My boyfriend took me here last night because I wanted some good Italian dishes and had fettuccini alfredo on the brain all day. I was quite impressed. The meat ravioli with meat sauce was delish and boy am I glad to have leftovers of the Chicken Fettucini Alfredo today! Only thing I didn't care for is the side salad that comes out first was loaded with ham ( I don't eat ham at all) but who would've known? If you don't eat pork, be sure to specify what you don't want on it. It did have Feta cheese on it though and that was amazing. We started with the spinach pie ( apparently there is some Greek food on the menu also) which was basically spanokopita. I highly recommend that as an appetizer to share/split. My family and I have been to this restaurant many times over the years. Their Greek salad is phenomenal and never disappoints. In fact, when I am having a dinner party, I will often order a large Greek salad to go & serve it along with the dinner I am preparing, and always get raving comments. I like their Manicotti. Stopped here tonight with my sister to grab some dinner quickly. Our server was super friendly, even made sure to tell us the specials of the day. I had the chicken alfredo and my sister had the ravioli stuffed with meat. Everything came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Servers made sure our drinks were never empty. Stavros is a very nice family owned go to for large portions and very reasonable prices. Service is always very friendly and quick. Generally all on the menu is very good, but....at least based my most recent visit - avoid the Eggplant Parm. Chewy, and unappealing. Sauce and cheese were good, but the eggplant not so much. Their highly regarded Greek Salads and garlic rolls are great (wish I knew the dressing recipe...anybody?). Manicotti, Spaghetti and Meat Balls, all outstanding. We will be back. read more

I have to say this restaurant is off the beaten path. The intersection in front of it has a lot of traffic. The space is small and cluttered. I was last here a few years ago. This is my first time reviewing it. The food is appetizing and they give generous portions. I have had just about every type of fare they offer. The pizza is really delicious and they use premium toppings. The gyros are subpar. The pasta is cooked well and they make good sauces. My major complaint is the lack of service. The salad is one of the best because it's shredded lettuce, gorgeous tomato slices, veggies, feta, and a wonderful house dressing all served in a consistent way. We have eaten here many times over the years, always take-out, and it has always been excellent. My wife loves their greek salad and pepperoni pizza and I love their lasagna. This is "old fashioned, down-home" Italian cooking (as opposed to new/trendy/fancy Italian with tons of seafood dishes). Their calzones are pretty good too, though there is another place in the area we like even better. I also appreciate the fact that over the past 5-6 years they have not raised their prices much, unlike some of their competitors. As we had been to two other Stavros's restaurants my lady friend and I thought we would try this one. We sat at one of the few outside tables on this beautiful Florida afternoon and were looking forward to eating a late lunch. The waitress was very pleasant when she came out with the menus and the brought us water as we perused them. We looked them for a long time, but fortunately the staff door to the kitchen was close by so the monotony was broken by guys going through the door, and we even got to see one of the guys leaving the kitchen to fish through the cigarette butts with his gloves on his way out back to smoke. With that charming display over we returned to waiting for the waitress. It was a fruitless occupation. Like Godot, she never returned, and while they did not appear to be all that busy, so I would guess that they don't need or want our business. We would have loved to try the gyros and Greek salad, not mention the pizza to take home for dinner, but alas that was not to be. The other Stavros we have gone to were good, but as we wasted enough time there our return is doubtful. On the plus side, the water was very good. Nice and cold. read more

Been here once on the advice of my neighbor who raved about Stavros. Eh, I don't see what the big deal is. Its always packed--especially during snow bird season. I got a pizza and salad and it was ok...the pictures looked better than it actually was. The crust didn't have much flavor, but the toppings were good and the sauce just tasted like pizza sauce. Nothing really stood out to me as being unique about this place. I wouldn't rave about it, but if you're hungry for Italian then you'll probably be ok, especially since this area doesn't have much more to offer so I guess being mediocre is ok. read more

