Just wanted to thank Start2finish who did a fantastic job for my wife and I. We had all the existing flooring removed, a combination of carpet(stairs) tile ( powder Room, kitchen and laundry room) and laminate removed and disposed of. The floor needed levelling using liquid concrete and ground down in areas to make it perfectly smooth. The new flooring was picked up by them from a third party and laid throughout the bottom level of our condo and stairs plus the upstairs landing. They also installed new 5 1/4" baseboard. As we live in Canada communication was all done via phone and texts. Everything went smoothly. Thanks to Bill and David the on site supervisor. We are hoping to use them to install new kitchen cabinets and countertops sink and faucet. Highly recommended. read more

They completed a very small job for us; tiling a small shower. As we are in a condo building with rules that don't allows tile saws in common spaces. Instead of cutting with a diamond cutter vs a saw or at least using the saw where it is allowed (in the parking lot), the tile setter used the saw inside a small condo! There was dust everywhere in every room and on every surface. He didn't even clean up beyond a simple sweep in the small bath when he completed the job with grouting etc. We thought that the rather high price quoted for the job would come with this professional courtesy but all we got was 100$ credit on a $3k bill that was increased by 250$ since the 1st quote. The final job install looks good, however, you leave a job in a better place than when you got it. The place was a mess and required a professional cleaning. Not impressed! read more

Start2Finish crew did a phenomenal job laying down a new laminate floor in 3 bedrooms. The transitions and molding turned out beautifully! Review of Start2Finish Flooring from 11.22.2021 -to- 11.25.2021: We had a major interior flood in our home in early September 2021. Our insurance company gave us several choices on how to oversee the subsequent claim and we choose their option of a 'Single-Point-Of-Contact-Contractor' who in turn would manage the repair and restoration from "A" -to- "Z." That company is Gulf Coast Restoration & Construction/GCR&C (http://www.gcrcinc.com). We had four flooring areas in our home that was damaged, and we elected to replace the wood flooring and carpet areas with tile. GCR&C sub-contracted Start2Finish Flooring (www.start2finishflooring.com) who have 30-plus years of experience. The 30-plus years of experience was evident from start -to- finish! The team of Jose Plasencia/Team Leader, David Plasencia, and Angel Lopez arrived at our home ten minutes prior to their schedule start time; and they did this on November 22, 23, 24, and 25 without fail. There was a lot of heavy furniture involved in three of the four areas, we walked the project, discussed several ways of approaching the install and agreed on a plan of attack. Then the team went to work. Everyday they stayed on task, they were constantly doing something that pertained to the installation of over 810.96 square feet of tile. Because there was existing tile Mr. Plasencia called on his supervisor, Mr. Junior Rodriguez, to come to the house to review the installation plan with emphasis on how the new tile will interact/lineup with the existing tile; keep in mind they use lasers to ensure how the tile pattern is going to be established. Mr. Rodriguez, after walking/analyzing the work area and discussing options with Mr. Plasencia brought my wife and I into the discussion, pointed out the areas of concern and provided at least two options in the areas of concern. Given this companies 30-plus years of experience we asked Mr. Rodriguez to state what he felt was the best option, which he did with an understandable explanation of why. We went with his expertise and the plan to complete the installation was formed and agreed upon. In quite simple terms, the Team of Jose, David, and Angel are consummate professionals. They did an outstanding job. As well, when moving the heavy furniture, they ensured we were part of the decision process on where to move the furniture to, given this project was expected to last until November 26 and my wife, our two dogs, and I are living in our home during this project; they took extra care and considered safety issues in moving the heavy furniture and did not damage any furniture or walls. Because we are living in our home during this work, before they left at the end of the day, they made sure to brief us on what areas to be careful of and the plan for the next days' work. Finally, when they advised us, they would work on Thanksgiving, if that was okay with us, given we have been living in a torn-up house since early September and the fact that when they were finished, we would have a household that looked normal, that allowed us to use all areas of our home we were ecstatic. Better yet, by 12:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day we celebrated with Jose, David, and Angel over some Apple Pie that the job was done, and they were heading out the door to enjoy their hard-earned holiday weekend. Start2Finish just ended a five day install of 500 square feet of 2x4 feet porcelain tile. They were very polite, hard working and very professional. They worked long hours to finish on our schedule . They hung plastic for the demo, used a hepa filter for dust, cleaned up after themselves everyday. As you can see in the photos , the result is outstanding. The 2x4 tile takes experts to lay it and they did an excellent job. We got three quotes and they were in line price wise as well. I would use them again for sure. read more

