Everyone at Stay takes care of Snuffles really well, as he can be a bit scaredy with new people. But he was warmed to those who have been there a while the past few years. The suites give him much needed space, and the built-in daycare is great so he can interact with the small dog groups when he chooses to. We also like the webcams for both the daycare and boarding suites to we can check up on him when we're away. This is our 3rd rescue pooch we've boarded there since we started in 2007!! We boarded our senior Great Dane for seven nights at Stay. We were very worried as he has some issues due to arthritis in his hips. We started receiving report cards for our dog immediately, and it was clear that he was being treated like royalty. The staff are so caring and helpful and this is a really great family business, it's hard to understate how amazing the staff are. Daycare is something our dog looks forward to and she has a best buddy who matches her energy perfectly. It doesn't seem like anyone has recently written about Stay's new Grooming Price changes, so as a consumer and fellow pet owner, I will share. As background, I've been taking my dog to Stay for 5+ years and for the most part have been happy with the cuts for my airedale terrier. Obviously, some groomers are better than others, but it's been good enough to keep me coming back. The facility is really big and clean, and they've always followed my instructions fairly well. We've even done daycare a couple of times. I started noticing things were off earlier this year (January 2022) when I took my dog there for her normal cut -- the same one she's gotten for 5 years now -- and the groomer shaved her without calling me as a courtesy first. She said something about her being matted and uncooperative, so I just figured okay, fine, I guess she was having an off day. For what it's worth, I didn't think she was any more matted than normal -- she's an airedale terrier with a naturally wiry coat -- and she's never gotten complaints about her temperament before from any other groomer or caregiver. I got the impression this particular groomer was frustrated with the experience, but I was surprised since 1) Your job is to cut dogs' hair and all that comes with it and 2) I would have expected at the very least get a courtesy call before a full shave. She didn't even come out and give me any details, just sent the front desk person out with my dog to pass along the message that "She was being finicky, so we had to shave her completely." Also, it cost $17 more than usual, which seemed weird since shaving a dog requires a lot less effort than her usual finessing. But I have bigger concerns than my dog getting a bad haircut, so I just chalked it up to an isolated event. The time after that, the price went up $5. Alright, whatever -- I'm not going to begrudge them for inflation. But the next time I went, the price had gone up a full $30 even though I had just been there 6 weeks before ... well within the recommendation for an airedale. So by now, I'm getting the sense something is going on that's reflective of a larger business approach/culture shift at Stay. Sure enough, in August, I received an email outlining new charges for grooming. I've always thought there was no rhyme or reason for what they charge, and now they've made that policy official. In that email, they stated: "There is no set price for any breed, size, or weight as it will be set based on your dog's specific needs. Factors that contribute to the price are: Breed, Size, Age, and Weight The length of time in between their last grooming session If the coat is maintained (Frequent brushing) Temperament of the dog during their groom There is a starting price, as stated on our website, but that can change depending on your dog." So your large dog's cut could cost $80, or it could cost $120. Yet, there is no transparency on the specifics that will trigger surcharges. What breeds are more? What are the "weight classes" for dogs? How on earth would they know how frequently I brush my animal? And the last one is pretty laughable -- a charge with no clear criteria for implementing it (just based on the groomer's feelings) where the other party can't even defend themselves against such accusations. I can only guess they have more business than they know what to do with, which is why they've changed their pricing structure like this. They have the right to conduct their business however they want, and I have the opportunity to check out new neighborhood places where I feel the policies are more transparent and reasonable. read more