I will only purchase pizza from mom and pop pizzerias. Knowing this, a friend took me to Stavro's for the first time on Saturday. I was tempted to special order an extra thin crust, but my friend said, "Stavro's has a unique crust." Therefore, I decided to try it their original way. Wow, am I glad I did. The crust was perfect, not to thick or thin. It has a unique (great) flavor that you have to experience yourself. The sauce, toppings, and cheese were also perfect. We have been eating here for a long time. Some times a couple days a week. Because we live a mile away from the restaurant, it is convenient to do so. The food is ok . Well, my wife and I stopped in for dinner in August , it was about 102° My wife carried in her small clear water bottle with spring water & ice in it. ( She needs to drink water often) we were seated and given menus. The waitress walked away while I considered what I wanted to drink and looked at menu for dinner options. A different lady (owner?) came to our table and told us we had to leave !! She picked up our menus. We could not believe what we were hearing ! She said she can't bring in our own drinks. A glass of spring water? Are you kidding?? I was going to have a beer my wife drinks ice tea with dinner. Note, we are in our 60's. One cup of water cost them a regular customer and our children, who live there a couple of months a year and our friends and neighbors. We will never go there again. Been here seven or so times over the last couple of years and service has diminished considerably. It's a Saturday night and we arrived at 6:45pm. We had 4 different waitresses and they were more concerned about closing down and putting away wine and other duties than checking on seated customers. Really disappointed because my daughter really likes the meatballs but we will not be back. I don't know if the staff is tired or what but the service could be friendlier and more attentive for sure. This was probably one of the worst meals that we have had in along time!!!! The parking lot was always full every time we passed here so in spite of the other reviews we decided to try it. We had garlic cheese bread that we had to ask for marinara for ($2.50). The marinara was an odd flavor and the garlic cheese bread was like something your 7 year old would make you. We have eaten here dozens of times and found the food and service to be outstanding,however today we ordered a Stromboli and found it to be cold inside and burned on the bottom.This would not be a big deal as most of it was at least edible if warmed up.The waitress took it away to warm and it came back cold and more burned .We asked to try again when we were told by a different waitress the crust was never burned in the first place .She said that was not possible so I showed her a picture that I just took before they took it away and she called me a liar that the photo not from there .Yup I carry photos of Stromboli in my phone all the time .On check out I gave them my credit card and the owner proceeded to tell us the food was good that we ate 3/4 of it .The waitress had taken our food away and never brought it back we didn't get to eat that much of the Stromboli ,but our Greek Salad was wonderful as usual .Well then the waitress began yelling that we just didn't want to pay even though she had my credit card in hand ,called me an ass hole and said she was going to call the cope because I had not paid .She still had my card in her hand .Then the owner called me an ass hole and told me to leave and never come back ,took my credit card and threw it to me . And that is how I was thrown out of my favorite restaurant in Eustis Florida .I do regret all of the above and I am sure this was a very bad day for the owner and I do wish better times ahead for all. read more

I usually like Stavro's, but I've always gotten their Italian dishes, such as Carbonara Mediterranean and Baked Lasagna, which has always been very good. I've been on a Gyro kick lately, and a friend told me I should try here. I'm so sorry I did. There were only three very thinly sliced pieces of luncheon meat, of which were cut to fit in a single layer to cover the pita, and there was not a bit of flavor at all on the meat. It was piled high with shredded lettuce, but at this price there should be a bit more than a small amount of tasteless meat. I couldn't understand why they kept saying their sauce was cucumber based until I tasted it and realized it wasn't right for ANY gyro, let alone for theirs. I had to call four times before someone answered the phone. The first three times I got a message that the cellular customer wasn't within reach. I'm truly disappointed in this visit, but will continue to enjoy their Italian menu. read more

If I could give them ZERO, I would based on the service. I am a firm believer in giving a place 2 chances. First time. I ordered a gyro with extra onions. I was to,d us was 50 cents extra. My spouse order a sub without onions. I said...instead of charging me, can I have her onions on the side. The girl. was clueless. She had to ask someone. She came back...extra onions...50 cents. My spouse said...give me the onions. I said ...forget the extra onions. We waited and waited. People who ordered after us were served their pizza and all we wanted were subs in a sense. The place wasn't even busy. You can count the people in the place. I questioned the waitress and she said ...I will check and never came back. Another waitress brought our food about 10 mins later...they people eating the pizza were almost done. Guess what...no onions on neither sandwiches. By the time we got the waitress to correct it the sandwiches were cold. We left unhappy. When we spoke to the manager...there really wasn't any apology. We didn't want a discount or anything..we wanted acknowledgement of our time waiting and disappointment. The 2nd time.....called in order for take out for my spouse. I arrived and there was a customer waiting at the counter and a man and a lady both entered after me. When the customer at the counter finished the clerk said to the man, how can I help you? I said, excuse me but I was here first. The man says nothing to acknowledge what I said. The clerk doesn't look at me nor acknowledges me. I repeat, excuse me I was here first. I am here to pick up my order. Silence. The other customer said, she is right. She was here before we both walked into the place. No...I'm sorry Miss for the confusion. No acknowledgement. I was in shock. I got my order and left. I don't want to think it was racial but both times at this location, the actions of the staff made me feel very uncomfortable.
