It's a beautiful roast ... probably Select Grade, since it was about $120. But there is plenty of fat in the cap. If this beauty doesn't taste worth a damn, it's on me. Notice that I rubbed it with dry rosemary, course black pepper, Kosher salt and lemon zest. It will sit in the fridge overnight and roast low and slow on Christmas Day. We also picked up bacon, breakfast sausage and Dearborn hot dogs (I'm a hot dog junkie). All of it was fresh and tasty, The service here is spot-on. Not only do they answer questions, but they also give you exactly what you order ... along with some advice. That's old-school, and it's too bad that there aren't more places like this anymore. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.

My family and I drive from Pittsburgh to State Meats a couple times a year. They have by far the best kielbasi around. We have been coming here for many years and will continue to do so! We share the same last name but no relation so it makes it even better! If you haven't been here, try it, you won't be disappinted. I drive 90 miles just to go here! read more