Watch out for hidden fees and rude, ill trained management. Your confirmed reservation check out time is NOT actually the check out time. I noticed a "late check out fee" on my receipt when I got home and called to ask about it. I was told the time listed on my reservation was not my check out time or reservation end time, see confirmation below. (Strange right?) The fee was nominal so I normally wouldn't be writing this review. When I called to ask about it I said they should change it and the person I spoke with said they'd share it with the manager. I thought it would make more sense if shared it. Rather than being responsive and understanding, Jake the manager, called back defensive, flippant and condescending. He went into an analogy about a hotel reservation and check out times that actually fortified my point and then told me he could take off the fee and charge me more?!? They need a serious lesson in how to talk to people. I've got 3 trips coming up in the next 6 months for a total of 30 days. His lack of training and professionalism cost them more than $20 that caused the situation. read more

Typical Day: Three days a week I worked as a receptionist. Responsibilities included counting the drawer, checking clients in and out, answering phone calls, responding to emails in a timely manor, check on the dogs in suites if needed and fill water bowls for them. Updating and fixing vaccine information on all dogs with upcoming reservations, setting up new clients with tours, completing the tours and adding any icons needed. I also helped with shoveling/salting during the cold months as not one person in the building would shovel more than once a day, if they even did that. Keeping the front desk/lobby clean, organized and restocked with product to sell. - One day a week I worked in the kennel. The responsibilities included loading/unloading potty breaks/play groups, mess checks, extra services list, clean/change mop buckets, solo list, pick up bowls/blankets, wash dishes. After group is over its pretty much a repeat of the morning. Sometimes I would break the puppy/small dog group attendant for 30 minutes. Helping gather information for report cards such as their feeding and any other notes on how they are doing. What I Learned: Vaccine information and how to read vet documents. I learned a system/program called Ginger. - I gained more knowledge in customer service through interactions. - How to handle more dogs and doss much bigger in size. - Most importantly I learned no matter where you work, if management is unorganized the team will never be motivated. Management: Hires people at the interview -Interview questions are extremely easy - POOR TO NO TRAINING! (Even if they promise that you will get some) - Extremely unorganized - Lack communication with each other and the staff - They play favoritism - Have the opposite of a growth mindset -Will get rid of anyone with a negative attitude that works hard. But if you are lazy and have a bad attitude they will leave you alone and let you work there for sometime. - They overwork the staff and then act like they don't, or are "confused" when people aren't happy. - Management overfills the facility constantly due to ownership. - They will not try to problem solve if employees have bad attitudes due to poor working conditions. Culture: Fun at first! Had a blast my first few shifts and by the time November hit I started to notice something wasn't right. After Christmas the staff was WIPED OUT and there were quit a few who quit. The the culture the past few months turned into lazy coworkers minus the few that do work hard. - It is LOUD in the back kennel or in upstairs daycare. It is a hazardous job due to them almost always going over capacity. Play groups are too large and understaffed. Constantly only 1 person with 20+ dogs in one group. During peak holidays they will have 50+ dogs in one group with two people. There aren't any real "laws" about it, but there are suggestions to have 2 people if 15+ dogs are in the same group, especially when they are big dogs! If you want to work as a daycare attendant here just think how difficult it would be to do that for about 6 hours alone with one 30 minute break, every single shift. Hardest Part: -Their VIPs run their business. Having some person scream at me on the phone or throw a temper tantrum because I said no as they literally don't have a reservation and we do not have kennel space for their dog after daycare. Or maybe it was a solo dog and I didn't want this person paying $55 for their dog to get taken outside for 10 minute twice a day. But the clients don't understand what a capacity limit is because the business has never had a set standard limit. They let clients show up almost whenever, before and after business hours. With no penalty to the client and no bonus for employees who had been there for 12+ hours. -Dealing with call offs or being called on my day(s) off to help with their understaffing issues. Not being allowed time off due to not enough staff members. Staff time off is ALWAYS by favoritism if multiple people request off at the same time no matter what the GM tells you. - The "mop sink" is well off the floor and I almost broke my back multiple times dumping nasty water into it. System that adds chemicals to water and into the bucket is not right. The whole sink area is worse than what I've seen in kitchens. -The dryer breaks down every single week. I was literally