I really enjoy this library because of an incident like yesterday that just took me by surprise. I came in looking for a specific reference book and the clerk was so helpful before explaining that those materials were not at this facility, but she could order it and I could pick it up. I thought that was pretty decent and left my number for when it got there. I was thinking a couple of days..wrong..I got a call at the end of the day...it was there... And even though it was late, if I was on my way she would wait for me...wow...thanks that was so cool...

The penalty only applies to businesses (not residents) false alarms where no cause can be determined other than a faulty detectors, and can only be recommended after multiple alarms, not just a single circumstance. The penalty is to penalize ONLY lazy businesses (much like your own) who are too lazy to pay to get their fire system in proper working order and would rather waste their own tax payer dollars sending Emergency Responders to false alarms. I love the yearly convention that is held here in Anchorage or Fairbanks. The annual event has initiatives with board member voting, dancing, educational booths, and my all time favorite are the beautiful ethnic products made by different tribes from around Alaska and the lower 48. I have not been to the Fairbanks AFN yet, so maybe next year will be my first time. At the end of my shopping spree I like to go to the vendors outside the convention center and get smoked and dried salmon. To me it's like candy. Thrifty people will buy material goods on the last day because that's the sale day and sellers don't feel like hauling the goods back home, but this is a gamble because they could be missing out on one of a kind items like a sea otter fur blanket. Love this event and will return.

It is located right next to Fire Station 1. This memorial, which was dedicated in 201, honors the State's first responders that have made the ultimate sacrifice. It features a bronze statue of a firefighter in turnout gear, hold a hose and ready to fight a fire. The statue is very detailed, you can actually see the icecicles hanging from the firefighter's helmet. They look so real. The statue has a cement pedestal in front of it with a bronze plaque with the Firefighters Prayer on it. There are 6 walls low brick walls that are surrounding the statue. Two walls are joined together at the center and has an EMS and firefighters cross above them along with a bell. The walls have bronze plaques on the with the name of each State hero engraved on them. There are a lot of blank space and hopefully, it will stay that way. The plaza that the memorial sits is well maintained and in excellent shape. It was constructed completely with private donations and funds. The ground is made of brick pavers and has some lights counter sunk into it to provide nighttime illumination. This is a fitting tribute to those everyday heroes. This is not a big time consumer, but is neat to see and could be coupled with visits to the Anchorage Firefighters Museum, the Alaska Law Enforcement Museum, and other nearby attractions.
