I needed to get some lunch and didn't want the 'grab your lunch, sit by yourself' hustle and bustle of Portillo's. I wanted to be waited on in a place where I could get a good meal and a bottomless cup of coffee (I was working). So I went one building south of Portillo's on Kingery Highway to Stats Bar & Grill. It wasn't crowded (there were some guys at the bar, another couple at one table and a large office party at a row of tables). I grabbed a table to looked over the menu. The first card I grabbed I thought was the daily specials, but it turned out to be their selection of beers. So I grabbed the food menu. They have a good selection of appetizers, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. My server was Agne and she did a great job of being attentive without being annoying. I ordered the Original Angus burger. It was HUGE! (Check out the picture) The burger was a quality piece of meat and the fries were good and plenty. I think they might have had some kind of breading. There was so much food I couldn't finish it. The one gripe I have about this place is they toasted the bun slightly. I'm not a big toasted bun guy so I told the manager they should mention that it comes toasted, either on the menu or the server should say something. But that's just me. Even with it toasted, the bun was almost gone when I finished. I asked for a container for the fries. I thought I might eat them later as I drove around. The Darien/Willowbrook area is seriously lacking a good non-chain local bar. When Stats first opened, I was optimistic that this place could change that. The bartenders are friendly, and the beer options are fairly diverse. However, it is simply not an affordable option for me to regularly patron here. Every time I get my bill, I'm a bit surprised at the cost of a couple beers. It seems they want to focus a bit more on the restaurant and appeal more to neighboring Burr Ridge's income over packing the seats with regulars who want a place to hang out and watch sports. There's a Buffalo Wild Wings 1000 feet south of here - their bar is always packed. One would think Stats would get the overflow of that crowd on nights you can't get a seat - that's simply not the case. On nights when the competitor is standing room only, Stats is usually half capacity. read more

I've been here about 5 times and all have been average. The service is decent and the food is your typical bar food. What I do like is the amount of TVs if you want to watch a game. The Caesar salad was just okay. The dressing was certainly not Caesar. I got no anchovy nor garlic in it at all. It tasted like a standard oil and vinegar. However, half salads during lunch is a great idea considering their portions are gynormous. The sliders are decent as well. I actually liked the Mexican egg rolls. They are just like they sound, but sort of an original idea and tasty. Overall, there is nothing to really impress about this place but a decent option, particularly if you are looking to stay in the neighborhood or if you've been to a few of the other local spots recently. read more

This little spot is tucked in the strip mall right across from Portillo's. If you blink, you may miss it. Stats just opened, so when you walk in you get that "new" smell which excites you.. you know the smell, right? Like when you sit in a brand new car and take it all in. Pretty sweet if you ask me. On with the good stuff.... We visited twice in one weekend. Friday night, for a drink on the way home & Sunday for some football & food. They have plenty of drafts on tap and more bottles if you need something more to choose from. Sunday, $5 Bloody Mary's! Yesssss! Carrie was the bartender on Sunday and she mixes a mean one so make sure you give it a try. The kitchen seemed to struggle a bit (which is why I only gave 4 stars) but I think they'll get better once they find their rhythm. It was not busy by any means and it took about 20-25 minutes for our burgers to come out. When they did come out, the specialty fries we wanted were not on the plate so we had to send it back. I ordered the Moo, Cluck, Oink burger with truffle fries. Basically, it is a burger with bacon and egg on top & was pretty good but undercooked. Not usually a big deal for me but I ordered it medium and it came out medium rare. The "truffle" fries were okay, definitely not the best I have ever had. They spayed truffle oil on them and sprinkled the Parmesan cheese all over and sent it out. Both the oil and cheese was distributed unevenly & way too heavy in spots. The burger was delicious though, even with the hiccups. Like I said, I think they just need a little more practice and they'll be well on their way. We were looking for a simple sports bar to walk in, find a table and catch the Cubs playoff game. Mission accomplished! We got a table right away, best table in the house I thought. It was all the way in the back corner, so didn't have to worry about people bumping into us. Beer menu got the job done. Tv's got the job done. We have eaten here a few more times since my first review. So far, it's never disappointed. The food is really really good and the servers are always so nice. One thing that surprises me, is that the owners never take the time to walk around and greet their customers. That goes a long way when trying to building a strong relationship with the people you want to come back again and again. Finally got to try this for lunch, we were looking for something different than the nearby BWW. Ordered Salads, mini burgers, and my specialty - hot wings. We were also offered a corn / poblano pepper soup (gratis, thanks). salad, soup, fries = great. Drinks = great. Wings = good. Service = very good/excellent. Facility is also excellent. Dont even think of ordering the Cesar Salad and expect it to be a Cesar Salad! It's just Lettuce and trimmings and stuff with bottled Cesar dressing (Probably Kraft) We complained to the waitress and she said "Yeah, we're not very good at making Cesar salads here" They did not even offer to take it off the bill. read more