told by a manger to HAND SPIN the dryer to get it started. Best Part:-The dogs of course! The dogs there have some horrible manners honestly, but there are some that can just melt your heart in a second. They are the reason I worked there as long as I did. There were a few coworkers there that are very hard working and good overall people that made working there more tolerable. Reasons to not come here: Extreme lack of care for employees and dogs, VIPs run the business, managers play favoritism, no structure for new employees coming in, no real concern for building, people or dog safety. This is a very difficult review to write, because there is so much I really like about Stay. Their staff is very attentive and caring of dogs, and they have been extremely accommodating. They often give feedback on your dogs visit, so you know they are in safe hands. In return, I want to discuss what I am unhappy with. I purchased a $600 20 (3 free) visit package as a deal, with anticipation to take advantage of all the wonderful amenities and staff at Stay. After about 2 weeks, I had the unfortunate turn of no longer having my dog. Within a 30 day window from initial purchase, I had reached out to Stay to request if I could get a refund for my package, as I no longer had any way shape or form of using it, only to be turned away. When I had tried calling back again to get a conversation with management, I was left to leave a message and was told I would get a call back. Instead of getting a call back, I got an email mentioning I could not receive my refund, but can use it anytime in the future. I feel with my response within a 30 day window, and the fact I have no way to use the services, that they could do right by their customer and provide me the refund. read more

Several reviews here mention hidden fees, ridiculous polices, and even a person who lost their pet and couldn't get any sympathy! The business clearly has no concern for their reputation, or customer retention, or assumedly your pets--STAY AWAY! I've now had multiple experiences where they have literally conned me with additional fee's, charged for two rooms instead of one, and refuse to have any flexibility. Our dog Skyler likes this place. He has fun boarding and getting to play in the play groups. Staff is friendly. It seems clean. It is a nice set up as the rooms are larger than crates and your dog has ample room to move around, even in the standard rooms. My only criticism is that the web cams are sometimes not working or they are glitchy. It is a treat to get a peek at your dog when your dog is boarding. Only the suites have in room web cams, but the play rooms have web cams too so you can sometimes watch your dog play. read more

Terrible experience, careless and unorganized staff. Since they didn't check my dogs vaccination records before I dropped him off, they were planing on crating him all day (which I could have done at home!) They do not check vaccination records in a timely manner, allowing potentially unvaccinated dogs to come to their facility. Once I scrambled to get things figured out with them, which caused me to be late for work, they let my puppy join the other dogs in daycare. The manager threw the front desk kid under the bus instead of handling like a professional. I felt like I I was dealing with stoned high schoolers. Won't be taking my dog there again. Had to rewrite my review. At first glance everything looked excellent, but within a couple of weeks Teddy's hair looked long again. His usual grooming in Florida lasts for about six weeks before he starts looking fluffy and over grown. This only held up for a couple of weeks and before a month was up we had to take him to another groomer. Even his toe nails needed a redo as they were curling and bending out of shape. Pet parents beware!! Very deceptive business practices, one might even call it a "bait and switch." They allow you to book and confirm a "suite" only to tell you when you arrive that they only have one available the following day. Then after you leave town and call them to confirm your dog is finally in a suite, they blanketly apologize for the confusion, (which is obviously something they have grown accustomed to saying, considering the robot like manor in which I was spoken to, while clearly upset), then tell you your beloved family member will be in one of their lower grade kennels without a webcam. How convenient. Furthermore, I paid extra for "one on one cuddle time before bed." If daycare is from 9-2, how is my dogs "one on one" cuddle time being clocked in at noon, and how is that considered before bed, conveniently by the same Katie who lied to me upon arrival. This place is amazing because of their staff...I boarded my babies here for the first time for an extended stay. I did a lot of research and personally visited a few times before committing. I spoke extensively with Ashley and Rose and possibly drove them a little crazy with my over worry-like questions lol. My major concern was the one of my dogs