, fun and live entertainment. FINAL THOUGHTS Staybridge Suites in Canton Ohio checked all of our most important boxes when choosing basic accommodations and then some! But if I do have a complaint, it would be of the glass shower door and how it opens into the shower instead of out. It would make better sense to replace it with a barn-style door. We came to visit one of my best friends and her family and so happy we chose this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious with the extra living space and kitchenette. It had all the basic dishware, paper towels, small dish soap, and full size refrigerator. The bathroom sink had Dove soap & lotion bottles and the shower had soap, shampoo & conditioner bottles. We enjoyed the breakfast area downstairs every morning with a good assortment of options, including gluten free bread. It was a nice way to start our morning every day. The staff was very friendly and even gave me a few disinfectant wipes upon request to wipe down a couple little spots that may have gotten over looked or not cleaned enough, which I was ok wiping off. That and just a couple little things on the floor that the vacuum I guess couldn't reach and they didn't notice. They probably could do a little better looking over the rooms again making sure they didn't miss anything, but over all it was a GREAT stay, and we will definitely consider this hotel for future visits. read more

Prior to coming here I did read the other comments on this hotel and it was mixed, so i was cautious... but i cannot say enough good things about the hotel and staff... the room and kitchenette was large and it is pet friendly, my only downside was room location next to a busy street ( so if you come here get a backside room) . Wonderful location next to stores/restaurants and gas stations. And only minutes from the football hall of fame. We are all ready planning to stay here on our next Canton trip. read more

Usually we have a great stay, but this past one was terrible. Room was dirty and did not have dishes or laundry basket. Guests near us were very loud and staff did nothing about it. Lawn area for dogs was full of dog poop. Could not do laundry because people left their laundry in machines. Will be staying else where on our next trip to the area. read more

Well it seems the longer I stay here the worse it gets. The bathroom and sink are emitting a raw sewage odor. To try to combat this, we have to leave the fan in the bathroom on. Found another milipede in the shower yesterday. I also thought this hotel had a "no party" policy, but I suppose that depends on who you are. For the past two evenings a large group of people have commandeered the patio. They are grilling food and playing games. To add insult to injury they have gathered all of the patio furniture to one side and are occupying every available table and chairs for themselves. When I asked the manager about it, he said it was just a gathering. He also informed me that it was a common area for everyone to use. I told him it looks like a party and there seemed to be a double standard as to what management feels constitutes a party. When I asked him how could everyone use the patio if all the tables and chairs were occupied by one group, he continued to make excuses. At that point I just had to walk away after telling him to just say he didn't care. This will absolutely be my last stay here. I only wish we could leave sooner. read more

