She is very patient and is great in making learning a fun activity. Kids get real hands on experience in programming and model building. Feedback (optional) questionnaires sent at the end of every class is a great way to reinforce kids learning and to inform the parents of what is happening in the class. My son is very excited about this class and I am totally satisfied with the content and teaching methods used. The academic curriculum is excellent, every week they learn so many new things, math, science, English.. along with fun projects, which encourages kids to be handson and creative while learning key concepts :) Their newly introduced text books are great, it's very helpful to revise what they've been learning at school. It's so thoughtfully authored by the school's director herself. It's just one example of how much she personally cares about the kids and their growth. I know there are many positive reviews, and those reviews influenced our decision to enroll, which is why I feel it's important to share our experience as well. When my daughter joined at 18 months after transitioning from a nanny, she adjusted wonderfully. Her initial teacher was great, and the school had a warm, home-based daycare feel. At that time, we were happy with our decision. Over time, however, several concerns developed. Teacher turnover & communication: We experienced multiple teacher changes with limited communication about the transitions or replacement teachers. Daily communication was also fairly basic, usually covering eating, sleeping, and bowel movements, with little information about activities, learning, or how the day went. I raised this with the director multiple times but did not see meaningful improvement. Preschool environment: As my daughter got older, I was looking for a more structured preschool environment before kindergarten. In my experience, the facility felt more like a home-based daycare than a structured preschool. I recommend visiting in person and deciding whether the environment matches your expectations. Organization: I also had concerns about organization and cleanliness. The entrance frequently had backpacks, bottles, milk, and lost-and-found items in open areas. This may be subjective, but it did not meet my personal expectations for a preschool. Fees & policies: Read the enrollment agreement very carefully. There are multiple additional fees and specific rules covering materials, annual registration, books, diaper changing, uniforms, tardiness, and withdrawal/notice requirements. Some fees are non-refundable. I misunderstood the withdrawal requirement and ultimately lost my deposit. Although disappointing, I decided that continuing enrollment simply because of the financial loss was not right for our family. Parking & drop-off: Parking can be challenging during morning drop-off due to limited spaces. Combined with strict tardiness charges, this made an already busy morning more stressful for us. Licensing: I strongly recommend reviewing California Child Care Licensing records in addition to Google reviews. An April 2026 licensing report documents regulatory citations. Go to Google.com and type "little steps steam preschool license number XXX citation". You will see details of citation, I am not allowed to post links here. There was also a September 4, 2026 site visit/complaint investigation. At the time of writing, that report has not yet appeared in the public online records. A notice posted at the facility indicates that Type A and Type B violations were issued. I am intentionally not interpreting the violations and encourage parents to review the official documentation themselves once available. Every family can have a different experience. I'm sharing ours because I wish I had considered these factors before enrollment. If you are considering this school, visit in person, ask detailed questions about teacher turnover and communication, understand all fees and withdrawal requirements, and review the state licensing records before making your decision.

This after school not only focuses on homework and other forms of academics, but they also help children on their character building. The curriculum is well balanced, which I truly enjoy. Achiever Institute offers classes like math, writing, drawing, crafts, recess, Spanish, Chinese, drama, and many more. This is important because not only are these children being taught important academic lessons, but they are also able to express their imaginations and creativity in interesting ways within the classes provided by Achiever. What's quite extraordinary is that not only do they put forth energy to ensure homework is finished and class work is being done, but they also genuinely put the time and effort into teaching their students life long lessons. For example, here at Achiever Institute the staff are also concerned with teaching the students politeness, respecting themselves, their fellow classmates, the staff, other people's feelings, their shared spaces, and so much more! What I also really like is that the staff always communicates with the parents. This is key in my opinion because it is so important to not only be completely aware of everything your child is going through, but also so that you, as a parent, are always kept up to date. Lastly, the summer programs offered by Achiever are like no other! Comparable to the school year's curriculum, they too have a great balance of teaching students necessities and having fun. The first few weeks are intriguing courses such as coding classes, science week, cooking week (which is my personal favorite), etc. but the last month or so of Achiever Institute's summer program is what COMPLETELY SETS THEM APART FROM ANY OTHER AFTER SCHOOL!!! The daily schedule for the kids are wonderful, with such a reasonable monthly fee, they even include teaching one kind of musical instrument, Spanish and Chinese on top of the academic enrichment program. My kids never complained about being bored at Achiever. They always asked me to pick them up later so that they can go to those classes. Principal Jim and principal Yuni of Achiever put their heart in this after school. You can tell that they do not only treat the kids or the parents nicely, but also the teachers and TA in Achiever. Unlike any of the other after schools, Achiever has really low turn over rate. Teachers, TAs and even drivers all telling me they enjoy working there. The 2 main teachers there, Teacher Feliza and Teacher Cathy, are really caring teachers, they do not only pay attention to the academic progress for the kids there, they even care about their characters growth. They have great observations of each kid there and help them to excel. Believe it or not, Achiever even offers Parent Teacher conference each year to let us know how our kids are doing academically and socially. TAs working in Achiever are so responsible and they are good with children. They set good examples for the kids there for being polite and caring all the time.