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the quality job Start2Fishish has done for our home. Everyone from the salesman (Tim), to the owner Bill and the installation crew headed by Jorge did a fantastic job. We did have a slight challenge with the actual material from the manufacturer being less than perfect, however Start2Finish worked closely with the distributor to re-order product to rectify the problem. I would not use this company. There communication is not good. They sell you well then when contractors show up there like a separate company and Start2Finish salespeople disappear. Also don't get me started about how they do job then when we find issues after job is done they never ever show up again and do not guarantee there work. I had to fix issues they did not get done. Very poor customer service once you hire them. Find someone else. ProSource recommended them which doesn't say much for them. read more

I had a very bad experience with this company. The quality of the workmanship was very poor. When they put the grout on the walls for the tile, it was different thickness in different areas. There was a 1/2 inch gap between the wall and the tile. It was the same way around the tub and the shower. I had to hire another person to come in and fill in the spaces so water would not get behind the tile. The owner said that the tile men said that the walls were not straight and that was the reason for the gaps but when I had my handyman fill in the gaps with cement mud he placed a level against the wall and it was perfectly straight. They removed some tile from the side of the shower but never replaced it with the new tile. I again had to hire someone to fix it. They even left a huge hole where the baseboard goes and the tile was removed. It looked horrible. The owner of the company came by and said the workmanship looked good. If this is his idea of good workmanship then he does not know his craft. The handyman I hired to fix it all could not believe that they left the job like this! Stay away from this company. read more

A friend of mine referred me to Start2Finish flooring, and from there I started my online investigation on them. I'm not the type to leave reviews on the internet. However, I'm compelled to this time because the current reviews on Google and Yelp for Start2Finish flooring weren't impressive and thus caused me to go with another company for my tile job (whom will remain anonymous). Going with the other company was a huge mistake. This mistake cost me time, money, and materials and the unnamed company did a sub par job. I had to fire the anonymous company half way through the job after over 2 weeks of them working on the same job. Misleading reviews online are a problem. They costed me over a thousand dollars, and this is my attempt to help the community in the Bay area avoid making a mistake like I did. I'll try to be thorough without being too long winded, and I may copy paste this review to Yelp if I feel like it. Anyways, here goes. So, from the beginning Start2Finish flooring was polite and patient with me with their customer service. The guy I was in communication with knew what he was talking about and was able to answer all of my questions that even other companies were unable to answer. I talked to several other companies during my "shopping around". As I mentioned before I had to fire one company and get a new crew in to finish the job. Usually flooring companies won't finish someone else's half completed job for various reasons; however, Start2Finish Flooring worked with me. They inspected previous company's work pointed out the mistakes, fixed the important mistakes, and decided they would finish the job. Yeah, Start2Finish were professional, worked with me, and I'm happy with the final outcome, but the following is what blew me away and compelled me to leave a positive review. They finished the job, fixed the mistakes from the other company, and did it in half the time the other companies I talked to would have. To top it off... THEY DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE ME EXTRA!! They charged me their standard competitive tile installation rate to finsh. They were at the job working at 7:30am. They did a great job. The installers are probably machines or cyborgs. I doubt they took breaks. All the labor has a 1 year warranty. Everything was cleaned nicely after completion. They were very reasonable on the business end of things. I'm perplexed how Start2Finish flooring has bad reviews. They won all of my future flooring business. These guys play for keeps. They don't screw around. read more