Hotel or Kennel ? Our attempt to stay at this Hotel and avoiding the Kennel aspect of the hotel was a disaster. We ended up having to stay at a competing brand hotel - we just could not do it at the Staybridge suites Canton Ohio. Also, never in my 35 years of traveling to Canton Ohio have I had a more disappointing encounter with a hotel's front desk clerk nor response from a hotel Manager. Never. We have stayed in this hotel several times over the past couple years. 5-8? It is a newer hotel and allows dogs, Pet Firendly is how I think they like to say it. Dogs Bark and Dogs bring odor. If you love traveling with your dog - great. If you do not particualrrly like the musty smell of a dog or the smell of the cleaners to clean up after a dog or the persistant barking of a dog left in a room - then not so great great. We have noticed over time the rooms have become more kennel smelling than what you would hope for in a growingly expensive hotel. To that end , we noticed the dog barking issues and smells are stronger on the lower floors as Im guessing people with pets want access to the outside to take their dogs out. SO we ask for a higher floor when we stay at this hotel. Our first experiences were not so good on the lower floors but found the smell and noise were correted by staying on a higher floor. Our higher floor request has never been an issue and always extended to us. ALWAYS an easy fix. Until last night. Last night the front desk clerk was surprisingly not only unreceptive to our request, but absolutely 'in your face rude', tremendously escalating a seemingly simply request by informing us she would call the police if pressed anymore for a our room to be changed to a higher floor. Unreal. She literally gave us the choice of staying where she assigned us a room or cancelling. When I asked to talk to the manager, as most people would have, she did her best to shut that request down. She said there was not a manager on duty to talk to. When I said I didn't believe that and pressed again to speak to a manager - she finally gave in and called someone only to come back with "you can cancel your reservation if you want but we are NOT going to change your room and ALL rooms are used for dogs so the same dog smell would be in them all." Interesting response.....because I actually agree with her on that. We DID notice the upper floor room we had last month had a weird musty dirty dog smell to it that we thought was only on the lower level floors. It was a definate DOG room. If you have pet allergies or are just don't love the smell/sound of some elses dog as you travel - this is not the hotel for you. The WONDERFUL reviews coming through on Google reviews ought to be required to put whether they are posted by a Dog Traveler. I think that might skew the reviews more than just a bit. We have multiple stays at this hotel and have watched the hotel decline. To the point, not having rooms available specifically for the dog traveler has tainted the entire hotel. Rude front desk clerks ar just part of traveling to some locations - reflects managements focus on their clients. ODD that management in the hospitality industry would allow such a simple request to become a major issue. If you travel to Canton JUST know - this it is becoming more of a Kennel than what you might want in a Hotel AND if you get the wrong person at the front desk like we got, with a disappointing hotel manager that digs in ther heels for absolutely NO reason to back her up - you just might want to look somewhere else. This is a solid hotel, complete with a well appointed kitchenette and convenient amenities. Our two-bedroom suite was clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk was a bit snippy with the guests, but I imagine that might be partly due to the fact that she appeared to have been on duty for literally 48 straight hours. This review is really a 4.5 but I am inclined to round down because our bedsheets had "KKK" scribbled on the tag but were somehow still in circulation. read more

Went on a business trip w/ my husband and 12 month old baby. When we first came in we noticed how dirty the floors were. We weren't able to get any housekeepers to come clean because of Covid? so i cleaned with my bare hands and paper towels so my child wouldn't walk around in dirty floors. The rug was filthy, had to pick up bunch of little things that could have caused my child to choke. There were staples on the ground, everything was dusty as well. I cleaned as best as I could with barely any cleaning supplies, I pretty much just had disinfectant wipes. I went to the bathroom and ran the water and there's a bunch of nasty black crumbs on the tub? So I cleaned that and the toilet as well. I checked the beds and there was old blood stains on the comforter to one of the beds. I complained to an older white lady named Eva in the front desk and she said word for word "oh no, that's horrible. You're not supposed to be able to see that" I mean what?! How about just not have dirty sheets? After a long stressful night we went to sleep and idk why I didn't think to check underneath the sheets but when I did there were I don't know how old piss stains. You would think with Covid being around that this hotel would take cleaning more seriously. Later my baby started to develop vomiting and diarrhea, my husband drove us home so we could take him to the doctor and found out it was a stomach virus. It could have very much been because of the lack of cleanliness. I later on developed symptoms too and so did my husband. Overall DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL! Horrible horrible. SO disappointed. No one wears masks, they have social hours and free breakfast but everyone touches everything and cooks don't wear masks and nothing is clean. I came here thinking it was going to be a great experience, I stayed at other staybridge hotels and they were nothing like this. Save your money! Oh, I also forgot to mention. There were blood stains on the ceiling? Like did someone get murdered in there or something? The dishes were dirty and when I called to complain about the piss stains on the sheets the front desk said that the manager would come up give us some sheets and talk to us and he never came up and the bed was still just stripped with no sheets for days. read more

The room we were in was absolutely disgusting. As well as the pool area. There were clumps of hair around the pool and in the hot tub. In the room the dishes said they were clean, but when you looked they were covered in food. Also above the one bed appeared to be a booger ceiling with bloody boogers stuck to the ceiling. It was appalling. The fold out mattress had multiple different colors of staining. The outlet covers by the shower were cut to fit and had missing caulk exposing the switches to water. The floors were gross and turned socks colors in minutes. All chairs and couches were covered in stains. The room was set up nice, but absolutely no cleaning has been done. I would not recommend staying here at all especially for the cost of the room. read more

