We stopped in this afternoon and we're very impressed by the fact that they grow all of their own grapes here on property, the vineyards are beautiful! She also told us they have over 52 varietals. The wine tasting is actually free for five selections, reserve wines not included, so that is super generous, considering what you pay another locations for a tasting. We loved the Valentino, the Pinot Grigio and the red we selected is the Montepulciano. If you have a partner that does not like wine, she also stocked some craft beers. It does look like they have some fun events here as they have a beautiful patio with an outdoor fireplace. There were locals coming in to buy their favorite wines, so this family business seems well loved by the locals. Cute spot and we would definitely stop in again!

They have a super fun collection of antiques and historical items. The building is beautiful and you can explore while you wait for your food. My eating companions and I had BLT's, chicken salad, and broccoli cheddar soup. Next time I would request my bread be toasted, but otherwise a very standard experience. The iced tea was super good! Costs: Free Museum Type: Historical Custom House Seaman Field's old home is believed to be this small New Mexico town of Deming's inital customs house. This is speculated to be the original custom house for Deming or the entire Luna County because Mr. Seamen Field set up his home/ranch back in 1848. Mr. Field was also the first bonded customs agent under President G. Cleveland, Deming's first mayor and judge. More info about Mr Field, this abode and related can be found at the Luna County (Columbus) Historical Society (Museum) in Columbus, New Mexico about an hour south of Deming near the Original Mexico border. The home has been refurbished inside and out to resemble the late 1800 and early 1900s rather than it's pure original. The home is in well shape throughout the years and looks nothing like the original abode since we don't know what it really looked like yet still a gem to snoop around the past, learn and be amazed how the people back thing survived. Deming is a small town with limitations. Notable attractions in Deming are the Mimbres Museum across the street, the small Veterans park/memorial across the street and the Luna County Courthouse which is over 100 years old with a cool park to rest up. About one hour north of Deming are: City of Rocks, and Fort Cummings Historical Site and town of Hatch. A further drive is Silver City which has its own set of touristy stuff. About one hour south of Deming are: The mexican border, Luna County Historical Society and the Pancho Villa State Park. The Duck Races will not disappoint!!!…read more The Duck Races are typically the 4th weekend in August. The events include: Thursday night duck pageant!!! The pageant is a chance for duck enthusiasts to waddle their stuff dressed as a duck in front of a crowd!! There is an annual theme that helps guide all the duck events for the weekend. The pageant entries should support the theme!!! To win contestants create homemade duck costumes, a dance of some kind, and they waddle like a duck in front of an adoring crowd!!! Friday the carnival is ready to go and this year (2022) there was a skate competition. Saturday is ALL THE FESTIVITIES!!! A balloon ascension starts the morning off bright and early! Next, there is a parade!! Then, the Races begin!!! A Duck Race involves literally holding a duck on a starting line (on either a wet or dry track). The ducks are provided for $5 and a person is not allowed to cheat by mistreating their duck. An announcer counts down and the ducks race to the finish line!!! Surrounding the duck race area are vendors for food and various items for purchase. There is an official merchandise truck where one can purchase the annual tshirt themed design and other fun gear!!! The Duck Races are a tournament so winners advance to the next round of competition. Sunday is the Duck Race finals in which a cash prize is given to the Champion Duck racer! The weekend also includes: Softball Tournament Tortilla Toss Duck Dance Outhouse Races Balloon Glow Corn hole Tournament The Duck Races are quaint and have small town charm!!! Being a native I am totally bias - but I love the Duck Races and I will continue to support this awesome annual tradition!!! I highly recommend the Duck Races and I will be there each year.
