Everything here is phenomenal, from their local chocolates to the popcorn. I've never had anything bad here. This time around we got the giant truffle box, the smaller assorted box, s'mores popcorn, garlic parm popcorn, taffy and some fudge. We haven't broken into most of it but the smores popcorn is absolutely absurd, and the boxed chocolates are exactly how I remember them. The first time I was here, I left wanting more so I bought some chocolates from the store. Not even a comparison. There's only one Alpine. Can't say enough good things about this place. Come check it out!

And because why the heck not, I also got a toffee pecan shortbread cookie. Why eat just one cookie when you can eat two? While I was there, I got probably the best iced tea I've had in a long time: the holy basil tulsi, which was wonderfully green-tasting and mellow. They have a good selection of all kinds of teas, from rooibos to herbal to black to white to oolong to green and more. But if you're looking for something different, I highly recommend the holy basil tulsi! I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying some of that tea while I was there, because I would love to enjoy it at home. They do sell their teas, so if you're smarter than I am, you will get some tea to take home. One of the great things about HumaniTea is that all of their teas are humanely sourced. They are very invested in combating slavery and human trafficking. So you can feel good that the tea leaves you're enjoying were responsibly sourced. That's a feather in your cap (and in your cup). Another neat thing about HumaniTea is that they offer local kombucha by the growler! I don't think I've ever heard of kombucha on tap, so that's pretty unique.

A Wonderful Experience at Pentwater Froyo…read more We arrived in town late and noticed this new frozen yogurt shop near the square. Even though they were closed, the person inside (possibly the owner) kindly let us in when he saw me and my 4-year-old daughter at the door. He was so friendly, helping us fill our cups with yogurt and toppings. To our surprise, when we went to pay, he said it was on the house and even gave us a 10% off coupon for our next visit. It was such a kind gesture after a long day of travel. We'll definitely be back!!

The single star goes to the lady server who was kind and understanding when we visited for wine…read moretasting this week. If I were just scoring the wines, it would be a negative number. My two friends and I who have traveled extensively to wine regions and have a lot of wine knowledge joined me while we were on a vacation in the area. We all are dry drinkers. We could not get beyond the awful aromas of the wines, let alone the undrinkable flavors. Because everything we attempted to try were beyond horrible, we believe it has to be the winemaking practices, not just an "off", single bad bottle of wine. The website description of this tasting room led us to believe there was a variety of MI wineries represented, not just Love's Winery. We had never had Love's wines before, but now we know. This could be a nice spot to enjoy a drink...if it had palatable wines.

Our experiences get better with each visit. If you like wine or want to experiment, try this!read more