has special needs and the other has separation anxiety, I can say that both Rose and Ashley contributed to helping ease my worry and concern. While their extended stay I had a family member stay in touch with updates and I was also able to communicate with the staff via email and I received prompt responses which was very comforting. The ability to monitor via webcams is fantastic and all calls with updates in a prompt and friendly manner is so important and very much appreciated . The staff is super dog friendly and lovable towards the dogs understanding that is can be a big change for them and their pet parents. I also want to take a moment to acknowledge Alex who I learned from my sister would help care for and even carried my princess understanding her needs...thank you ! All of the staff were so friendly. My dog was so happy when he came out which is very reassuring, I have not had the same experience at others places. We love Stay! They're pretty new, but what an amazing place for doggie day care. We've taken our Sheltie there several times to spend a Saturday afternoon playing with other dogs, and he always has a great time. They've got webcams in the play room, so you can watch your pooch from home. Haven't tried the overnight boarding yet, but I'm sure it's amazing. We're planning on putting our dog up in one of their "luxury" suites for the night of our wedding. We also have had our Sheltie groomed there, and they did an incredible job. Grooming Shelties can be tricky, and we haven't been too impressed with some of the other groomers in the city, but the groomer at Stay did a great job. Highly recommended. Their prices are more than fair, and I think you get a great value for your dollar. The staff is very very friendly and clearly they all love dogs. I've been taking Lainie, my Golden Doodle, to Stay for over 8 years. The staff (which has remarkably low turnover for such a job) is always loving and kind, and usually genuinely happy to see Lainie. Yes, they take good care of her, but they also give her the love and attention she craves. (They are also incredibly nice to me, and have helped me out many times over the years when I needed help at the last minute.) Whenever I pull up to Stay, Lainie rushes to the front door, the surest sign that she's happy to be there. But daycare is not where it ends. Because she is so comfortable there, I can board her anytime and for as long as I want and I know that neither Lainie nor I will have any anxiety about the stay. Whether I pick her up 2 days or 2 weeks later, the next time we pull up to Stay she bounds out of the car and rushes to the front door. Yes, it's expensive, but this is my dog! I love her! My. Dog. Loves. This. Place. Better yet--I have the sweetest, kindest, most well-behaved puppy I've ever had the pleasure of owning or caring for (which I say as a former dogwalker and -sitter), and it's partially due to the absolutely amazing folks at Stay. I found Stay when I had to take a last-minute business trip abroad when the puppy was just four months old. He'd never been away from me for more than a few hours, and I was an absolute mess trying to work the situation out. Stay was like the 10th place I called (I may have been weeping a little), and they were the first one that put me at ease. The woman on the phone (shout-out to Jasmin!) was so kind and patient explaining all the details of their offerings, and the fact that the beautiful suites had webcams so that I could check on my fur baby helped ease the decision, and so with trepidation I booked his "stay." The dog I picked up after a week was even better than the one I dropped off: happy, healthy, and blessedly tired, with a sweet, confident independence he hadn't had before. And so we were sold. In the months since, Obie has gone to their playgroup/daycare at least a few days every week, and boarded a few more times as well. We've experienced a lot of different aspects of the facility and its offerings: he made the transition from the "puppy" playgroup to the "medium" group smoothly, and spending so much time well-supervised among other dogs has made him amazingly well-socialized and crazy outgoing; he comes home happy every single time. He loves staying in the lobby suites (because he loves begging humans for attention ALMOST as much as he loves running around at ridiculous speeds) but also does well boarding in the kennels when the suites are all booked. The staff are kind to humans and dogs alike and clearly very experienced; though they don't offer training through Stay directly, we've found them to be a good influence on Obie! Along with the formal training he gets elsewhere, going to Stay reinforces his natural tendency to be gregarious, affectionate, and unusually calm for an Aussie. We also love the heartwarming photo updates and little reports they send...they definitely taper off once your pup becomes a "regular," but that's A-ok, and Obie's occasional appearances on Stay's Instagram more than make up for it. ;) Thank you to Stay and the wonderful staff for making my amazing dog even more amazing and for saving the sanity of this poor soul who's raising a herding dog in an apartment! P.S...we've also had pretty good experiences with Stay's groomers. They are good, clear communicators who handle a wiggly puppy with kindness and get him home soft and clean. :) Plus, prices are decently reasonable (and they often run specials), and especially if your pup is already there for daycare, it's usually easy to tack something on last-minute. read more

