This is the second refinance. The first one was a year ago. Everything that I stated in this previous review is still true. They are truly amazing people to work with. I've re-posted the previous review for easy reading. At first I was skeptical and thought Starwest Mortgage might be a scam. I looked up reviews and their BBB rating. The reviews are stellar. I tried them just recently for a refinance. It's been an exceptional experience. Logan and Scott (along with others that I spoke with) were very thorough, on top of things and easy to work with. The whole process was easy. Their claim that there are no closing costs turned out to be true. In fact there was extra money from the lender as a credit that they applied to our prepaid interest and escrow amounts. Their interest rate was better than other banks even though they offered a no cost loan. I compared mortgages apples to apples and there's was just a better deal. Their process is very thorough with great communication, answering questions before I knew I had them. This is about my 15th time going through a loan or a refinance process. I give them an A+ for communication, customer service and their products. read more

My refinance is done and it's time for a final review. They offered me a wonderful deal, and delivered that same deal at closing. Time wise- it was just over a month which isn't bad either!! What I will say though is that it felt, often times, like pulling teeth and that I needed to be the squeaky wheel to keep things moving. For a customer, or at least speaking for myself, that didn't feel like a good part of the experience. That being said, it was only part of the experience. I was treated kindly, they delivered a good deal, and I would consider using them in the future if I decided to do another refinance... and would recommend them to friends if they wanted to buy or refinance a home. read more

I've financed several homes and done refinancing a dozen times or more. I have never had a re-fi go better than this one. I applied on 8/3/21 and the loan was funded on 8/17/21 - two weeks after the initial application, the loan was complete. Ashley and Kyle know how to get these done and done quickly. My loan was structured with no costs and that means "NO COSTS" AS THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE OF THE LOAN WAS THE SAME AFTER THE RE-FINANCE AS IT WAS BEFORE THE RE-FINANCE. They refused to give us final pricing or rates. Refused to even lock the loan in until after everything was fully approved. The pricing they actually gave wasn't even close to other brokers using the exact same lenders. Clearly trying to stick it to people and take a bigger piece of the pie for themselves. Found this business through a mailer. I didn't believe they really would offer a no cost re-finance. After talking with Kyle, he convinced me and we began the process. Because I had equity in my property, I qualified for a very competitive loan. Since that first re-finance, I have since used Starwest Mortgage to re-finance my mortgage a total of three times and each time, I dropped my interest rate and saved money. Starwest is an incredible company. Although we had just bought our house, we received a letter from Starwest with an offer for an incredible rate on a 30 year loan with very little out of pocket costs to us. We contacted them to confirm the details on the rate and decided to refinance because we were truly going to be able to save money. We initially spoke with Logan and he continued to work with us throughout the loan processing. In 34 years of doing business with mortgage companies, we have never had a more positive experience. If it's possible to give zero stars thats what Michelle Smith from Starwest Mortgage would get. She repeatedly misled me during my loan process and shopped my loan to lenders not approved by Starwest. She pulled my credit without my authorization and when I requested a copy of my credit report she sent me the credit report of another client. Completely incompetent, unethical, not trustworthy, and illegal. If this brokerage continues to employ LO's like Michelle Smith they will surely be out of business and their broker probably in jail. And if you chose to work with them then buyer be ware. read more
