Eastenders Park is a favourite venue of London soap opera stars. But the best thing about East End…read morePark is that it's so unscottish. It may have a capacity of only 11k, but it's built like an English stadium, with big stands and semi closed corners. The atmosphere is excellent. First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - watching a match here reminded me of seeing a game in England. Only with better food. My goodness, I would give that bridie another go at any given meal time, 7 days in a row. Absolutely delicious. It's loud in here, the fans are great, it's one of the best experiences in Scottish football. If they could pack the house a little bit more, I'd give them a 5. Also if I could mail-order those Bridies, they'd get a 6. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later. Also, when back in Scotland I plan to take more pix, and add more stadia! So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** It was opened in 1885 and is a stadium that all of the people of Dunfermline should be proud of. Also make sure you try a pie here, they're cheap and delicious. It's close to the centre of town, which is another plus.

As a fan of "The Pars," as this club is commonly known, I feel it is my duty to sing it praises by writing a quick review. With a modest capacity of around 12,509, it's not the Nou Camp of Barcelona, but it still boasts some of the best facilities in the country. Of note are the legendary Steak Bridies which are baked by Dunfermline's famous "Stephen's the Bakers". Pies are freshly delivered on match day, so if the football isn't up to much you can rest assured that a meaty bridie will help bring a smile to your face. At half time you can expect to be entertained by Scotland's number 1 mascot Sammy The Tammy. His naughty pranks are legendary and his often risky antics can end up as the next days headlines. In my time I have seen Sammy construct a cardboard tank and "aim fire" at opposition fans, ski down one of the main stands in honour of the winter Olympics and make fun of countless managers and players. The relatively small and compact stadium with its close proximity to the pitch can make for a great atmosphere, especially when a local rival comes to town. Entry to a match costs around £17-20, so it may not exactly be a cheap day out, but you can rest assured that football fans will not be disappointed to visit this humble little club.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - Tannadice Park is one of my fave stadiums because of the name, the intense atmosphere (possibly the loudest in Scotland) and the team that plays here. I've seen home games here on 3 occasions including once when I was little, and I intend to come back here many more times and bring my girl here someday. I love it, I love how orange and intense and windy and cold and awesome it is. However, I can't give it that 5 stars. When I went back in 2014 most recently, I remember thinking... if they just fill in the corners and modernize it a bit, it could be one of the best stadiums in the UK. And so much less cold! Maybe one of these days. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Dundee United play here in bright orange, which is why the whole stadium is bright orange. It's in the middle of a neighbourhood and it's really lovely here, watching games here is a thrill and the fans are fantastic. It's been in use since 1883. It is one of the best atmospheres in Scottish football and everyone should see a game here before you eat Haggis or Deep Fried Mars Bars. If they fill in the corners and increase the acoustics it'll get 5.

You're starting to annoy me, please just Glebe me alone…read more First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - Glebe is a really tiny place where Brechin play. I haven't watched live football here, but I have been inside, and talked to a groundsman for probably 45 minutes about this stadium, the problems with it, and other issues. I agreed with most of the negativity, and for that I'll give it a 2 rather than the standard 3. I enjoyed the visit, but this may have been one of the least impressive Scottish Stadia I visited. It opened in 1919 and is too small to meet UEFA's requirements, whatever they may be. The largest stand is behind the goal. Aberdeen uses Glebe Park for its reserve matches.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - This is where Arbroath plays, and I came here to watch them in 2011 and had a good time. The stadium was nearly empty and it was pretty cold, but it was my first footy match of the year during my tour and it made me very excited to be back at a game after spending so much of my childhood at games. The stadium itself is decent sized and is right on the coast. It's absolutely freezing to be honest. It's located on the coast and is a decent stadium with some terraces and a good atmosphere. It is, at least, a proper ground as far as Scottish Div 2 grounds go. It opened in 1925, and it's right next to the North Sea and one of the most freezing grounds I've ever been to.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I've been to Pittodrie twice, but only once to watch a game. It was my 3rd fave experience in Scottish football but only because my fave Scottish team (Celtic) got a narrow and thrilling win. One of my most memorable nights watching Celtic for sure. Then when I was on tour here in 2011, the morning after the night of my concert, I went to relive the memories and walk around the stadium. I noticed that it hasn't changed a bit. It's still huge, it's still intense, but it badly needs a makeover and perhaps to have the corners filled in. Maybe that will happen soon. If it does, this grand old stadium from the 19th century could earn the 5th star that I want to give it. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** The grand home of Aberdeen FC way up by the ocean in NE Scotland, this 1899 stadium holds 21k and is one of the biggest in Scotland with a fierce support. It was the first all-seater stadium in the UK. It's the 3rd largest stadium being used by a top club. It has a cool granite facade. They might move to a new stadium but that would be a tragedy really since this one is so good. It's 15 mins from the city centre on foot and Briony has been there. it's an expensive ticket. It could be better atmosphere-wise if the corners were filled in but it's one of the better stadiums in the country. It's very close to the sea which makes it absolutely freezing.

It has artificial turf, and it can hold 3k people. Montrose used to rent the pitch out for livestock and grazing (hahahahaa), and their stand was formerly used at the Highland Games.