Stopped here on a road trip to the NFL Hall of Fame. The staff here was pretty amazing. Very friendly and personable. Upon check in we were informed they would be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers. I was a little surprised by this and enjoyed the surprise savings! The room was comfortable and clean. No issues with the room or staff. The pool area was located indoors but inside its own building at this location. My only complaint was the chlorine in the hot tub was insanely strong. The fumes burned my eyes and made them water. It gave my son a small rash as well. I think they got the measurements wrong on the amount or something because it was terrible. My rating reflects how great the staff and room was. read more

Staybridge Canton was an ok stay. I've stayed in some far worse places before, but unfortunately I've stayed in some better ones too. On paper, Staybridge should be a great hotel for the price, especially if you're traveling with a family or need a place to hold up for an extended stay. It's the lack of attention to detail that made this stay somewhat "meh": Pros: -Friendly, nice staff -Free daily newspaper -Near restaurants, Pro Fb HOF, and other attractions -Lobby, breakfast area, sitting/reading area updated -comfortable beds Cons: -small pool that is excessively chlorinated -pool is packed in the afternoon and evenings -2Br suite is smaller than most -kitchen lacks basics: probably couldn't cook a full meal in it. -was understaffed the weekend we stayed -no after hours staff -dirty floors in the elevators and in our room -breakfast was basic, with undercooked eggs and sausage, one of the waffle makers broke. -walls are paper thin; heard all conversations from all our neighbors. Bottom line: I don't think our 2 br suite was worth the cost, but if you bring earplugs, you will probably have a decent place to rest your head for a couple of nights. There was a dead fly on the bed and blood spots all over the sheets, pillow cases, and blankets. Not a great experience. Rooms are OK and clean but they have a really weird air conditioning and heating system. There's no way to turn it on or off you only adjust the temperature so either the AC or the heat is on at all times depending on what number you're trying to get to. You have to request room cleaning! Really a $200 a night that's not automatically included? The staff is pretty much completely out to lunch. They're more concerned with looking at their phones and talking to each other than they already paying attention to guests. Worst of all was the breakfast. The building in the rooms are nice but the property is located adjacent to Railroad tracks and the sound of the trains working at night was loud enough to wake me up. Bigger problem was that we were here during a football tournament. The hotel was full of children and this was a big problem for the management. On several occasions, I overheard the assistant manager being very aggressive and rude with both my children and others. Ultimately children were not allowed to be anywhere on the property without being accompanied by an adult. All of the amenities were closed down with an out of order sign so we could not use the pool, the business center or even the soda machine. read more

Stayed here while visiting family near Canton for a couple nights. We stayed in a king suite with a separate bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living area. The suite was nice and we felt that it was an exceptional value for a family traveling. We didn't have an opportunity to use the kitchen but if we were staying longer it would have been a welcome amenity. The lobby, elevators, and common area were all very clean and the staff was very courteous. The only negative is one of the guest had left a towel outside of their door in the hall way, but the cleaning staff picked it up the next day. I would rate the breakfast above average for continental style bar and the eggs actually appeared to be real! We would definitely stay again if traveling with one or both of the kids. read more

My family stayed here to visit the NFL Hall of Fame. The room and entire hotel was clean and the employees were absolutely amazing. The breakfast in the morning is fairly typical, but still nice. It was the extra perks that really impressed my husband and I. Free coffee and soft drinks-24/7, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday they have a social with a small dinner for guests.... for free! Never would I ever have given this place a one the day before today...were a military family that comes home after every deployment and after the first time we stated they have been nothing be helpful with our stay every time. Until I'm assuming this new management started. We always stay in belden because it's in the middle of our family and after a 24 hour flight or a 13 hour drive we never have to worry about breaking rules because they make us feel welcome and people come and go so we don't have to travel around to see everyone. BUT all of a sudden getting to sit around the pool and hang out with my nieces and nephews and see the growth in my family is not even a thing. ALTHOUGH I was told by the lady at the front desk because we always respectively ask and as expected she told us yes. So we proceeded to continue with what we presumed to be the relief we need. INSTEAD, "due to new management" I was told by Ashley on the phone that they don't permit it like the prior extremely nice and respectful staff. We've never been messy or had any type of issue. No one stopped over super late at night, latest we a few ppl stopping after work around 7/8. They even lit the fires outside for us so we could stay warm and enjoy our company. I absolutely will not every stay at this one nor any other or recommend any of our fellow members that come home back to this area. Who ever the general manager is now and allows their guest to be treated as we just were and now my family should be ashamed. Least they could have done is make sure the receptionist are trained and know the hotel before they pick up or tell them they don't know and they'll find someone that can further assist me to get the question that I asked answered. I'm so disappointed in this place. I used to LOVE the love I felt here and clearly that's gone. read more