Totally blown away with the overall experience we recently had at Stay. We boarded our 1.5 yr old shepard/lab mix here Friday-Sunday. He is extremely high energy! I dropped him off around 9am on Friday and the whole staff was so friendly. They explained what was in store for Sonny during his stay and let me know which rooms they would try him out in and also how to access the webcams from their app :) Awesome perk! We picked him up Sunday around 3pm and he had been playing in the outdoor daycare all day. He was pooped!! When Sonny was brought to me they gave me a great debriefing on the weekend! I didn't feel rushed at all, which I have felt at other facilities for both daycare & boarding. He was in the large daycare room the whole weekend and although he's a rough player and sometimes needs breaks (still a puppy), they put the extra effort in to let him play and socialize. It has been a "doggone" good summer for my dog, Nessa, at Stay! We already love the connected vet, Heal, so when we needed somewhere for our pup to get her energy out, Stay was the obvious choice. I was a little hesitant to leave her, as Nessa loves humans more than she loves other dogs. However, everything went perfectly. Daycare at Stay has made Nessa a better dog. By expending her energy all day, she comes home more even-keeled. She is gentler with our friends, kinder on walks, and gets into less trouble around the house because playtime is so stimulating. Stay staff member Victoria deserves a special shout-out. She gave me my initial tour of the facility and connected with Nessa quickly. Almost every day, Victoria was the one to report on Nessa's behavior and send her home with us. She really seems to love dogs, and always made me smile with her feedback. Nessa hasn't needed daycare for a few weeks due to a change in our schedule, but the next time we require a place for her, we will choose Stay again! read more

Don't know where to begin!!! January 2nd I checked Mick in to board due to emergency plumbing and heating in my unit!!! We were relatively new to Stay and had not boarded prior but our daycare experiences were always the best so boarding just exemplified the experience! He boarded 1/2-1/6 & 1/8-1/11!! The staff was amazing and understanding of our situation! They exemplified customer service over and and above! ( Sorry Jesus had to be at the receiving end of my 10 day melt down )) I knew my dog was safe and in good hands and being on the better end in True " Dogs Life " fashion because of your facilities and Staff!! I've had generally good experiences with day care and grooming (Jason is especially thoughtful), but boarding is horrible. Example #1-left medication to be given at bedtime and was told that would be fine. Ended up picking up the dog on the same day at 6p and medication had already been given. It would have worn off by bedtime (and wasn't even necessary now since not sleeping out) so I asked why it was given early. Answer - they give medication at dinner not at bedtime. They agreed I asked for bedtime so no explanation why I was told it was ok and why they couldn't give it on the dog's schedule. Example #2-left food for dinner that day and breakfast the next morning. Handler said fine, and my reservation was to pick up on afternoon of the second day (so before dinner). Bags were labeled as stay requests about when they were supposed to be used. They brought me back the dog with the bag of dinner food and couldn't tell me why it was left over. The "feeder" said this is the way the handler explained it. I pointed out that my dog wasn't even due to be in their care for dinner on the second day, and they kept repeating that this is the way yo handler explained it. My broad issue is that the boarding staff never, ever takes responsibility for how they care for your dog. And if they don't get something like feeding and medication right, it seems likely there will be other problems as well. To reiterate, this is about boarding only. read more

It's always hard leaving my dog, Margo, behind, but Stay makes everything so much easier. Their boarding options for overnight stays are great, and Margo always comes home happy whether she's just been there for a few hours for daycare or for an overnight stay. They also send very cute photos and report cards, which I really enjoy. They offer a lot of great amenities, and I usually schedule a grooming appointment while she's there. The staff is very friendly, and I can't recommend them enough. read more