I love this place. But tonight we tried something different a Parmesan crusted chicken with asparagus risotto. It's was horrible, and truly believe it was a pork chop... I'm a cook and chicken cuts different and looks different. On top of that the service was absolutely awful! She barely spoke to we, "ran" away everytime she left the table, completely rude. We love this place, My Wife and I will run out and meet my parents for lunch. They have a managed to keep moving forward during the most difficult of times. The food is always great, the staff accommodating and practice all Covid protocols for a restaurants in Illinois. I am definitely not a fan of writing reviews about places, but I do have to say this is definitely a great place to get some food that is high-quality and also get fantastic service at the same time. Which we all know it's very difficult to do these days. This is my second time here and they were very accommodating both times. The first time was after a 7 Hour drive and I was tired and moody and by the time I got out a lot of the places were closed except this place. I for sure left satisfied and in a much better mood. Second time I went to watch a football game on Thursday and again most places were closed even Buffalo Wild Wings, go figure. This place was a huge disappointment. Rude customer service, and bad food. Never again will I eat here. My coworkers and I had to work New Year's Day, so we decided to get takeout from this place. (Working New Years sucks, but it's not an excuse for poor customer service.) The food wouldn't have been that bad if the woman taking our order had stopped talking long enough to listen to what I was saying. She even got rude with me when I had to repeat the order multiple times. I called to speak to a manager about how the food was poorly made and the order was incorrect, and he thought it appropriate to laugh while saying "oh, well I'm sorry." He didn't even offer to correct the order. Burgers were nasty, and poorly made. Truffle fries had no flavor. The only thing worth eating out of my $50 order was the stuffed jalapeños. Went there 4 times (November and December 2015 and January and February 2016), after work, for a drink and a bite to eat. Quite a few choices for BURGERS on their menu. Unfortunately the meat they are using is worse than (insert an animal here) meat. Has to be a 40/60 mix. I won't even use that for my dog! They need to step up their quality if they want to have return clients. Especially if most of the choices involve ground beef! Also, they have changed their potato skins from fresh hand made, to frozen from a bag. Yuck. and The cheese they use on their nachos is out of a can. Really? Fake cheese on a nacho? How hard is it to melt real cheese on a nacho chip? Seriously - saving a buck is not going to get you repeat business. read more

Nice small sports bar that we'll go to Saturday's or Sunday's to watch football. We usually sit at the bar, and since the tvs are pretty big and you're close you can really only watch two games. If you're not watching a IL sports team you probably won't get sound unless you're the only ones in there, which has happened a few times even during peak game hours. We usually get the appetizer sampler which is a good taste of everything, and switch it up for entrees as nothing has stood out to us as being really good yet. I think Sangria is on special on Saturday and Bloody Mary on Sunday's or I could have it switched. All Sangria is different and I'm not too picky, but I wasn't able to finish my glass. Bloody Mary was pretty good, she had a real heavy hand with the steak sauce but she warned me and added some more mix when I drank some. Some of the draft beers are pricier than other places, but the selection is pretty good for both bottle and draft. read more