While beautiful at first glance a strong look proves otherwise! Urine at the base of the toilet in our suite, mold in the pool and hot tub area, a pool that was not heated at all, and a fridge that had mold around the seal of the door. Housekeeping doesn't not come to your room on the weekends. They only "light touch" Mon-Fri. Asked for towels since there was not enough in our suite and was told there would be an hour and a half wait. Breakfast buffet was fine but if their rooms were the way they were I was hesitate to eat there. I and my husband had stayed 2 weeks here during the (pool(billiards)tournament) and the staff and general manager Ryan were awesome. The rooms that we stayed in were clean and comfy. We frequently occupied the patio area where we met a lot of nice people. We cooked and played music. The meals that were provided were tasty. They also at times baked cookies in the evening. We left after two weeks and then decided to come back another week. We enjoyed ourselves. I'd stay there again when needed. Bryson(front desk clerk) was very friendly and helpful. Even if he was having a challenging day, he did not take it out on the guests. Again, we met a lot of nice people that we would call family. The general manager Ryan was the best. Do not stay here. Did you think it was impossible to mess up those standard hotel remade breakfasts? You're wrong. Sausages sitting in a pool of grease . The waffle machines broken. No forks (and serious attitude when you asked for one). None of the usual additions like yogurt or bagels. The air conditioning in the room so loud that sleep was next to impossible. At check in, we were the only ones standing there with to people behind the desk. It was an uncomfortable period of time before they bothered to look up. Very little convenient parking. Seriously, don't stay here. I gave it two instead of one stars because at least we weren't mugged. read more

Stayed only one night, thankfully. When we arrived in our room, it was apparent that the A/C unit needed servicing as it sounded the an 18 wheel truck idling in the corner of our room. The front desk was alerted, no one ever came to address. We went to the pool after a sparce breakfast "buffet" only to find no towels available. My husband went to the front desk to ask for towels to be brought to the pool for the 7 children that were there. He was told they would come "within an hour." The absurdity of that statement aside, 30 mi later when no towels came, he had to go back to our room to get the bath towels to use to get dry from the pool. We left the pool 20 min later, still no towels. We then left the pool, and asked the front desk for bath towel to replace the ones we just used so we could shower. I was told by the front desk "an hour." I said that was not acceptable and asked for manager. She did not was to come out until I demanded. She then stated they would "bring them right up." 20 min later no towels. At that point I, on crutches, had to wander the halls to find housekeeping staff just to get towels. Derive is completely unacceptable given that they charged nearly $400 for the night. If you want to be a $400 a night hotel, provide some service and act like it read more

These numb skulls were not even at the desk when I try to check in. I was there 15 minutes. Supposedly somebody was helping another customer somewhere else. But there needs to be at least one or two people in the area to help guest checking in. This is unexcusable. And this is something that the manager need to take care of. Whoever was supposed to staff the front desk on Sunday, December 13, dropped the ball. Have a serious talk with that employee. You never leave your desk for more than five minutes. Maybe you should check to see what your employees are doing at all times. I'm sure you have cameras out there. To leave customers that are trying to check in for more than 15 minutes is unexcusable. Manager get on this. You will lose service at this nice hotel. read more

I consider myself fortunate if I have clean, safe and updated accommodations when traveling for business. When I found this place, it was (almost) like winning the hotel room lottery. First of all, it's brand new, so everything looks sparkling clean -- no stained carpet, no nicked paint, everything electrical actually in working order! Second, the staff was either thrilled to have jobs, or they were well trained, because they actually seemed to care. I felt like a valued guest --a nice change in this day when hospitality doesn't mean what it used to. The front desk staff was knowledgeable and friendly, with recommendations for local attractions and restaurants, and even a great little spa down the street for a deep tissue massage. Hope this place has a vacancy next time I'm in town for business. read more
