My little sister and her friend came in for matching tattoos on Saturday, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was awful from start to finish. Toby was the artist for my sister's friend, and the tattoo she left with speaks for itself. The line work is uneven, shaky, and poorly executed, especially for such a small and simple design. I am someone who is covered with tattoos myself and have worked with many of apprentices - There's really no excuse for a butterfly outline to look this rough. Especially from someone who claims to have been doing this for 25 years. Beyond the tattoo itself, the professionalism was even more concerning. From the moment we walked in, Toby made both girls and myself visibly uncomfortable. Im very easy going and normally let things go.. But this guy was rude, judgmental, wildly inappropriate, and out of line the entire time. At one point I stepped away briefly to check on my sister, and during that short time he apparently said things that made her friend feel uneasy enough that she brought it up to me immediately afterward. I'm intentionally not repeating the comments he made here because they were very graphic and not something I feel comfortable posting in detail on Google. Things that should not have been said to a freshly 18 year old girl. This was our first experience at this shop, and it will absolutely be our last. A tattoo is permanent. People should be able to trust both the quality of the work and the professionalism of the artist, especially younger clients coming in for something meaningful and simple. Unfortunately, we got neither. I would strongly recommend doing your research before booking here, particularly with Toby.

The tattoo looks great. I couldn't be happier. While doing the consultation and sketching, George and I talked about horror movies we like. So, while he was doing the tattoo he put the Exorcist (series) on the TV so I could watch it. He made me very comfortable and checked with me to make sure I was doing ok. I highly recommend George. I am confident that the other artists are good too because I don't think G would hire anyone who isn't good. I will be back for a larger piece soon!

Avoid Tommy at Agaru Tattoo -- especially for larger or painful pieces…read more I had a terrible experience with Tommy at Agaru. He did my Robot Moth tattoo on the inner hip -- it's about the size of my hand -- and the pain was unreal. I sat through it hoping I'd never have to touch that area again. But when I got home, even my boyfriend noticed something was off: the top left wing is smaller than the right. I went back twice to get it fixed. The first time, Tommy literally said, "I don't see what you're talking about." He eventually touched it up, but it still looked off. The second session didn't help either, and by then I was so frustrated I just wanted to leave. I knew I'd have to go to someone else to actually fix it. This is a large piece. There was plenty of room for detail and balance, but he just didn't even try. The lines are uneven, it feels rushed, and honestly, it looks lazy. What's worse -- Tommy clearly wasn't thrilled about fixing it. His energy was dismissive both times I came back. My boyfriend even tipped him $50 after the first session -- if we'd been able to see through all the blood and ink at the time, that would've been a big fat zero. I don't know if it was because I'm a woman or what, but I didn't feel respected or cared for at all. NEVER again with Tommy. I'll be going to a real artist to fix this mess. - Yoasha

She was very welcoming when I walked into the shop and explained to me all that I needed to fill out before we could get started. She was very clean and made sure to have sterile supplies and wore gloves. She's very nice and easy to talk to, made my piercing go more smoothly then I thought it would. After the piercing was over she explained to me what the proper cleaning techniques I could use and also mentioned that when they do heal she will be able to switch out the jewelry for me. So far I have not had any problems with them, they are healing really nicely and look healthy, and are placed perfectly on my body to by symmetrical. My main bone to pick is with Jay. I trusted him with my first tattoo ever and he ripped me off and gave me an ugly tattoo. He charged me 250$ for the tattoo and acted like there wasn't a mistake. And I'm the type of person that will still tip someone. I was furious it's total was 300$. Bullshit. I gave jay creative freedom over the tattoo design and I could have easily agreed to a color tattoo if he suggested it as the best option. He never sent me a picture of his design or really talked to me I just showed up and was kinda forced to pick the one option. Jay should have been straight up said I can make this tattoo look a lot better if I did it in color. I was a very accommodating client and in no way was difficult. But I feel Jay gave me a bad black and grey tattoo. And took advantage of me. Coming in to the shop was bad right off that bad I wasn't treated nicely. I was instantly ridiculed for bring me boyfriend. Jay never mentioned people were not allowed to come with you to your tattoo. Instantly when I sat in the chair it was awkward. Jay didn't make an effort to communicate, and as soon as he began outlining and shading he messed up starting the carpet from the movie. There was nothing I could do about it. And I was furious. I hated my first tattoo experience because of jay. He gave me a jacked up tattoo and I'm pissed. You can barely make out the numbers in on the keychain. And most times people only see the god damn key and ask what it's connected to. The composition sucks and so does the shading. Overall moral of this is: DO NOT GO TO JAY FOR BLACK AND GREY! HE WILL JUST STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOUR STUCK WITH A BAD TATTOO! If I could give it NO STARS I WOULD!

It's a smaller shop, but welcoming. Everything is really clean and sterile, which I feel besides the overall atmosphere and quality of work, that's REALLY important too.
