This is how packages meant to be picked up are kept at this Canada Post/Stationary Store. Near items for sale. Not very secure.

Be weary of receiving your packages at this location (stationary store) as the establishment takes absolutely no responsibility in misplaced packages & is rude to boot. Packages are stored in an unsecure location around and across from the counter near items for sale. The packages very well could be stolen. I've had two packages unaccounted for which Canada Post confirms delivering to them. I came to pick up my package per the instructions on my delivery notice and left without a package & appalled by the rude service and lack of professionalism. It started civilly, I had a delivery notice indicating my package should be picked up at this location and was informed that this package had not arrived- even though the notice itself stated it had been brought here days ago. The associate insisted that it wasn't at their location and gave me a 1-800 Canadian Postal number to call. I advised her that this is the second time this has happened at this location. As I turned to leave, I said this location seems to eat my packages and that is when things took a turn for the absolute worst. The associate Alicia, who identified herself as the Postmaster, started yelling that I accused her of withholding & stealing packages and she was offended. She continued to scream as I explained I had not said this and she kicked me out of the store. Pointing at me & screaming get out. The worst is I was with my 15 month old which is why I remained calm through this entire bizarre episode. I had not said or insinuated that she withheld or stole my packages, nor do i believe this. I have never seen such behavior or been treated like this. I went in a second time to take pictures as I believe they are negligent in the manner in which they keep the packages. She was rude yet again and began erratically yelling that I accused her of withholding packages and she was offended. I told her I was offended and deserve an apology for her behavior. I even asked her, why would I or anyone accuse a postal service of thievery? She offered an angry apology and another associate came to advise me off how the postal service works (there is an absence of costumer service & common sense here). I told her that this wasn't an issue with the postal service but of poor customer service and appalling behavior. I should add that with my previous missing package an older gentlemen at that establishment helped me (who offered the same excuses and took no responsibility but was professional and polite) was very professional and polite. The two associates present today, particularly Postmaster Alicia needs customer service training (she lost her composure and there was a serious lack of judgment) and this location needs to reevaluate how they store packages. This may not be the reason for my missing package but currently their system of storing packages is not secure. Lastly, a customer should be treated respectfully. While doing business difficult situations do arise but it is the way you handle these situations that set you apart for better or in this case the worst. I sincerely hope that you use this as a training opportunity and understand that this is not how you treat people/customers. I am still in shock.

I just love this store!…read more Many of the artisan or unique household accessories I've personally looked up online in the past few months were actually here on display, available for purchase! The types of items stocked here are totally down my alley, so I admit, I am biased. I love modern, clever, functional, non-fussy things, items with clean lines, nothing superfluous (I hate clutter. So things have to be practical!), smart and contemporary. It's like the buyer at this shop totally read my mind. I loved practically everything here. They have the coolest binoculars, lightweight puff blankets in a bag (light as a feather. Really!), candles, decanters, baskets, placemats and trivets and coasters, reflective tags and pins, cards, stunning jewelry, thick "butcher" aprons with the coolest hardware clips, organic baby linen bundles and gifts, contemporary tea infusers, glassware, adult card games and notebooks.... I could go on and on. Everything is cool here and beautiful to look at. The ladies who work here were all super nice and totally let us browse at our leisure. They were also very knowledgeable about all the merchandise. I've seen some of these items at local craft fairs, so I know they are locally made, by local artisans. There's a small section by the rear counter with sale items. Nice! This is an amazing shop, and the perfect place to get a hostess gift - or something for yourself!

I would give zero Stars if I could…read more I went into the store, I am an indigenous person and I was looking at their jewelry. I picked out about 10 items I was going to hold on to and when I got to the cashier, I was going to go through them and leave behind the ones I didn't want to keep. The workers asked me if I wanted them to hold them for me, I politely said no thank you I am perfectly capable of holding my own items. Once I said this, I was followed through the entire store after telling them I had lots of money on me and I would be willing to show them. I also let them know that I am not a thief and never having been. I called them out for following me and they said they were just following me to offer me help if I needed it. I responded saying I would not need help but thank you very much, they continued to follow me despite this. I told them the souvenir store was full of indigenous items and these items are made by my people or supposed to be made by my people and I would be writing a review to show everyone who is deciding to go to the store to purchase items and to let them know the horrible experience I had due to the fact that I am indigenous. So not only are they making money off the art of indigenous people, they are discriminating against us and making us feel less than. None of the employees followed any other persons who were white or brown (these employees were Brown). Please sing twice before spending your money on this shop. Thank you for reading. MD

Shame on me. Money well spent. I had a good time doing it. There's 4 or 5 tourist souvenir places on water street with the same merchandise. I love stores that…read moreshowcase unique items for the house and home: kitchen and bath luxuries, lotions and potions, tea towels and candles, gift ideas. This small store packs a punch. They have a lot of unique items I've not seen in other stores. (I think my friend said that the owner is a British lady who gets a lot of her things from England). Lots of floral items, potteries, soaps, and now, that we're entering the holiday season, lots of European Christmas items (ornaments, figurines, candles, stocking stuffers, etc). I really liked the selection of greeting cards here. They have a lot that showcase dogs (some cats too, but I noticed more dog cards). I saw beautiful cards and calendars and note pads and small mint tins with lovely artwork of so many dog breeds, and greeting cards with dogs, too. I just love that. I have a foodie friend who is particularly difficult for me to shop for. (I mean, honestly, I can 't afford the gourmet foods and wines he and his wife like). But I found the perfect gift for him here: a "wine and cheese pairing swatch book", and I know he will love this! (I'm attaching photos of the swatch book and the greeting card I got here today). I should note, there are a lot of breakables in this store, and there's a long, narrow aisle to walk alongside each side of a long display table in the center of the store. I note this, as this might not be the best place to go if you have a rambunctious toddler. (My friend mentioned that she used to take her mom here, years ago, when her mother was in a wheelchair, and it was "a nightmare" navigating this long, narrow aisle). FYI. All in all, this is really great store if you have to find a gift for someone who's hard to shop for. Or yourself!

There is a huge assortment of yummy-smelling soaps of every kind, and cool kitchen stuff, including the hand-painted Assisi pottery that I adore (but not cheap). Also teapots, and linens upon linens. I spent quite a bit of time in the back baby corner surveying potential baby-niece gifts, and there is a closet full of Victorian-esque night gowns. You can also stock up on party wares like exquisitely patterned paper napkins. I'll definitely be going back. October Challenge 20/31
