We had Raj from stationhouse provide all the food for a family event. Over 40 people were fed the most delicious pulled pork and brisket. We loved the sauces (especially big chief) and the coleslaw. The smoked beans were also a big hit. The food was delivered right on time and we were very happy with the entire experience. This was my favourite restuarant in Vernon up until tonight. This place used to be amazing, food , service and ambiance was terrific the last time I came here. After speaking with the server I learned that it had recently changed ownership. Something was missing tonight, ribs were just okay, brisket was dry, salad was 60% croutons and the service was mediocre. very unfortunate , this place was the best for a long time. Sadly those days are long gone and so are we, I don't think we'll be visiting again. If you know this place then you know just how good it was, big hit to Vernon's restaurant scene. read more

Service was slow, took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. Just beer, wine and water. He took our food order at the same time as the drinks order. Took nearly an hour to get the food. Pulled chicken was cool, not hot at all. Brisket wasn't hot either. Sent both back. They did give us fresh food but also barely warm. Gumbo had no okra or sausage but was hot and flavorful. Excellent food! Tried the pulled pork, pulled chicken and beef brisket. The beef brisket was the best. No sauce needed. The sauces were outstanding, other than their standard BBQ sauce, which was just good. All sauces were gluten free, too. Very reasonably priced. We went on a very busy day, and the service took a little long. Definitely don't go for dinner if you're in a hurry... this is a popular spot. Came here for dinner and the service was excellent. We have two young children and two adults and the appetizer for two and a platter was all we needed. We tried their BBQ sauces, but none of them were to our liking and they were not spicy nor even hot and we don't eat a lot of hot stuff. The winner is the pickle sauce in the appetizer. The hubby loves the candy bacon. We've never tried anything like that so I would highly recommend to try them even though they taste like the most unhealthiest thing in the world. The brisket was so so. It was good with the pickle sauce, but we have had brisket much more tender and juicy in other places then here. This was my first visit to Station BBQ, and from the moment I walked in I felt like I was at a family members restaurant. On the service side, I was welcomed by the owners, was attended to with perfect timing, and had some nice brief conversation with the server, and the owners. The menu is perfectly simple. Have a platter, or a sandwich, along with some appys or sides and a cold drink. They make it easy to order, and the pricing was on point for the amount of food you get. I was stuffed by the end. I had the Briskett platter with fresh veggies and onion rings. The Briskett was perfectly cooked, it had a little bit of stretch before pulling apart easily with my fingers, and it melted in my mouth. Make sure to do a quick dip on their homemade bbq sauces. Great taste, and the barn burner had the perfect amount of zing! The seasoning was perfect, a slight crust around the outside, and a pink smoke ring to show they put good care in their times and temps. It was comparable with some of the best bbq smokehouses in Kansas City, the best place in the world for good Briskett. Fresh veggies are fresh veggies, so no need for comment there, but the onion rings and corn bread muffin was excellent. Overall I was very pleased with the meal, the service, and the restaurant itself. I would definitely visit again when coming through town. read more

I've lived in the southern U.S., and have been to a lot of BBQ places down there. This place can stand with the best of them. Food is first-rate, service is friendly, quick, and attentive, and they get the ambiance of a small BBQ place right - you can smell that this is going to be a good experience as soon as you walk in the door. The ribs in particular stand out; it'd be difficult to imagine BBQ ribs done much better than this. Tender, but still firm enough to come off the bone cleanly, and good colour and flavour without an overwhelming amount of smoke or spice. Nice selection of sauces to go with them, not that they need them. Sides are also high-quality and generously-sized, as are the desserts. And, fortunately, it's in Vernon, the better part of an hour's drive from me. If it was much closer, I'd be here so often they'd eventually need to widen the doors to let me in. read more

Go with the recommendations staff give you when you go to a place like this. In this case it was the ribs and brisket. Amazing! With a variety of sides that are delicious too. Even the potato salad has bbq meat in it. House made sauces were a hit as well. Ask for the extra hot they hide from regular folks. We drove up to Canada to visit our friend who owns The Gentlemen's Shop and Shave Parlour across the street from this restaurant. We told that we absolutely had to try this place for lunch. All I have to say is: CANDIED BACON, MOUTINE (Poutine and BBQ), DELICIOUS SOUTHERN BBQ, CRAFT BEER and a pack of ROCKETS (Smarties to us American folk). We went to this place with very high expectations.. well.. if we talk about service and quantity there's nothing to complain about. Portions are huge! Not just the quantity of meat but the sides too.. we ordered two platters and honestly we could have shared just one. Thing is that my brisket was good but dry and I really needed to put sauce on it (and I usually don't..) and the pork was flavourless. We liked the ribs but they were dry as well. Onion rings and fries were too oily. I love onion rings but I couldn't eat them. On the other hand the beans and potato salad we ordered were good and so was the cornbread. A good place to go if you're looking for quantity but definitely overpriced. read more
