My experience was with the Passport Processing service that they offer here. As I'm not a resident…read moreof Upper Arlington, I don't usually go to this library for book rentals, so I can't speak on that..I will say my interactions with clerks and librarians was very nice - they're happy to help you through your whole visit and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and the folks they interact with. Dale in Passport Processing was kind, friendly, on time, fastidious, and a great conversationalist. He triple checked documents for accuracy, going through them twice himself and then had a clerk look through things a final time to be certain everything was correct. He explained the fees, the general passport process, and provided resources for tracking. Expected processing times were clearly visible and were updated when and if wait times changed. Dale made a process that felt daunting and intimidating a breeze. I feel far more at ease after my appointment as opposed to before it. Not just because the task is done on my part, but because I know my personal identification will be handled with care and confidentiality. If you need to renew or obtain a passport, I would highly recommend going to work with Dale at the Upper Arlington Public Library.

For being the main branch of the Upper Arlington Public Library system, this place could surely use…read morea facelift. There is plenty of space on the inside, but everything is quite outdated. Another major downside is the noise level, which at times can be pretty loud as everything kind of echos throughout. There is a very small quiet space on the far east side of the building but with mainly reading chairs, not an ideal place to work if you need a table. If you intend to get some work done here, make sure you have noise cancelling headphones. The perks are the location and a very large parking lot.

Happened to be nearby and needed a few books. Easy to get to, though watch the turn- you go in…read moresouth of the building, there's a one-way exit just north of the library, and no way to get in through the mall. Beautiful new building, lots of glass. Open and bright inside. Large children's area. I didn't see the other areas, because I have a kid... K found what she wanted, admired the fish tank, played in the play areas. Very pleasant all around. We are lucky to have a great library system in Franklin County, often rated one of the best in the nation, with many branches, which are being upgraded regularly. Great staff, large selection, easy to reserve. Not to mention the programs and events and electronic offerings. Honestly, one of the centers of the community and a driver of excellence.

All I can say about the new library is WOW. Definitely a destination place. I always supported…read morelibrary levies because of how they meet the needs of our diverse community. But this new library is incredible. I especially like all the "New Book" areas. Tons of spots for your little ones, your teens or maybe you just want to sit and relax and plug in or unplug. Inside, you would have no idea you are on busy Brice Road. Lots of parking, love the landscaping. We need more than 5 stars.

The new branch is finally done. Same location as the old branch, but that was torn down what, two…read moreyears ago? I'd visited it many times but apparently never reviewed it, but now I have a chance here. We went on opening day. The parking lot is much bigger but was full, and people were parking all around the neighborhood and walking. There was a line to get in till they opened a side door into the kid's area. Baby K loved that, not crowded till the ceremony was over. Activity tables, lots of stacks, lots of places to sit. We headed out the front door and saw come of the celebration. There were freebies, for the opening and the whole library system's 150th anniversary. Staff were excellent. The place is bigger, brighter, nicely arranged, and with modern amenities. (No bus in the play area, K wants you to know.) We'll be back, I'm sure.

Basically, this is an upscale drop off DAYCARE center and not designed for someone seriously…read morewanting to gain knowledge through a library. Children are running rapid, climbing over furniture and screaming..... babies having temper, tantrums and adult / staff doing absolutely nothing to correct the issue. Forget about trying to concentrate because that is not happening here. I have been at this location several times, mornings, afternoon and evening, and it's always the same scenario. Even with wax earplugs or EarPods you simply cannot mask the noise level. I've spoken with staff regarding the issue and was told it's normal. After school is out then you're dealing with disrespectful teenagers, sitting around, acting up and being disruptive and claiming all the decent computers just to sit and watch videos or play games. Can't they do this at home so that others can actually utilize the library as it was meant to be used? If the teens have taken up all the adult allowed area ( yes their sections for the age groups ) and there is a free seat elsewhere you NOT allowed to use it unless you have a child with you. If that's not discriminating I don't know what is. Wasted tax dollars at work!!! Would've been cheaper to build a free daycare center elsewhere. While I enjoy the futuristic modern design, the open center is complete wasted space only designed for aesthetic purposes, not useful. And lastly, with all the windows, it is absolutely freezing in the winter time....and yes burning up in the summer. I suggest New Albany library where the youth have respect for their surroundings, unless you're a deadbeat parent needing to pawn your child off on someone else, then the Gahanna library is for you.
